Very odd interaction. I sent them a picture and explained what I was looking to have done. They said someone needed to come out to give me an estimate. This person looked for about 30 seconds and said that it was too small of a job for them. Not sure why they couldn't have just said that initially instead of making someone drive out to me. read more

We have used Pell Tree over the last 3 years. Always professional, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. Excellent clean up and very accommodating. They have taken down over 25 trees on the property over the years and we've been pleased with each visit. read more

If you want someone to help you out with your trees- this is a YES. I have used this company for many different experiences and will continue to do it why- because they care and they just teach you and just know about trees and bushes and basically everything outside of your house. Ok let me tell you our story: -My arborvitaes needed to be propped up. Too much snow that year and they sagged - well some of them -and they helped me prop them up to save them. Rather than selling me more trees in the spring - they helped me save old ones. -Next time: I got them to prune my maple and my magnolias. And they told us listen with your magnolia this is what you want to watch out for and do to help the health of it! and then they said oh that tree you got there is a weed. Well it was a weed tree that we had just let grew. It was cut down and we were so thankful. It was a tiny tree but with it being cut down - it helped our one holly tree and a blue spruce thrive! -We continue that health maintenance they taught us on the magnolia. -And fast forward to now - with the most recent rains - two of our arborvitaes have been uprooted. They came out and helped us stake them up and will come back again to solidify things. but during their time here - they also told us about a bush that was unhealthy and a maple (which we know has to be cut down). and will help treat our little oak tree. I mean I can't speak more about this company they are beyond professional and so knowledgeable about trees and bushes. and they don't push and just ask what do you want us to do. and you can say yes to this or that and it's your choice. but they give you all this knowledge and I think I can't even fathom a company that's better than that. read more

I have use Pell several times over the years, but no more. They have gotten worse with scheduling the last 2 times. The most recent time they didn't finish the quoted work, it was only a removal of a dead tree and a couple stumps to be ground. It took 2 weeks and a half dozen phone calls to get them to come out and finish. This was on top of of 8 weeks from quote approval to start of the work. And as a final straw, my quote had them leaving some wood chips from my job for use in my garden, when I asked why they didn't no excuse only that they would drop some off. Some wood chips from a single tree removal ended up being a completely full truck with north of 20 yards of wood chips being dumped on my driveway. The professionalism that I used to get from this company is gone. Stay away. read more

I have a weeping cherry that had some kind of gooey brown oozy crud. I ignored it for a while. Leaves and entire branches started to die. I was kicked into gear. Pell responded very quickly treating to disease and pruning. They also diagnosed my skip laurels as having aphids. Those were also treated. I think we dodged a bulked. Thanks Pell. Not the cheapest but professional and knowledgeable. read more

I can't recommend Isaiah, Donna and the Pell Tree team highly enough. We had a huge, tricky job (utterly massive tree, limited access, working around stone walls, plus 2 more trees) and booked late, but the Pell team worked with us to come up with creative solutions at a reasonable price point. They were transparent with estimates and pricing, flexible with their timing (we had to change 2x due to rain and travel), timely, communicative, and utterly pleasant to work with. They spent 2 days taking down a massive tree with much less machinery than I expected (so less damage to our yard and property), and were meticulous about cleaning up after themselves. We got 6 quotes for the job, and Pell was both very competitively priced and also the most responsive and professional. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them strongly. Thank you, Pell team! read more

Today 8/17/23, Pell Tree Co. removed a dead walnut tree from our backyard. It was probably over 60 years old. They were quick and left my property in great shape. I have given them the top rating. Thanks again! Toney E. read more

After I spent several thousand dollars with another tree company, getting my huge oak and much smaller linden pruned of some dead wood, based on the recommendation of their "arborist", I noticed lots of bark peeling off the oak and exposing mushy  tree material under it, as well as several very large branches just falling down for no apparent reason - no wind or rain of any sort.  Chris came out and immediately saw that both the oak and the linden were quickly dying and there was no hope for them.  They are not the cheapest game in town, but they are experts and do the job correctly the first time around. Should have called Pell to begin with and saved myself lots of money. read more

This was the second time that I have used Pell's for tree work. I do not have any experience with their landscaping services. John called and came out to spec out the job very shortly after I had contacted the company. I had gotten 3 other quotes, before I remembered I had used Pell's years ago and decided to take the time to get this 4th quote. John arrived on time and is very personable. By the time I got to this 4th quote I knew just what I wanted done, so was able to compare apples to apples. His pricing came in almost exactly the same as one other quote, and since I've used this company before I decided to let them do the work. Since I have a very capable husband I do not often need others to do work for us. I am very anal about my trees also. I stood outside with the men doing the work and not only observed how it was done, but was able to see the machinery, the process and was able to give them a few nudges when I wanted more taken off the trees. They were very capable and wanted me to be happy with the results. They arrived at 7:30 and left at 2PM. They have about an hour off for lunch. And believe me, they earned it. Pell's uses heavy machinery to do a lot of the lifting of the down limbs. Two of the men who came were the primary cutters.........and 5 of the other men were the cleaner uppers. Even with the heavy duty machine the amount of clean up was considerable. They worked hard, and I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend them. I would also suggest that you be present when tree work is being done on your property. read more

I highly recommend Pell Tree Company! I needed to remove a rotting Elm Tree in my front yard, so I decided to give them a call- John was pleasant, knowledgeable and his price was affordable. We scheduled for the following week and they completed the job in a couple of hours. I was impressed with their work and decided to have one more tree in my back yard removed (huge rotting Ash tree) and some branches from a few other trees trimmed. It was all successfully taken care of in a couple of days. John and his team were professional and on-point through the entire process. From the estimate, to scheduling the work, to cutting the trees, grinding the stumps, to the cleanup; they were courteous and on time. I am very happy with the entire process and the results. My yard looks great and would definitely use this service again when needed. read more

The guys who did our tree work were terrific! I was very impressed with their professionalism and workmanship. 5 star work! The person who does the scheduling in the office was never prompt at getting back to me, which is why I gave them 4 stars. Sometimes it took her days and she always had an excuse as to why she didn't respond. read more

God awful customer service. Says one thing, ends up being another and then he will blame you.

Had some Ash trees that were infected and reached out to 4 area tree companies. 2 never returned my call/email, one estimate was significantly higher. Pell showed up when they said they would for the estimate, determined that 4 old growth trees needed to be taken down and offered a very fair price to do that work and grind the stumps. They contacted me a week before they were due to come out, showed up on that date and completed the work in less than a day and 1/2. In short, they were extremely professional, the work was promptly and efficiently done and there was very little impact on the area in which their heavy equipment was used. They were even able to save a new growth maple tree right next to 2 trees they removed. Disregard the old posts...these guys are great! read more

Pell Tree Company exceeded our expectations in every way!!! They provided recommendations, pruned several trees, cabled two of our tress, removed several very large trees, and ground the stumps. They had the equipment and skilled team to complete the job quickly and efficiently. They worked with great care lifting large portions of trees over our house as well as threading large portions of trees through other trees to get them to the curb. Daniel worked like an artist pruning our trees and was masterful along with his team while removing several of our very large trees. The results of his pruning turned out better than we imagined. The team was constantly cleaning up the area and left our property without debris each day with the exception of the large tree trunks that were hauled away at the end of the project. The entire company was very respectful and reliable. They left our yard looking better than when they arrived. As an unexpected bonus, we learned that Pell does installations, so Pell also replaced two very old yew bushes with two high quality Skip Laurels. We are very happy with the outcome of all of their work! read more
