Please, please, please consider Eastern Hills Pediatrics for your little one!…read more Back story: I used a different Pediatrician for my daughter for the two months of her life. I was criticized by this doctor and really felt like I was failing as a Mom. She didn't appreciate that I preferred to pump since my little one wouldnt latch. She also mixed up a food allergy with a skin allergy. Fast Forward: I met Nancy Brashear with Eastern Hills Pediatrics at a local baby expo. Nancy immediately took me under her wing and reassured me that I was doing great (first time mom) and that my baby was medically perfect! Nancy and the staff gave a wonderful first impression! I called right away to schedule an appointment and was in right away, they now accept most if not all insurance- awesome! It's a little complicated to find (building behind Mercy Anderson, 3rd floor) but once you're inside, you know it's the place you want to treat your child. Extremely clean and bright, sick vs well areas, tons of educational literature for parents and fun toys for kiddos. The exam rooms have very classy themes and the furniture is top notch. The nurses are all very nice and professional. Appointments are always quick yet thorough. I cannot praise Nancy Brashear enough. She has uplifted me from complete meltdowns in office regarding my baby's health. She's always a phone call away, which I've utilized and she has personally left me voicemails regarding results from important tests. I've also called the nurse hotline a few times and they always call back right away and give me the correct answer for my little one. I've also had Dr. Furby when Nancy wasn't available: he is a very smart, thorough Doctor. Plus, what kid doesn't love getting a sticker at the end of their appointment? They never run out ;)

My 8 children have been part of this practice for 30+ years. As long as the kids are healthy this…read morehas been a good practice. Truly only had one mishap through the years till recently. Last 3 children have been healthy, and I slacked on their physicals. We were dropped from the practice, which was understandable. However, we received no communication telling us that we no longer had a doctor. We didn't find out until an emergency situation when the doctor's refused treatment and told us to go elsewhere. To me this showed a lack of integrity, trust and what about that hippocratic oath? This instance showed a huge lack of professionalism.

The adult group is made up of four male physicians, a male physician assistant and a female nurse practitioner. I am female and and saw one of the male physicians for a new health issue (I saw him a total of two times). I do feel he proceeded with the appropriate tests, etc. The problem is with lack. One of test results was alarming and I had basic questions. My physician was off that day, which was fine, so I asked the clinical staff to have the on-call physician return my call of which he did not. I found out later, my personal physician called the staff and asked THEM what my questions were and that he would follow up with me via MyChart. He did follow up via MyChart answering one of five questions. I asked via MyChart (that is their preferred method of communication - no one every calls you) to be transferred to another physician. within the practice for care. I was instructed (via MyChart) the transferring physician denied my request for transfer. Clearly I made the physicians angry and the physicians took my request personally.

I asked my daughter for her OK for me to write this review and she gave me the green light. If I…read morecould give Dr. Slaven at Forest Hills a rating of "zero stars" I would. I left our last and final appointment with her literally shaking with anger. FHP was the first office we picked when we moved to Anderson Twp several years ago because of its location. I haven't really had anything good or bad to say about the place. We didn't see a specific doctor and we didn't form any type of relationship with one during our 3 years. This is a little odd, as we loved her KY pediatrician and we LOVE her Children's MD, who is basically a Hogwart's wizard of kindness and genius. We went to FHP for just a basic physical a couple weeks back and saw Dr. Slaven. Dr. Slaven told us both that my daughter has probably stopped growing and wouldn't even be 5'4". First off, I'M solidly 5'4" in bare feet and everyone always observes that my kid is taller than me. THEN, right in front of my daughter, Dr. Slaven tells us that my daughter is 148 pounds "not overweight yet, but we will want to start monitoring that." I was SPEECHLESS. My daughter is a student and club athlete who has been to weightlifting/conditioning every other day this summer with her class, the girl is pure muscle (and yes, I'm both shallow and factually realistic, I would have zero qualms acknowledging if my kid was overweight or not). And, if my kid was overweight, that would be MY job as her parent to police and the pediatrician's job to take me to the side and discuss with me discreetly. I don't know if Slaven's brain was short-circuiting that Friday or if she really is that stupid with managing her bedside manner with physically and emotionally developing YAs. Slaven then observed that my daughter's acne had cleared up significantly - yes, no thanks to medical advice given/or RX suggestion ever offered by the medical staff at FHP. I had to hit up online research independently and ask FHP write a Tretinoin RX. And, about 6 months ago our Children's MD merely looked at my daughter and immediately recognized she had a staph infection and prescribed her 2 months of antibiotics that took care of this issue. When we left Slaven/FHP, I was still trying to process if my angry reaction to Slaven's weight comment in front of my daughter was reasonable or not. My daughter was quiet during the drive home, and then she finally asked "so, was she [Slaven] saying that I'm big?" And, later that evening my daughter was not hungry at dinner and didn't want to eat it. DONE. The FHP check-up was on a Friday, I transferred my daughter's records to a pediatrician's office down the road that following Monday. Slaven/FHP do not deserve a patient like my kid, and I will take my insurance and out-of-pocket dollars elsewhere. FYI, Children's, an actual reputable and nationally recognized hospital, confirmed two weeks later that my daughter is 5'5.5", and 140 pounds - perfectly and happily healthy and fit.

I wanted to be the first person writing a review of this pediatric practice because I have had…read morereally great service here. While the decor may be old fashioned, and the phone communication difficult (between a Kentucky accent and my Belgian accent, we needed a few tries to get my name spelled correctly etc.), the care has been great so far. I have only visited doctor Adley and absolutely trust him 100% with our little baby (2 months). I saw him for a pre-birth visit, a few days after the birth of our girl, at the 1 and 2 month check up. Actually, I always make sure I schedule our appointments on a Monday so I know he'll be in. It's important to find someone you trust especially when you're living abroad and I just feel like I can always call this practice and that Dr. Adley will help out. His advice has been really helpful and down to earth, which I really appreciate!

We've seen about 3 different doctors, all who are extremely knowledgeable, but our favorite and most trusted doctor is Dr. Kevin Kelly. He's great with our son and he is always in a happy, cheerful mood. He explains things to us in great detail and is always very friendly. The staff is overall very friendly too. They often give us plenty of samples of formula which has been very helpful! About the facility; it's very home-like, perhaps because the practice is located in a huge home which has been turned pediatric office. The waiting room just feels like you're sitting in grandma's living room. The patient rooms all have very cute pictures painted on the walls. I love the place! I would recommend it to all my family and friends!
