Came here as a party of 10 to celebrate a work colleague's birthday. Tried to making a booking both via email and phone but was unsuccessful, but this place is so huge, you can totally get away with not making a reservation. Still their non-responsiveness doesn't show great customer service.
Food wise, there are so many choices available in the buffets, that even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something to eat. However not all of it is great. If I were to come back again, I would totally skip all the entrees - the pork balls, chicken fingers and spring rolls tasted very weird-oily. My recommendation would be the hot and sour soup which was great.
Also if you don't want to have fresh noodles prepared on the wok or get grilled food on the Teppanyaki, they have a choice of 4 items (fried rice, fried noodles, sweet and sour pork and soy-sauce chicken) pre-prepared and available on the buffet table. I didn't like the taste of the pork, and the chicken was good but the soy sauce used smelled and tasted super funky, so might just get rice and noodles next time, both of which items were perfectly serviceable.
Next I tried out the dim sum bar. There were 3 choices of dim sum available. The pork and mushroom and chicken were both too salty for me, but the prawn was perfect. Wish could have had more of just the prawn.
My last venture was to the teppanyaki buffet which had 12 choices of meat and veg, incl three kinds of fish, salmon, mussels, chicken, beef, and frogs legs. Veg options included onions, mushrooms and zucchini. But if you are a strict vegetarian it sucks that the same teppanyaki hot plate is used for cooking both meat and veg options. As the vegetarian diner in our group observed - Would have be nice if there was a separate hot plate to cook the vegetables.
I found my Teppanyaki choices of chicken to be too salty and the mussel to not be so great and I was told to avoid the salmon and after a bite, agreed with the recommendation. I loved the whitefish and frog legs as they cooked up a treat. Am glad chose the teppanyaki over the wok option as the people who did get the wok complained that the vegetables lacked the satisfying crunch normally associated with fried noodles and secondly the sauce used was so much it drowned out the individual flavours of the food itself.
I opted for something hot, but there are also 2 buffet tables available full of selections from a cold salad bar (olives, cheese, tomato, feta, marinated octopus, etcetera). I didn't try any of the sushi available here.
My last buffet selection was choosing thru the many selection of fruit (Orange, grape, pineapple, peach, melon and lychee). If you feel like you want a less healthy option then there are 8 selections of ice cream and a Madeira cake, apple pie and cheesecake!
For 15 bucks it totally was very inexpensive but food wise, nothing really stood out except maybe the frog leg and white fish options on the Teppanyaki and the prawn dim sum. Oh yeah, maybe for the 1st time I went to a Chinese restaurant and there were no fortune cookies!!!! read more
