They wait can be long even with a reservation, so prepared to wait. Not a lot of room to wait in the waiting room. This is an Awesome place to eat, a good show, good service and great tasting food. Four of us in our party for 114.00 tip included wasn't a bad price for the food we got. I had steak, chicken and shrimp with rice, noodles and mixed vegetables, water with lemon to drink. Heaping portions, each dish was well prepared, the Chef did a great job preparing the food. We don't get to come here often but we enjoy it when we do. Atmosphere good, a little loud with TVs, other patrons and the food being prepared but that part of the ombiounce. Tonight live music it was very entertaining. The cook did a great job as always. He entertained and cooked our meal all at the same time. We all took home leftovers to eat later, very enjoyable meal.

Upon getting there I was a little confused as apparently there is two restaurants one is a Chinese buffet the other is hibachi. We went for the hibachi and was not disappointed. Our server was great the cooks name was Alex I recommend you try to ask for him. We had hibachi for two came with chicken steak lobster and scallops. Truly was the best value on the menu. The food was simply fantastic I have eaten at hibachi and half of our states I believe this little gem in Pikeville was the best I've had. We also got sushi the crab lagoon in the cowboy 10 out of 10. Haven't seen udon noodles served on hibachi but one time of them I wasn't a fan but everything else was amazing. My only negative was they seem to be a little stingy on the yum yum Sauce instead of passing the picture around for you to put it on your food he wanted to fill up the little cups and had to keep asking for more. Well I'm staying in Pikeville for the next three months I guarantee they will see me a few more times.

This is American takeout Chinese food, and it's above average. What more could you want? The General Tso has some mild spice to it, the Jasmine hot tea is great. The owner seemed to hover a lot looking after customers which is good, but the buffet still wasn't turned over frequently so the green beans were withered and the sauce had drained off the broccoli. Give it a mix and it tastes great for the price, which is all I want. My street cred: I know real Chinese. When I go out for real Chinese I eat pig stomach in soy, fermented tofu, and tripe in hot chilis. This buffet has none of that, it's 100% American. This buffet has chicken nuggets and enchiladas for the kids, or my mom. I think that's a shame, people should open their minds and try something new. So far as takeout Chinese goes, this is good. Solid 8/10. Sure it's greasy and sugary, but that's how these places are. Try the hot tea, skip the fortune cookie which was so stale I spit it out.

Love this place. We come here regularly for our sushi fix. Pro tip- always come on Thursday for the freshest fish. We also request the sashimi sliced thin, they tend to slice it too thick for my liking. But seriously, this place can compete with any sushi place in the bigger cities! Love the Pikeville roll and the Kamakazi.

Tuna Roll, Volcano Roll, Tako and Tuna Sashimi and some others I can't remember the names of. All fantastic and fresh.

The Sushi bar is totally worth the hour trip it takes my family and I to get there. Never tried anything else at the restaurant but I'm sure it's great. Friendly staff, very clean dining area and restrooms, friendly and accommodating staff and the food is delicious. I've had sushi all over the United States from DC to LA and this is some of the best. I know Pikeville Kentucky is an odd place for sushi but if you try this place you won't be disappointed.

Far better than the average buffet Chinese. Handles large groups takeout or hibachi meals and a few cooked sushi choices

Standalone japanese style restaurant…read more No frills seating area. There is variety of seating availalble available Regular tables, booths high tops lining the glass full length windows. There was just one young man serving. He seemed a little tired and unhappy to be working. But he was polite. My colleague ordered chicken hibachi and I ordered teriyaki salmon bento. My salmon bento came with spring rolls, dumplings and salmon atop some pieces of vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly- cooked through yet not dry. The spring rolls were freshly fried- but the contents of it was mushy. Dumplings were eelicious delicious Good for a quick meal.

Service was prompt, although there were only 2 other tables seated there around 1pm. We were told to pick any table we wanted, then given the menu once we were seated. Menu pictures are included, I ordered a pink lemonade, hibachi lunch special with the strip steak ordered medium, clear soup, salad and a sushi roll of shrimp with cucumber. Important to note that the rolls that have a slash "/" mean you have to choose between the 2. The ginger dressing on the salad, on top of being quite pale compared to the normal color, was very sweet. I did enjoy it, but first impression wasn't the greatest. The clear soup, unfortunately, was the opposite. It looked delicious, but just tasted like warm water to me. When the waitress asked if I wanted yum yum sauce, I said yes and she brought over the squeeze bottle. Steak was cooked well, I'm thankful that I asked for medium, cause it came a little between medium rare and medium. Just the way I like it. Zucchini was cut quite thick, made it a little difficult to eat the less steamed bits, but the more steamed bits were fine. The rice was in the same situation as the soup. It looked delicious, but was pretty bland. The yum yum sauce helped. Overall, I'd go back if I was in town and hungry, it's certainly not bad. Ordered some to go dishes to try, chicken yakisoba and some fried rice on its own. The chicken was delicious, they really seem to have their meets down pat. The noodles were a little on the dry side, and salty. Rice was the same as in restaurant, kind of bland, need the yum yum sauce to mix into it.

They have several choices on the 3 pages of menus so it made it sort of difficult to pick my poison, so to speak. They bill themselves as modern Japanese. Not sure what that meant, but basically they play modern upbeat music and have a modern interior. They do have lunch specials during the week, but I didn't see many that were appealing as they're a combination of Chinese, Thai and Japanese dishes. They also had poke bowls for lunch, but I'm not so sure about that. Their sushi rolls appeared to be made mostly with cream cheese, which I'm not a big fan of in rolls, so those were out as well. I ended up ordering off of the dinner menu. I chose the grilled lamb chops and a side of steamed rice. I totally missed the 3rd menu which featured the sushi and specialty rolls. The lamb chops were ok, they did have a slight grilled flavor, but also another weird flavor like they weren't that fresh. Maybe customers don't order lamb chops here, as much as maybe they would at a fancy American or Mediterranean restaurant. Either way, I still ate them because I was hungry. I prefer the frenched rib chops better than the loin chop which is served here....since its a much tastier cut. In addition, it's usually more expensive. Overall, I don't see myself ever returning here since I'm also not in the area that much. Service was adequate as our drinks were refilled a couple of times and the waiter made sure to stop by and check on us.

This was our second visit to Kita for a casual lunchtime escape, and once again, it did not disappoint. In fact, my stomach was doing a little happy dance by the time we left. From the thoughtfully crafted dishes to the stylish and welcoming ambiance, Kita continues to impress. We shared three rolls, each one showcasing a playful balance of texture and flavor. The "Black and Yellow Roll" was a vibrant blend of salmon, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, mango, and eel--sweet, creamy, and rich, yet refreshingly light. The "Fry Me a River Roll" was a decadent indulgence, with a medley of chopped fish and salmon paired with cream cheese, all deep-fried in a crispy spring roll wrapper--delightfully crisp on the outside and savory on the inside. Our favorite, though, might have been the "Surf and Turf Roll", a bold combination of panko shrimp, bacon, scallop delight, avocado, and asparagus, topped with seared ribeye and finished with a truffle soy drizzle. Every bite was a flavor bomb--luxurious and satisfying. All in all, Kita remains a go-to for a delightful sushi fix, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

My appetizer, Tuna Tataki, really stole the show for me. The combination of the lightly seared Tuna and cucumber really hit the spot. Very savory as well as invigorating. My wife enjoyed her Hibachi Chicken and Philadelphia roll, two classic items that need no explanation. Now for the Beef Udon Soup, I didn't know what to expect but I was surprised in a good way. A ton of food in a nice chicken broth. It's the little things though, for example the way the green onions were sliced. I would recommend this Japanese steakhouse.
