Scheduling an appointment was easy and I was able to do all the initial paperwork online before the appointment. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe here was so calm and relaxed. I was fully prepared to have to hold him down while they brushed his teeth but the appointment was literally a dream. Dr. Vanessa and her team were SO good with him, they let him sit in my lap (table-top style) while she brushed & flossed and he cooperated fully! That visit did NOT go well, and she wouldn't even open her mouth for them to count her teeth. A year later, I finally decided to try a new dentist to make sure her teeth were looking good, and discovered Sweet Tooth. I was very anxious about her appointment that she might meltdown like the last attempt, but was very pleasantly surprised. She let them do x-rays at the beginning, and happily followed all of the hygienist's instructions from that point on! They had a TV mounted on the ceiling playing Bluey (genius!) which helped to distract her, and they made her feel comfortable the entire time. We quickly put the tooth in milk and then I called the Dr.'s emergency line while his mom tended to him. I could hear Dr. Fales family celebrating the holiday in the background of our phone call. Dr. Fales had me explain the situation and then without hesitation he said he would meet our family at his office in 20 minutes. Never did he make me feel like we were intruding on his holiday. Dr. Fales put the tooth back in and secured it. My sister-in-law noted how kind and gentle he was and that he never rushed (remember, he left his own family on Christmas to help ours). I was just so impressed with him. He saved my nephew's tooth on Christmas. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Fales.

But my most recent experience was so pleasantly memorable, I felt compelled to post a review. It was not just a routine cleaning, which have all been fine, but a replacement of old cavity fillings. First of all, I did not feel a THING when the novacaine injection was administered. I mean, seriously, I was sitting there wondering "did he inject the novacaine yet?" before I realized yes he had. And I'm kind of a baby about novacaine in the first place. Secondly, the whole procedure was done smoothly, with excellent teamwork between Dr. Alexander (I hope it's Dr. Alexander and that I'm getting his name right, he's great) and the technician (sorry, I don't remember her name but she's great too, very personable and professional). They had a good collaboration where she could anticipate what he needed next and when I needed to be suctioned, etc. It just went very smoothly. Felt no pain, and it was efficiently done. Thirdly, I needed no adjustment at all. Sometimes with these fillings, it can end up a little high, and your bite just isn't quite right. Nope, 24 hours later I don't even REMEMBER that I just had these fillings done. The bite was perfect on the first try. And you have what you need - tissues, cups, rinse, bing, bang boom, procedure done, you're on your way. Oh yeah, I forgot, you can even eat and drink RIGHT after the procedure is finished. And I did (sorry, I know I said I wouldn't when I was there but I did because I COULD) eat and drink shortly afterwards and had no problems at all. And the staff are great. They're nice to you when you arrive and good about scheduling and great about billing. They listen to you, pay attention, they just do a great job with customer service. I've left physicians practices solely based on the behavior of the office staff even if I like the physician. Not an issue with Olathe Famly Dentistry, they're great to work with. And they accept my dental insurance (MetLife Dental).

Dentists and hygienists were awesome. Drs Alexander and Bevan retired a few years ago and things have totally changed. This practice is all about the money now and definitely not the personalized service that it once was. They insisted I needed a new bridge and we're incredibly high pressure about how I was going to pay the out of pocket portion. I have found another dentist who I'm very happy with and by the way there is nothing wrong with my bridge three to four years later.
