Sometimes I arrive early and they adjust the schedule so that I can be seen early instead of having to wait until my appointment time. Dr. Rayner listens to my concerns and let's me know my options. I decided against the swine flu vaccine for my child, and although he said it was safe, he respected my wishes and said a prayer over her with me. He is very knowledgeable and is always available for any concerns that I may have. He is gentle with my daughter who is absolutely terrified of the doctor's office. At the end the give out stickers or a book with her favorite cartoon character. I would highly recommend him!

Every time I went with my son I felt he was always in the best care and treatments if needed for any medical needs. He always explained and listened to any concerns. Spent time and knows his patients not like most Doctors. Through my sons teen years he addressed not only medical needs but his needs as a young man entering adulthood. Well now my son is off to college this year and we will miss Dr Rayner dearly as when your physician can make a impact on your child's development not just for his health but as a mentor as well is a blessing forever cherished. I always felt he actually cared about my son not just take you in the office hand you medicines do only what's needed and on to the next patient. He always prayed not only for my son but as a family as a whole. This is truly from my heart Dr Loris Rayner you are and always will be a blessing to my family. Thank you being our Doctor.

She has changed our daughter's life in a time when we were stranded in the healthcare system and in need an advocate, confidant, friend, quarterback, and counselor for our family, especially for our little one, who faces more medical challenges than most children. We had found ourselves ignored at larger city pediatric groups and were recommended to Dr. Weems, a decision that we are thankful for every single day. Dr. Weems is incredibly caring, compassionate, forthright, knowledgeable and brings a down-to-earth, parent-to-parent approach to our daughter's care. Plus, it is unbelievably apparent how much she truly cares about our little one on a personal level. There are very few days where we don't talk, check-in and just connect on the happenings in our complicated medical situation. We often rely on her as a pillar of support and to help us when we don't know where to turn. She is truly the backbone of our greater support team and she works with all of our doctors at Lurie's, visits our daughter in the hospital and does ANYTHING she can to provide world-class care. As a parent, the most important thing is the health and well-being of our children and to feel like we have a partner in this convoluted healthcare system that has our best interests in mind. Dr. Weems has enriched our daughter's life and we will be forever thankful for her care.

I have many more stories like this highlighting the ways she's saved us. Best investment and decision we've made! We only have the best things to say!

One gave me the third degree when I asked for a piece of paper to write a note. She wanted to know who my mother was, what room she was in..all over a piece of paper. I should have asked the nurse HER name instead. When I asked to speak to a nursing supervisor I was told I had to go "through the chain of command " and my concern "would be passed on via the charge nurse." I called the patient advocate line to seek assistance twice last week. I am having a bit of trouble navigating a nonmedical issue with my mother. No one has had the decency to return my call. For an institute whose mission is "a mission of love providing a compassionate presence.." I am afraid to see what it would look like if this was not their mission...

Yeah, that didn't happen but we've figured out what to avoid. Fast forward seven years and my oldest is having a lot of stomach pain and chronic diarrhea. Saw Dr. Rodriguez who seemed great. She ordered labs and an ultrasound. After two weeks I still hadn't heard anything. I called multiple times and left messages with not one return phone call. After three weeks, I finally asked her GP if she could look into the situation. She couldn't get a call back either but was able to access the ultrasound and it was normal. The lab results were not available at all. Now we are four months since the only appointment we've had here and my child is still having stomach pain and diarrhea. I was really hoping Dr. Rodriguez would help my child and instead I am left trying to figure out my own diagnosis.
