Wang's has been around a looooooong time ('85 for the details people), only it used to be known as the Summer Palace.
I've been a couple of times since it was refurnished as Wang's and as Chinese restaurants go its definitely not a bad one to pick in the area.
Chinese restaurants are a strange breed, its rare to find a really good one in the North. I have had really good Chinese when I went to the Yang Sing a few years back but bar that no Chinese stands out for me as a 'I must go back there'
Wang's is not bad, it is also not mind blowing.
A Negative would be that parts of their menu seem to have no spicy kick at all (Satay Chicken, Salt n Pepper Ribs) to another part of the menu where it's nearly too hot to eat (Chinese Curry), they don't appear to have any middle ground. For me personally that's not a bad thing as I'm not a spice kinda person, but its something that is often commented on by people I'm with or people I know who've gone at some point.
Beer nothing to write home about usual gubbinz and obligatory Chinese beers thrown in for good measure.
Service is a bit hit n miss , they are very friendly, but a little lax, you find yourself looking around for someone when you want another drink, and even when you are at the stage of wanting to pay the bill they seem to wander off and leave you sat there wanting to pay. read more
