This cafe is somewhat trendy and it seemed popular, so I took break and checked it out on this lovely Friday afternoon. I ordered a caracol (cinnamon bun) and a small cafe Americano con leche. The caracol was quite large and I felt guilty ordering it just based on the high sugar and calories alone. But it tasted good. I have to admit that the service was not that great here today. They forgot the leche in the cafe, and I needed to flag down a different Server for a spoon to stir the cafe and leche that they brought to the table. Then it seemed like there was a lot of confusion about what was supposed to be on the check. It was like nobody knew! I like the ambiance, and the outdoor seating is awesome, but it seemed like there was a lot of confusion amongst the 8+ employees.

As soon as I got into Mexico City I had a craving for chilaquiles. When I walked past Peltre and saw another women eating them I knew it was a sign and I had to have them! I loved the sauce to chip ratio. It helped the chips not get soggy as quickly. They were generous with the crema and queso. The egg was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was the flavor of the green salsa. It tasted more like it came from a jar than it was made fresh. The staff were very kind and service was great.

Another restaurant from famous Mexican Chef Daniel Ovadia that simply get's the job done, wether you want to have a nice breakfast or an early brunch, Peltre has a food selection large enough to satisfy every palate. It's menu consist pretty much in classical Mexican breakfast dishes with the personal chefs touch, different variations to American and continental breakfast, bakery and coffee. It might be a little overpriced, but if happen to pass by and find an empty table be sure to give it a try

It's fast-casual, with counter service and slick decor. It was typically pretty crowded when we walked by but not too popular in the early morning. Staff quick and nice, easy to communicate with. I had eggs with ham, peas, and plantains; it was a bit salty and a massive portion. Eggs in salsa with avocado were far tastier, and the massive Nutella croissant was great. Coffees are served in bowl-sized mugs. Very affordable-- about $20 after tax and tip for a party of 3. Recommended for a casual breakfast if in the area.

Love this restaurant's concept a minimalist decor with a Mexican American touch. I had the 'huevos motuleños' and unfortunately were very bland and greasy. The tortilla felt old and chewy. Nice chai latte and friendly staff. Hope their cooking improves - lovely spot!

DELICIOUS LOCAL BREAKFAST OR LUNCH. Popular with the locals and expats. This adorable little restaurant features reasonable prices a modest outdoor and indoor dining. No this is not a fancy tourist place. This is where the locals go and consider it a medium priced great value. It does feature full table service and real plates and silverware. I had the Jevos Rancheros with my eggs over easy. It was drenched in a mildly spiced red sauce. My expat friends had chilaquiles with verde (green sauce.) And my other friend had an omelette with cheese and mushrooms with green sauce. It also came with several blue corn tortillas. We were all served toast with a side of refried beans in a fried tortilla cup. I tasted everything and it was absolutely delicious authentic local Mexican fare. So if you're in the neighborhood check out Peltre. You won't be sorry. read more

Eh... overhyped. Only pictured a sandwich but my food (eggs and pancakes) had a hair and came out cold. Service was SUPER slow too. I have friends that went the day prior and they loved it so maybe it was just a one-off. read more

As soon as I got into Mexico City I had a craving for chilaquiles. When I walked past Peltre and saw another women eating them I knew it was a sign and I had to have them! I loved the sauce to chip ratio. It helped the chips not get soggy as quickly. They were generous with the crema and queso. The egg was cooked perfectly. K there was a pro and a con here. The nata concha is fab - I got a vanilla concha with nata stuffed inside and it was wonderful. Big fan and would try the other flavors as well, and the other pastries look good. However, the chai here is absolutely flavorless. Felt like I was just drinking hot milk with a dash of spice but very little. Wouldn't get that again. I'll have to try another beverage another time. read more

Recommended by our hotel (AR 218) - a 1-minute walk. Good stop - lots of friendly and quick staff. We had 3 cappuccinos (the large (grande) is HUGE). Eggs with salsa, Moltulenos eggs, and croissant with nutella were all winners. Recommended. Damages for 3 with tip was USD20. I love love this place the enfrijoladas are so delicious my husband tried chilaquiles and he was really happy with the flavors. The staff was really friendly and everything was clean. Definitely coming back on my next visit. read more

I love this coffee shop/breakfast place/restaurant. It is open all day, has great coffee and pastries, Sundays its one of the best spots to get brunch. It also has great wifi, which I have regularly used to connect my laptop and do some work while sipping from my coffee. I also wanna mention (and thank!) the young employees of this place. They were the most friendly and attentive staff I have met in Mexico City. A must try and obsess over for both locals and visitors! read more

First time to Mexico City and this great little corner eatery is a few doors down from our hotel. The service is exceptional. Each person greeted us and instantly made us feel welcomed. My husband and I are not fluent in Spanish but each cashier was super patient and helpful. Each item we ordered was delicious. Avoid Starbucks when you can enjoy their great lattes and exceptional pastries. I had the Concha de Nata. Loved it. I will be dreaming of it for a while. My husband had some soup and ordered more. This place is quite comfortable, clean, welcoming and absolutely delightful. read more

Great food, great location but they were very impatient because we didn't speak Spanish. The inter designed is great and they closed earlier than they said they would be. And the wait was forever, they were very ignorant with us and didn't want us to stay for too long. read more

Absolutely delicious breakfast! As good as it gets and really great bang for buck. Husband ordered huevos divorciados (nice and spicy) and I ordered blue corn quesadillas with mushrooms and squash blossoms (as good as in the Oaxaca market). Both were stellar and we had to ask at the end of the meal if they served breakfast later in the day to consider returning! read more

We were offered free bread and tortillas with our meal. I didn't eat the tortillas because I was full, but the bread was that perfect, pillowy soft kind with a flaky shell. The bill was very affordable at around $6 per person. Gotta love the exchange rate!
