Cod was overlooked and rubbery. Mussels lacked any discernible flavour; same as the cod which fad no seasoning at all, just the char from the grill. Frites were cold--seriously no warmth to them at all. The roasted potato was and cod were drenched in oil. The green beans were the best thing about the meal, because they were simply plain old steamed green beans. Service was entirely slow and unresponsive. I visited Paris from Atlanta, GA, USA. I must say this place is amazing. The platter with the fries, mussels, 2 whole lobster, calamari, lobster tail and crab is good for four people. Trust me there was three of us, we got full and there was alot remaining. What the menu does not say is that it also come with 2 large pans of fries, white rice and a big pot of gumbo. We also ordered the steak platter. Soo good. The wait wasn't that long. We went on a Monday night and waited about 30 min. The restaurant was packed. This restaurant is in a sketchy area so I do not suggest walking from the metro. If you don't have a car take a taxi. read more

Great place. It's very popular, so we had an hour wait on a Friday night. If you are from the US, it might help to arrive earlier (before 7pm I'm guessing), as dinner in Paris hits peak after 7:30(?). We got what most people there got...the seafood platter for two (with mussels, 2 types of lobsters, crab, shrimp, calamari, and fries). Great seafood at decent price, although we didn't like the mussels. We only finished half the mussels; nobody there seems to finish it. Perhaps see if you can replace the mussels with something else. read more

Love this place, just thinking about it makes me want to go back to France! Tips that I can share: 1. Make sure to check what time they open and close. I remembered that they close for dinner, so the server was so gracious to admit us eventhough it's about to close. There are still some customer but they want to make sure to be ready for the upcoming traffic of diners. As we were leaving, saw that there was a long line already for the dinner time. We didn't finished our food, so had it to go. I guess it's not common in Paris to bring your food to go if you didn't finish it. But hey, we're tourist, so that's that. 2. I mentioned that we had to have our food to go, why because the €40 dish (prawns with thin crispy photo similar to Picnic snack and shrimp in a big silver platter, top it off with a pot of seafood gumbo soup, rice and a huge plate of fries). Enough to feed 4 people. So yes we had to bring the prawns, the platter to go. Finished the soup though. 3. I left a tip, some European places frown at this. It's up to you if you do or don't, it's not mandatory. For the service, I def did it for that reason. 4. The area is not in the main street, so if you are commuting, try to be there bright and early or around lunch time (which probably be packed). We came around 15:00 (3:00), which is why they were not supposed to admit us anymore to prep for the evening crowd. Due to the oddity of the area and safety. If you grab über or taxi, then you should be fine. It was so close to where were staying, so we walked. (iBis hotel in Porte Doree). Refreshing! Will definitely going back to this place! read more

I would give food a 4 star but service not that great should take one star off. However, adding one more for their waiters beautiful voices singing multi-language birthday song, very impressive. The food is ok, not that great. As the price they charged, they should clean the shrimp back, at least for cooked food. They didn't. They put everything over the table, didn't tell you how to use the sauces, They left porridge at you side table, didn't mentioned a word. It was busy and crowded, but each customer deserve what they pay for a good service. read more

This review is a little late as I ate here over the winter but it's taken me that long to come out of my food coma. There's the saying "quality over quantity" but Pedra Alta doesn't force you to make a choice. Quality seafood in enormous quantities. While I was looking over the menu a couple the table over was working on an amazing seafood platter. They told me they had ordered a platter made for a one which was more than enough food for them Seeing as both I and my food partner in crime love to eat we foolhardily ordered a dozen oysters and a platter meant for 2-3 people. You don't come here for a fine dining experience, you come to be elbow deep in seafood. The staff gives you a large bowl to throw all your shells. Our platter had mussels, shrimp, crab, and grilled squids all on a bed of shoestring pomme frites soaking up all the seafood juices. On the side you also get a pot of seafood and rice soup. The seafood was amazingly fresh and cooked perfectly. The soup and frites were delicious and offered a nice change of pace when I needed a break from the fantastic seafood. Despite our valiant efforts in the end some fries, soup, and mussels were left uneaten. Price was a good for the amount and quality of food. Just writing this review makes me want to hop on a plane to Paris! Get there early, we arrived a while before opening and there was already a crowd. read more

A Fri night and just me, 40 min wait but well worth it! Since I was solo the menu choices were a little limited without over-ordering. Next time I'll get one of my buddies to tag along. This restaurant was highly ranked by the website. However waiting time is terrible and there is lack of logic for the line. We are very hungry but still no idea when we will have table. I don't recommend this restaurant especially for 3 person. It is terrible experience. read more

Where is minus 5 star? Food here is horrid. Portions are big, but the shells take up 80% of the space anyways. Seafood, definitly worse than not fresh. Meat, OMG, must be from the discount shelves one day before expiration. I am a foodie but really i stopped eating after 15 mins, 10 of which was spent on cracking shells or trying to cut through the steak that won't budge. read more
