The park is a nice size with some little league ballparks, clean restrooms, grassy areas for kids and dogs, tennis courts, playground and some nice walking paths. What I enjoy most about this park is how close it is to the mountains. Such beautiful views but they just keep building so I am not sure how much longer these views will last. Most often we use the park for birthday parties. We celebrate a lot of birthdays in our family because we have 16 nieces and nephews. Using the pavilion area makes things so easy. It offers several benches that are covered. They have a grill you can use too! I know you can reserve this place threw the City of Henderson, but we generally just hope that no one has reserved it and go. As far as the bathrooms go they are the cleanest park bathrooms I've seen. Although metal seats are scary! Lol And soap would be nice. That's a tip bring hand sanitizer. River Mountain park is a great place to set the kids free to run and play. It is also an excellent place for family gatherings!

The irrigation had been going off and most tables were wet or were still receiving overspray. We found a table that was dry. It was a nice, quiet area. The weather was threatening and there weren't many people there. A perfect place to have some conversation, snacks, and planning for the next week.

A full court basketball court, restrooms, a small covered sitting area, a playground area for small children that consist of climbing a small bridge and 3 slides. As well as the volleyball court which me and the kiddos took advantage of on this nice sunny day. We were on Fields 6-8 this past weekend, Youth Flag Football, NYS league, our team played against…read morethe Dolphins, many of the team players were unusually tall for the age group, definitely questionable; there were a lot of girls on the team, and two of the three that I saw were very tall. When most of the team are taller than adults, you gotta wonder. Turf ended up everywhere! On the dog, on everyone's clothes and shoes. Ugh. We were near the bathrooms. We overheard that the Soccer fields were behind the area we were at, so I'd say that this is in the middle of the park. In the distance, saw a sleeping homeless person on the table. It's in the pictures I added, if you want to check it out. Got a good look at the parking lot, which, I will say, again, that it is very tight.

There is one adjacent area that is a traditional park with benches and bathroom, etc. It has a small playground for kids. Then there are fields for use with permit, including two soccer fields. They also have a BMX track. The park itself is very well maintained, maybe the cleanest one I've been to this year. They had 2 people maintaining it while I was there. The parking lot is huge with some covered parking. All and all, it's a great park for outdoor sports enthusiasts and my dog didn't mind walking around here (he just likes to check out new places, sights and smells.)

I've been going to the pool practically weekly since it opened in May, and it's pretty great. They keep it very clean too. The pool is a pretty standard design, and has a small slide. There's also a kiddie pool, and many lifeguards. It's usually not busy, with weekends of course being busier. There are always plenty of loungers available; some with umbrellas. There is some covered seating too, it's kind of an open air cabana structure. A walking path winds through the park, which is well shaded in several areas. The park also has tennis, basketball and playgrounds. There is a lot of landscaping around this park, and a favorite area of mine is around the pool. There is a large landscape buffer adjacent to the pool and community center that includes pine trees. Portions of the park also have mountain views!

There is an elementary school across that street which is not listed on Yelp, so I'll add it here. Overall best park for there are many activities you can do here and meet your neighbors from adjoining districts. Vegas can be a very isolating place where neighbors seems to keep to themselves and good to have a community park to mingle and have a picnic.

My Yelp review apparently brought a ton of people here today. I have never seen more than 2-3 people at this park in the past. Today there were tons of people in BMWs and Mercedes hanging out. Obviously, they were all Summerlin residents. A couple of people kept telling me that some woman wrote a review on Yelp about how the Burros all just had babies and that's why they came here. A woman? Due to the fact that most people in Summerlin are illiterate and only have money because they are slightly less mentally disabled than the rest of Las Vegas, they have an inability to read the sign that reads: "$500 fine for feeding Wild Burros and Horses". Like every guy was feeding the burros today. Sheriff John McCarthy lives less than 50 feet from this park. And, the ranger and game warden come by every couple of minutes as well. I do not recommend ever feeding the burros here. Don't even bring food here for yourself. The burros are really persistent! One time they just kept leaning on me and pushing me with their heads until they were finally able to get the sandwich out of my hand. They even ate the meat in the sandwich. I thought burros were herbivores? What the hell is going on around here in Clark County? Next thing we know, these burros are gonna be eating people. The people at Blue Diamond are mostly all generally really friendly. The welcome center is actually located inside the church but is only open like 3 hours a day. Every house in Blue Diamond has at least 2 burros hanging out on the lawns.
