The team at Pemberton are the real MVPs; they managed to handle multiple orders and get them all ready for delivery in a super short amount of time. There are other florists in town that were contacted, but only Pemberton had the flexibility to take care of a number of orders, get the messages noted, and ready for distribution. One doesn't have to be in the Salem vicinity to utilize their services, as most of us had reached out to them online and through the phone. We recently had a sudden and unexpected death in our family. I was assigned the task of ordering the family arrangement and in all the commotion, I forgot! When I remembered, 1 business hour before closing - the day before the 11am internment, I was horrified. I called Pemberton's in a panic and asked for something very specific...a "bleeding heart" the traditional arrangement my family always sends. And I specifically DIDN'T want it to look like a Valentines Day box of chocolates with ruffles on the edge. I was praying....The employee was kind and helpful. She listened carefully to my very specific instructions. They didn't have the background flower I always used - so suggested a substitute. It turned out even better than I could have imagined. My husband went to Pemberton's on my recommendation to purchase anniversary flowers as I have liked their arrangements in the past. We were extremely disappointed in the arrangement. The center flower was a green hydrangea with a clump of spray roses behind the hydrangea, greenery and a few flocks. In my opinion the colors clashed and it looked thrown together. He was charged $70 for an arrangement I didn't keep. The arrangements my husband has purchased from grocery stores have been nicer. I didn't include a photo because I took the arrangement apart, bought my own flowers and put it back together. read more

I found Pemberton's on Yelp and YES, I get why so many people are raving. I just got off the phone with Patty; I put the poor woman through the ringer and took like 15 minutes to get my order in. She was so incredibly helpful, friendly and you can tell she really cares about the orders she gets. After finally almost letting the poor woman off the phone I asked her if there was a supervisor or manager I could sing her praises to and she mentioned that it's a family business, so not really. I don't do a lot of Yelp reviews but- she was so informative, empathetic (ahem- was very friendly when I managed not to have the delivery address available) and overall pleasant. Knowing the etiquette of sending grief items same day if you can, I acted quickly and did a search of possible florists in Salem. So from my home office in Portland, I found a florist close to my teammates Salem address. I just took a chance by calling Pemberton's. Before I phoned I looked at their website. It had a great layout and easy to navigate. Instead of ordering on-line, I called in - Kate helped me and she was pretty efficient. She took great care in handling the inscription on the card. Even though it was a sad occasion, they were nice to work with. They were able to deliver a touching arrangement same day. I did use their website as a guide and they used a few different flowers that were in stock. I later phoned back to see if they could change the spelling of a name - Unfortunately, they'd already left to deliver the flowers, but at least they took my call. I have never been here, just a phone order, but it went well and they delivered same day (I phoned around 12pm and it got their before 4pm). Kind feedback on the delivery. I am really happy with the service from Pemberton's. Ordered a bouquet online and had it sent to my girlfriends apartment. The kicker is she was moving to Oregon and wasn't even in the state yet. I wrote the time she was suppose to get there and mentioned the flowers may need to be left outside her door. Even though she arrived a little later then I said, the delivery women either timed it perfect or waited for her to arrive. I ordered flowers for Valentine's day for my wife which is also our anniversary. I chose this shop because it is only 1.4 miles from where she works(4 minutes by google maps). I specifically typed in the special instructions that the flowers had to be delivered before 3:30 because that is what time she leaves work. The delivery person did not show up until 3:45 and thwn called to ask where to take them because she was not at work anymore.
