We are highly dissatisfied with Croixside Home Improvements. We DO NOT recommend using them for…read moreyour kitchen. After the initial estimate with Mike, it has been disappointment after disappointment: -Delays in product orders. -Unreliable timeline (estimated 8-10 weeks resulted in total of 7 months.) -Subpar subcontractors essentially causing our kitchen to be redone twice. -Lack of communication/unprofessional with delayed responses to our concerns throughout the entire process. -Incorrect initial measurements causing reorders. -Reorder color was wrong and owner Mike being dishonest about this. -Did not honor his listed veterans discount. -Purposely vague contract which covered their flaws (we spoke with a lawyer multiple times about our issues that we unfortunately could do nothing about). It took 7 months from contract signing until completion. Seven months! Well the kitchen looks done, the process has been nothing but disheartening. Overall, AVOID THIS COMPANY.

We recently had eight windows replaced by Croixside. We live in a nearly 100 year old home, and…read moreironically, it was the windows replaced in (we think) the early 1970s that were the most awful - drafty, poorly insulated and rickety. So we started with those, in our kids' rooms and two bathrooms. We also had one completely new window put in, where there was formerly just a tiny vent window. Mike from Croixside was very thorough and very informative when we had him visit to consult. He did not do an aggressive hard sell as several other companies did, or try to get us to do more than we can afford at this point in time. That alone made us strongly consider Croixside. But he was also helpful with financing information and very helpful in explaining what we could expect for timing, the job itself, and the windows' performance. Our timeline was more than met. Our windows arrived a little early, so we were actually bumped up a bit in the schedule. The installer was very nice, but also very work oriented, and completed the installation in the time we were told to expect. He left the job site very clean, was fine and friendly to our little old dog, and worked quickly and quietly. Some of the windows we were replacing were so awful that even with plastic shrink weatherproofing the draft would just pour in during the winter. It is wonderful to walk into a bathroom in November and not have a chilly draft! One of our kids had such an awful window he would get an occasional scrim of ice on the surface of his water glass overnight! Now his room is toasty. The windows look super appropriate to the house, and blend in incredibly well. They will be easy to clean, all from the inside, which is great as most of them are on the second floor. We will be calling Croixside again when we are ready to do more window replacement, and would recommend them enthusiastically for their good product and good work.

It's much brighter than the dingy old planks, which were replaced with a composite Trex flooring that matches the shakes on our house. Railings and posts are white, and the crew even added a doggie gate so our dogs can spend time on the deck but cannot go down to back yard. The workmanship was excellent; the crew took pains to do everything correctly. The crew - Ben, Colin and Steve - was fantastic! Extremely good at their jobs and the three of them enjoyed working as a team. They were very nice, we missed having them around when the job was finished! We highly recommend this company and will for sure use them again. Anne Martin, Woodbury MN

So there was allot of back and forth as to what was promised and what we actually ended up getting. A 3 week job took 6-8 months at one point had a trailer in my front yard for a couple months during holidays thanksgiving and Christmas all the siding off the house. Family came up looked horrible to have family arriving and no siding and a Krumm enclosed trailer in the front yard. There's allot more I asked that my windows and aluminum siding be left at my residence was told no problem. It was all hauled off. Told them I wanted no holes in my roof. They installed a satellite dish that was not hooked up back in the roof. I asked to have the shudders put back in the home. The guys argued everytime I mentioned it. You don't want that. You'll get wasps. Ya I do t want that. My wife does! The mate are cheap mernards crap windows and metal. Windows ordered were wrong size. Corners of the edges of home have gaps in the top. They didn't want to do the facia when they did they threw it up looks like crap. I can keep going. I in no way would recommend this company. I'd say stay away at all costs. When the facia they put up came loose. Took about 3 weeks to a month to have that nailed back up. Bent nail under a shingle the same thing. I highly recommend using any other company.

I called my insurance company (State Farm) and they are paying for a new roof and siding! Lisa, from Tacheny exteriors has been working with me since the beginning. She has been nothing but amazing the whole way through. If you think your home was affected by that hailstorm, give Lisa a call for a free estimate to see if you can get a new roof and siding for your own home! My roof was done today, and I could not be happier. It is absolutely beautiful and so well done. They even added new vents for better air circulation for upstairs. I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 because the finished product appears to be fine. Not what I…read morewanted, but it is what it is at this point. The ProVia Endure windows are functioning well, and the lifetime warranty provides some reassurance, though that confidence was significantly eroded by the process of getting here. A 1-star rating would be justified based on the experience alone. I hired Tacheny Exteriors in June 2025 to install three ProVia Endure casement window sets in my home. The project involved creating new rough openings, headers, and framing. The original contract was $15,200. Electrical work was not in the bid. Once walls were opened, wiring needed to be relocated, adding $1,458. This can happen with older homes and is worth knowing going in. If you're having new openings cut, it may be advisable to have your own electrician on standby. In my case, I had no choice but to accept the price given since the walls were open and the project needed to keep moving. Two of three windows were installed approximately 11 inches from the agreed placement. The basement window was also misaligned by 4 inches horizontally and 1 inch vertically. Tacheny initially acknowledged these errors in writing and offered to move the windows. After key staff left the company, that acknowledgment was walked back, and I was told I should have drawn diagrams on the wall to prevent the error. The project consultant, installer, and production manager all left during my project. The building permit was filed incorrectly as a replacement rather than a new opening, causing a required framing inspection to be missed. Tacheny was notified by the city in July 2025 to correct it, but the inspection was never called in. When I raised this, I was told the error was the city's fault and that most cities no longer require mid-construction inspections. I verified both claims with the city inspector and neither was accurate. The inspector accepted photos but noted the gap in the final report and that a vapor barrier was not installed on the living room header. The permit was also filed at approximately $10,100 despite the contract being $15,200. The NFRC stickers on the installed windows did not match the ProVia spec sheets from contract signing, showing Southern climate ratings instead of North-Central with significantly different air infiltration numbers. ProVia would not provide formal written confirmation, so I obtained a signed letter from Tacheny confirming the correct windows were installed. This might not have been an issue at all, but my trust was completely undermined by this point. Communication was a consistent challenge with extended gaps in responses and claims of communications I never received. Information from Tacheny was sometimes inaccurate and had to be corrected after I verified details with the city inspector. The project required me hiring a lawyer and a negotiated $5,000 settlement adjustment. The initial invoice labeled this a "Goodwill Discount," mischaracterizing the adjustment, and had to be corrected. Contract to final payment took nine months. I want to note that the issues I experienced, including communication failures, installation errors, blame-shifting to the customer, permit and inspection problems, and extended project timelines, appear to be consistent with experiences described by other reviewers on both Google and the BBB. Potential customers researching Tacheny should also be aware that there are two separate Tacheny Exteriors listings on the BBB, one in Minnesota and one in Arizona, with the same logo. Make sure you are reading reviews for the correct location. The windows work fine. The challenges were in project management, communication, installation accuracy, and permits. Document everything in writing, verify permit claims with your city, and be prepared to manage the project yourself.
