She would have not been able to climb stairs. I was never accommodated. So, on the day she was discharged, I had to check out, carrying all baggage down three flights of stairs without assistance, and find a new hotel. It's hard to believe that in a city the size of Atlanta they couldn't fix an elevator in five to six days, or that they couldn't move me to the ground floor. Totally unacceptable.

My friend and I were staying nearby in Buckhead and, after dinner, decided to take advantage of a beautiful Atlanta evening and walk over to the Waldorf Astoria for a nightcap. What a lovely way to end the evening. From the moment you enter, the hotel is elegant, polished and quietly luxurious. Beautiful marble floors, soaring spaces, gorgeous lighting and that unmistakable grand-hotel feeling. Parts of it reminded me of the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando -- classic, sophisticated and beautifully done. We settled in for a cocktail and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even though we weren't staying at the hotel, we were made to feel welcome, and we even had an opportunity to see a little more of the property. The hotel is gorgeous. I can't speak to the guestrooms or overnight experience because we weren't hotel guests, but as a destination for an evening cocktail in Buckhead? It absolutely did not disappoint. Sometimes you don't need an itinerary. Take the walk. Wander into the beautiful hotel. Order the nightcap. Life is too short not to travel well -- or drink well. Get out there and enjoy it.

We didn't have a coffee pot as it was missing. The sink drains slower than molasses which was quite unpleasant. Also, the doors are as thin as paper, we were woken by loud slamming. The positives were that the front desk staff was very nice and professional, the parking was very accessible, and there were bars all throughout (coffee and alcohol). There was also a very nice view of the courtyard in our room. Overall, the price point matches and it's good if you're coming to a conference or competition with family, however as far as a comfortable clean staycation? Would not recommend.
