Our contract is paid off, and we only have to pay maintenance fees each month. The reason we joined Wyndham was because of the level of accommodations that were offered. We always appreciated the safety and cleanliness of Wyndham properties. Finally, I understand that "newly acquired" properties need time to be renovated, but it is probably wise not to have those properties available for owners to use...there were many points used to book this. The reason I chose this resort was because we were looking for a low-key, nature-focused retreat for my aging parents and us. I researched the area and found some fun things to do off-property but thought the amenities on-property would keep us busy. Little did I know, those amenities were not all available and were spread all over the "resort" making it difficult to navigate. I will start with my positives as they are few--the gentleman who was at the guardhouse to let us in, was very friendly. Susie, who we met with when we checked out after being on property less than 12 hours, was very helpful and understanding. Everything else was terrible. The photos available were definitely not accurate to the property. The "cottage" was disgusting. There is no one at the front desk after 5pm. We did not arrive until 9pm. After getting our envelope with keys and pitiful directions from the guardhouse, we drove around the property for a LONG time. There is limited signage and not much in the way of lighting. The property is primarily residential...and the residents are not fans of people driving the speed limit on roads they are unfamiliar with. My husband does not drive slow, and residents were driving like crazy on the roads as we were looking for our rental. Instead of writing another paragraph, I'm just going to list the issues we had with the "cottage": -broken front step -uneven floors -floor strips pulling up from the ground -all flooring was sticky -carpet was deeply stained and pulling away from the floor and walls -film/grime on the bathroom mirrors and counters -hairs on the towels and toilets -shower shelves leaning off the wall -hair dryer pulling off the wall -stairs to the loft shaking and pulling off the ground -extremely limited storage in bathrooms -mold on bathroom wall -overwhelming smell of mildew, mold, "musty" My husband tried calling Wyndham but they directed us to the property's front desk...where there was no one overnight. As soon as the front desk was open, my husband and I went in and spoke with Susie (who was great). We gave her our list of grievances and concerns. We called Wyndham again and after expressing our frustration over the property, the reinstated a little over half of our points. We left and drove to Marietta to stay in a hotel chain that we know and trust. We feel like the worst financial decision we have made as a married couple was to join Wyndham. We are looking for our options to get out. We have yet to have a Wyndham experience that has been positive from start to finish. Usually it's the annoying process of harassment for attending a meeting at check-in which sets our vacation off to a stressful and rocky start. This time, it was the rental property along with the lack of timely customer service. My parents, my husband and myself would definitely encourage readers to stay somewhere else. Wyndham, you have become a huge disappointment.

Surprisingly the price is not too bad either. You can only valet park... fyi. This hotel is quite an interesting boutique in a lovely community. Many places to eat, fun to be had and things to see... it is its own small get away for a great weekend!! I really highly recommend this location... for the hotel and all there is around it. The location is QUESTIONABLE especially for a girl traveling alone. I had the raging urge to hire someone off of Craigslist to come stay with me for the night because THAT sounded safer than this place looks. There are a lot of people just wandering around the property slowly and it always looks like they're walking towards you (but again, they're slow so you can usually make it to where you need to go in time). Let's talk about the room: my first impression was "wow this is a big room," but I soon realized that it just seems large because everything in the room is tiny and/or missing. The small TV doesn't work. The only channel you get is Spike. My TV was personally very loud. I couldn't turn the volume down either because the volume buttons were smashed in and there was no remote control. There's no chair, no table, no towels in the bathroom. There is a bed BUT NO BLANKET. When I was finally going to go to sleep, I pulled down the "blanket" to find just a mattress under it! It just had a sheet tucked into a mattress. I slept on top of it and froze all night, hugging a pillow that I could only hope and pray to the hotel gods that it had been washed at least once in it's crunchy pillow life. In the morning I had a knock on my door with someone outside moaning loudly, "IS THIS THE FRONT DESK?" I said nothing. I didn't want to draw attention to myself. Also my room was nowhere near the front desk, nor does the door look like a front desk so?? Oh yea and the room numbers are written on in pen. So you get that real artsy feel. Also just a little extra thing to add, there was like this large penne noodle in the bathtub? Did not use tub or shower (no towels, but noodle??). Needless to say this place confused the crap out of me and I felt like I was in a horror movie all night. I was waiting for blood to start dripping from the walls and I heard a few screams throughout the night. It kind of gave me a haunted house feeling, but instead of ghosts it's actual real people in the walls that might kill you for your shoes. Interesting experience 10/10 would stay again!

Its not the greatest hotel Ive ever experienced judging by accomodations and amenities but I can personally vouch for each and every staff member on deck! The people that work behind the front desk are what make this place 5 Star! They have a 5 Star staff that goes above and beyond to do the very best they can with what they got, and to me that says a lot of merit, ethic, and integrity which are qualities in a Staff that money cant buy! Its been tough on this country since the start of the Pandemic, and through these hard times I can say that every day I go to the front desk, somebody is there to greet me with a smile! And sometimes thats just the right thing to turn a bad experience around, on face value! I want to personally thank Michelle, Jesse, Tresha, Christy, Chris, Robert, Bianca, Stephanie, Monica, Kevin, Rastaman, The New Girl, and anybody everyone else at this property, youve made my time here worth a return a visit, and thats the true definition of hospitality!
