The bartender was on point all night (Kels) quick, attentive, and somehow still made it feel personal even when things got busy. You can tell they actually care about their craft, not just pouring drinks but creating an experience. Every recommendation hit. Drinks were balanced, creative, and consistent--no shortcuts, no guesswork. On top of that, the energy they brought completely changed the vibe of the place. Friendly without being overbearing, professional without being stiff... just the right mix. It's rare to come across someone who can run a bar and make everyone feel like a regular at the same time. I wanted to go to Cole Commons in Fort Campbell to try the buffet with a new lady friend but they were closed for a very late brunch. The staff there recommended that we go to The Zone to dine at for a nice meal. When we both came inside, I was excited yet creeped out a bit. There were no females there except the staff. It has a very masculine energy. It kind of made me feel the same way I felt when I went to all male biker bar with a crazy chic when I was 15. I told my friend not to leave me alone in that place. She wasn't thrilled either but we decided to be open to this experience. The ladies restroom was clean and sanitary yet funny (in a very bad way). Look at the picture inserted below. We sat at the bar and tried to order a cocktail. It seemed only beer and soft drinks were available, No gin & tonics (boo hoo). No wine. Every cocktail listed on the menu were unavailable due to the lack of ingredients. The only one left was a Bahama Mama but she was missing two ingredients but the bartender said she could use a "substitute" . We were going to order food but a friend of my friend came in, and he said they were putting up a buffet of free food for everyone here! He invited us to partake in this nice buffet of Southern Food. SWEET! The cocktails we had looked red and tasted sweet and good but it did not look and taste like the tropical fruity rum drink Bahama Mama. It tasted and looked like that drink/ shot Red Headed Slut. So I called the drink a "Slutty RedNeck Bahama Mama". They were freaky good and we ordered them again. We liked our bartender, she was very kind and professional. I talked with her and my friend about eye colors, Hawaii, and the beach. When it came to pay the bill, we were told someone had paid for it. Mysterious?!?! I still wanted to tip the bartender. She said no that we were not suppose to tip her - that it was taken care of. I still slipped her a 20 and walked out with my friend. What an experience!!!! One of the creepiest bars and places I have went to in Fort Campbell. Free and tasty Southern comfort food.
