Just getting into 3800 address is a challenge. Not just me, as I ran across others on my long way…read morein asking each other where to go now. * Buildings are poorly marked from parking lot view. I never did see a sign that identified the building as 3800, I went to another address and figured it out. * There are various parking lots with signs telling why you can't park in that lot. *It was a walking maze, I met a woman who was clearly disabled as she could not find a handicapped entrance or easy entrance. * Inside I thought I would look for a cafeteria for a later stop, a few signs said they had one but wasn't clear where it was. Finally saw a sign that said it closes at 1pm. That's still lunch! * Restroom, just tried one, door lock didn't work properly, No soap in container, No hot air dryer, paper towel dispenser out of paper, no hot water. Oh yes there is sign regarding "clean hands are healthy hands". Found my waiting room which was pleasant and quiet and decorated in soft tones. Not much waiting, (I spent so much time trying to find my way it was getting late). I saw a specialist for a not to serious matter and felt rushed. I don't think I spent more than 12 minutes in his care. No one saw me out of the room.

I went in for an annual check up with a new doctor after my primary care doctor at another clinic…read moreretired. During my visit, they told me I needed to do a follow up procedure for a test, which they booked for me during that appointment. After I went to the procedure, they sent me a bill for $2,000 and said it was because I was out of network. Mind you, my original appointment was IN network, so I didn't fathom that the procedure they booked me for would be out of network... had I known that, I would have just gone to Planned Parenthood and gotten the procedure done there for an affordable price? Then I spent the next year calling them and my insurance company trying to figure out why it wasn't being covered, neither Park Nicollet nor my insurance could figure why I was being denied coverage. Eventually I got sent to collections because it was taking too long to sort out, and now it has been a year and a half and I am still paying $100/month to pay off that appointment.

Our son was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. Immediately after our 20 week ultrasosund,…read morewe knew we needed to find the best doctor and surgeon in our area. My husband is a doctor, so naturally we/he did a lot of research and met with different professionals. We had heard good things about Children Minneapolis, and Dr. Robert Tibesar, but eventually made the decision that were going to use a doctor at Gillette Childrens. As a parent, this is a very scary thing to go through and there is no confirmation you are choosing the right doctor for your child. After our sweet son was born (at Abbott) we called our chosen doctor at Gillette's to come over and meet his new patient. To our surprise, the Children's team showed up immediately, and Dr. Robert Tibesar himself (as well as his phenomenal team) came to see and check on our sweet baby each day. After many days passed, we needed to confirm our doctor for procedures that were needed after birth. Our Gillette doctor still had not been over to meet his new patient. We went down to the hospital cafeteria (where we spent a lot of time in the first few weeks as our son came early) and were feeling anxious and nervous about what to do. We pulled a "1-2-3" say your Doctors name out loud and both my husband and I had 100% switched our doctor vote to Dr. Robert Tibesar. We were so blown away by his patient care and just got the best feeling; we have NEVER regretted our decision. He is very professional, yet compassionate letting you have a voice in your childs long term care plan. I was very worried as a mom not knowing what to expect with a cleft child, and he has made our road so easy and truly worry free! We were blown away after our son had his first surgery (cleft lip repair). He looked SO good; everyone comments on how great his repair looks. And beside everything above, we come to learn that Dr. Tibesar, has multiple cleft children of his very own to love and care for at home. He is just wonderful. I have a good friend who also has a cleft baby, and when we discuss our journeys, she always says she is very envious of our doctor. We truly feel blessed that God directed us his way! For all new parents to a cleft baby, do not worry. If you choose Dr. Tibesar you will be in the BEST hands.
