Well now my son is off to college this year and we will miss Dr Rayner dearly as when your physician can make a impact on your child's development not just for his health but as a mentor as well is a blessing forever cherished. She has changed our daughter's life in a time when we were stranded in the healthcare system and in need an advocate, confidant, friend, quarterback, and counselor for our family, especially for our little one, who faces more medical challenges than most children. We had found ourselves ignored at larger city pediatric groups and were recommended to Dr. Weems, a decision that we are thankful for every single day. Dr. Weems is incredibly caring, compassionate, forthright, knowledgeable and brings a down-to-earth, parent-to-parent approach to our daughter's care. Plus, it is unbelievably apparent how much she truly cares about our little one on a personal level. There are very few days where we don't talk, check-in and just connect on the happenings in our complicated medical situation. We often rely on her as a pillar of support and to help us when we don't know where to turn. She is truly the backbone of our greater support team and she works with all of our doctors at Lurie's, visits our daughter in the hospital and does ANYTHING she can to provide world-class care. As a parent, the most important thing is the health and well-being of our children and to feel like we have a partner in this convoluted healthcare system that has our best interests in mind. Dr. Weems has enriched our daughter's life and we will be forever thankful for her care.

One gave me the third degree when I asked for a piece of paper to write a note. She wanted to know who my mother was, what room she was in..all over a piece of paper. I should have asked the nurse HER name instead. When I asked to speak to a nursing supervisor I was told I had to go "through the chain of command " and my concern "would be passed on via the charge nurse." I called the patient advocate line to seek assistance twice last week. I am having a bit of trouble navigating a nonmedical issue with my mother. No one has had the decency to return my call. Yeah, that didn't happen but we've figured out what to avoid. Fast forward seven years and my oldest is having a lot of stomach pain and chronic diarrhea. Saw Dr. Rodriguez who seemed great. She ordered labs and an ultrasound. After two weeks I still hadn't heard anything. I called multiple times and left messages with not one return phone call. After three weeks, I finally asked her GP if she could look into the situation. She couldn't get a call back either but was able to access the ultrasound and it was normal. The lab results were not available at all. Now we are four months since the only appointment we've had here and my child is still having stomach pain and diarrhea. I was really hoping Dr. Rodriguez would help my child and instead I am left trying to figure out my own diagnosis.
