Zero stars if I could. Worst restaurant experience I've had--anywhere.
I had the misfortune of dining here alone while in Mijas. As soon as I walked in, I was ushered to the very back of the restaurant--can't help but wonder if it was because I didn't fit their idea of the "right" kind of tourist (i.e., not Nordic-looking).
I had a choice between this place and a spot right across the street. I picked this one because the menu listed individual servings of paella--four kinds, actually. Big mistake. I waited over 30 minutes for what turned out to be an absolute disaster of a dish.
The paella arrived looking sad and sloppy--completely unappetizing. I took a bite and instantly regretted it: salty as seawater and just plain gross. Easily the worst paella I've ever tasted. I only forced a few bites down because it cost nearly €18 and I didn't want to waste the money.
Things only got worse from there. I asked several servers--three or four--for the check and a glass of water. Neither came. My mouth was parched from the salt bomb I just ate. Eventually, someone dropped off the bill--but still no water. I intended to pay by card but again, no one came. After waiting forever, I gave up and luckily had just enough cash to cover the charge. The bill had the nerve to say, "Service not included."
I left the exact amount and walked out in search of real food--and basic human decency.
Avoid this place. Mijas has so many better options. read more
