I can't say enough how frustrating using their testing facilities has been. The first test I went to take (it was a high stakes test), the computers weren't working so they sent us home. Then at an at-home test, the shortcut function keys weren't working. It made taking the test very stressful. Then at the rebooked test (the first one), I encountered more problems with the shortcut function keys AND the proctor was in a room way down the hall. Every time I needed her (to check on the non-working shortcut keys), I had to wave my hands in front of the computer to get her attention so she could walk down a long hallway into the testing room--all while the clock was ticking. Terrible, so terrible. Now I'm trying to get either a refund or a free re-take on the test. And all of their contact numbers are not working. Must be shut down. Frustrating! read more

Horrible! I went in last Tuesday to take my exam, but they had technical issues. They ran an update on their computers and all their computers were down(update was taking over 2 hours). They said I could reschedule my exam and they would send me a link to do so. However, they refused to give a refund so you can reschedule it. You have to wait for them to process the claim, then you can reschedule it. I called today to check the status since it has been one week since my testing date. They said they have no clue when the claim will be processed. They said it usually takes 3-5 days to do this. I asked if they could just process a refund and I can schedule it online now. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have received approval to take my NCLEX-RN from the Board of Nursing on 8/19/2020 but as of today 8/28/2020, I have not received my Authorization-To-Test (ATT) from Pearson Vue. I contacted the Board of Nursing and they re-sent my approval on 8/25/2020 and 8/28/2020. So this is 3 times already that they have to send my approval to Pearson Vue. Per the Board of Nursing, they have many applicants who are not receiving ATT from Pearson Vue. I checked all information provided and all are correct (name, email, address, telephone number etc.) All fees are paid for as well. I contacted Pearson Vue on 8/25/2020 through online chat. Chatted with Evans who said he will elevate the problem to program coordinator and I should hear back within 24-48 hours. I did not hear from Pearson Vue within the time frame expected, so I contacted Pearson Vue again on 8/28/2020 via telephone this time to get a hold of a supervisor. Disgusted with this company. I pray this company goes out of business. The website is garbage. Scheduling is impossible. They will lose your account information. They will lose your appointment, and on test day, you'll have to reschedule. When you call, you will never speak to someone who's first language is English. The person you speak to will not have a good connection. It will be an Internet connection call. It will be delayed. It will be disrupted. They will be using a headset that doesn't work properly. They are not courteous. They will not slow down or speak clearly. They will make sure you know that is your problem. You will run a test on your computer to see if your computer is compatible. It will not be. You will call them and ask them how to fix the problem, and they will guarantee there will be no problem on test day. But there will be. Because once they get you to pay, nothing else matters to them. On test day, their software will not run on your computer. They will make you take photographs and videos of your home. If you take this test in your library or office, they will make you remove every book from the room. They will make you take a toothpick out of your mouth. They will make you remove ink pens from the room. They will make you turn off your phone and put it in another room. And then they will tell you they are going to send you a code on your phone that is turned off and in another room. It may take you over two hours to get the test started. Once the test is started, the Proctor will interrupt your test and tell you they're having problems with connectivity. The will ask you to reboot. Don't do this under any circumstance. When you reboot, they will FAIL you on the test and send you a case number. They do this so they don't have to help you further. After failure is recorded, you cannot reschedule or cancel. There is no refund. They will review your test in 7 to 10 days. You will need to call the state and let them know what has happened, otherwise you may receive a failing grade on your test. You will need to file a complaint with the state. This is the most incompetent company I have ever worked with in 52 years. There's not enough space to tell you just how bad they are. read more

Not sure about their in-person testing centers but I would avoid their online proctoring at all costs. I was set to take a 4-hour exam and wound up being kicked put after 50 min because I looked off-screen. Which is not an actual rule, by the way. Seems pretty unrealistic to expect people to keep their eyes glued to a screen for 4 hrs straight. Especially when they've had you show your whole room to them via the webcam. Anyway, beware. Do not take the online proctored exam. Half way through my 90 minute exam, they sent me a message saying that if I look off screen again, they will terminate the exam. I replied via the chat that I did not look off the screen. You can't move your eyes around to think about an answer to the question, and each time you move your eyes to the corner of the screen to click the "next question" button, you worry that the proctor will register this as cheating. Too much to worry about when one one is already anxious about passing the exam, you have to worry in addition that the administrator is going abruptly cancel it because of eye movements that look like they went off screen. All this for $200 exam voucher. And simply based on the thousands of negative reviews of this company, I would not give them your money. read more

Literally doesn't matter what test and where. This company has de facto monopoly on tests, professional certifications and is not controlled by anyone. No oversight really. You have no rights. Just pay, obey, be goose to be ripped. 1) They dictate prices of tests, conditions, everything. (Of course your test can get cancelled and they won't bother to let you know...) But you have to do so in 24 hour advance or no money... 2) They can test you from whatever material (even out of defined test material and textbooks listed). 3) They will incorporate into your professional certification number of blanks (questions that doesn't count for your performance, you don't know which one those are of course. Those are test questions company tests on you. No they won't pay you for being quinea pig. You will pay for them and of course you can't disagree to it. (Again they dictate what flies and they have monopoly). 4) tests - in normal world you take test and you know how the test result is calculated. Like from 100 questions you have to have 80 correct (each is point). Or you have more difficult ones for 3 point...and so. Pearson vue administer tests that no one can explain how it is "awarded". Its the computer based scaled adjusting aggregate..blah blah... Ok fine, but you still should know HOW is it done, how does it work, how does it calculate. Not some hush hush can't know mystery exam no one can explain methodology, formula or what exams are the "more difficult" and you need to get those right. Or if you have X number of questions that are "easier" you pass. Absolutely unon trasparent bullshit I say. Again how are test calculated - won't be explained (even pc has to have formula that was programmed) but you have no right to know. Just blindly obey, pay and shut up. No one will give you any EXACT information. Oh and if you don't agree to it - you can of course pay to have test reviewed...by the very same people... I just had the most absolutely rage inducing experiencing with Pearson Vue. I used their at-home test taking service to write an exam I have spent weeks studying for. I followed all the instructions (which were poorly written), including a system test, an early check in, and a review of the rules. When I started taking the test, the application kept freezing. Ironically, the only thing that was working was the clock - which kept counting down. Technical support was largely unhelpful, and literally ignored my questions about concerns around time and the frustration it caused me, which inhibited my exam writing performance. Once it froze for the THIRD TIME I finally got a call from someone in Massachusetts (which I will probably now be charged long distance for) who told me that they will not provide a voucher to retake this nearly 1000 dollar exam. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told there was none. I finally was able to get a case number after approximately an hour of waiting. That's when I was told that I have to continue writing the exam despite the fact that the clock was counting down the whole time. The customer service representative - Elizabeth, was kind but unhelpful. Then she told me that she was wrong about that, and that I didn't have to write the exam. So now I have to take this case number (which will come to me in 5 business days) and waste more time pleading for a reschedule that I may have to pay for because Pearson Vue screwed up. This is an outrage and I'll be making it clear in no uncertain terms that no one, under any circumstances, should do business with such a miserable and lousy company. 0 out of 5 stars. read more

I paid to take my practice test they went okay. When it came to test take it I paid $37.50 for each test (4) my first test I was waiting 20 minutes later after my appointment it kicked me out when I called them to see what happened the told me I have to wait 24-48 hours to retake the test okay so I guess I have to wait but like a dummy I go ahead and schedule my language arts test that is to at 11:15 I sit in the checkin process for an HOUR 12:15 pm they pick up and tell me we're sorry we were busy but if I would of closed my computer or logged out I would of been screwed thank good I left it open so I proceed to take my test and as I'm on the 3rd part of the test I hit next as I wait for the nest question guess what happens.... yup you got it it kicks me out so I call and they tell me I have to wait 24-48 and I have to go to a testing center to take my test mind you my job is on the line here and I can not go to a testing center because of health reason so at this point I'm over it and all the representatives that have working so instead of losing my shit I just said you k is what I'm not dealing with you people or this company I just want my money back and I'll go somewhere else (WWW.HISET.ORG) they gave me back just one payment of $37.50 and then told me to call back for my other refund on Monday for the other test their system kicked me out of Monday came and I called TWICE WAITED ON HOLD 2 hours and both times they hung up on me so today I called back waited on hold for a supervisor 1HOUR he told me sorry nothing we can do you gotta fill out a form to get a free test code I told him no I don't want to take my test with you I already have my test schedule with someone else so it makes no sense to give me discount code I'm not going to use it he proceeds to tell there's nothing I can do because they do give refunds I told him that's funny because you guys just refunded my my $37.39 on the 09/11/20 and it's on my bank statement he went silent and said please hold the got back on the phone and said we can give you a partial payment ($20) back I told him no that's won't work I want my money back I wasn't taking a partial refund I paid ($43.50) and guess what he did ??? Be sure to understand exactly what it is that you are getting into when dealing with this company. I would suggest that you take your business to their competitors. The problem with this is that they have none. I believe that is why they treat their customers the way that they do. If you wish to obtain professional certification from Microsoft, Apple, Autodesk, Adobe or others, you will probably not have a choice but to take the test through this company. So read their policies very carefully before you hand over your money. I've read many complaints with the BBB (where they have a D- rating) that they seem to have a lot of organizational issues where people have sat for exams only to find out that the testing equipment wasn't working the way it should or that the exam wouldn't load at all due to some fault in the system. These all seem to end the same way, with the person asking for a refund or a new voucher so that they can test under fairer conditions. Pearson VUE always responds by saying that there is nothing that they can do. That the actual testing centers are beyond their control. But offer the complainant the opportunity to take the exam again, at full price. How ethical of them. None of this happened to me. The testing environment couldn't have been better. Everything that was beyond their control was exactly as advertised. The problems came when the exam was finished and I was told that I did not pass. I believe that I answered 32 out of 35 questions accurately. Two questions I didn't attempt as I would have been completely guessing at them. And one I'm not 100% sure of because the question was asked in a way that left it very open to interpretation. But 32 out of 35 should still be passing. So I believed that the problem was in the test itself and how it was graded. When I brought this to their attention, their response was that there was nothing that they could do. They pointed me to their grievance policy which states that they look into all grievances and do a proper investigation. It then goes on to state that regardless of what they find, they will never tell you what the result was or how it would have affected your score or if it would have made the difference in passing or failing. They claim that this is for security reasons but I believe it's by design. By not telling a customer what they got wrong, how are they suppose to know what to file a grievance over. And then to come right out and say that if they do find a problem, they will not correct it. That's just wrong. I feel like I participated in a game where my opponent set all the rules, employed the refs as well as the sanctioning body and although I scored more points than they did, they were declared the winner (shocking, isn't it?). Then when I asked how they came to this conclusion, I was told that the answers were in the rule book. When I asked to be shown where in the rule book this was stated, I was told oh no no no, you can't see the book. It's a secret book. But trust us, it's in there. In reading the responses to their complaints I found an interesting pattern. They seem to respond to all complaints extremely promptly. And while the responses provide no resolution whatsoever to the problem, they all end the same way. Saying that THEY consider the matter resolved and would like it noted as such. Like providing a useless response in a timely manner solves the problem. It doesn't. read more

Yet, when I called to enquirer about a test no one informed me that one of their employees has tested positive for COVID-19. That makes me wonder? How many of their employees has tested positive for the Covid? And aren't they supposed to inform people of that? And offer testing or something? Pearson VUE head quarters in Minnesota have some of the most incompetent, hateful, and down right despicable human beings working in their customer service department... These people could care less about the person taking the test... Why, is it you have to take the test at there leisure, when there is endless amount of time slots available... Then call asking for a time change (2 hours later) knowing there are a ton of slots available and having them tell you that you have to pay again... They give you no resolution whatsoever... I have never been treated so poorly, thus far in my life, let alone in my own Country (U.S.A)... Something needs to be done and someone needs to regulate this Monopoly of a company called Peason-Vue... This has noting to do with my testing center location as workers there are great, always polite and accommodating... I scheduled a Facebook Blueprint test for 3pm the following day using Pearson Vue. I had to go back and forth through the process several times because I was new and wanted to make sure I was doing things correctly. Somehow through the process, my test time was set for 2pm, not 3pm. I had no idea this happened. I paid $150 for the test and marked it on my calendar. They sent an email which said 2pm, but I didn't catch it. There was no option on the email that gave an option to add to calendar (which would have resolved this), or a link to the actual testing URL. When I came to take the test at 3pm, I was told that the test was unable to be taken and I would need to pay another $150 to take the test again. I went to their live chat option and was connected with Vince (based in India) who said that there was nothing he could do to assist me. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, he gave me a phone number that just placed me on hold. In fact, I'm writing this now... as I'm on hold. Its currently been 28 minutes. I was just hoping to take my Facebook Blueprint test, but instead, I'm writing negative reviews and trying to help others avoid this mess. read more

William Jennings 14SEPT16 I took the Security+ test at Peason Vue Leonardtown, MD location. The computer was messed up. The lab assistant Called Pearson. They said, to reset the computer and telling the Lab assistant other things to try. All this, while the clock was ticking, because it is a timed test. I asked to take it from another computer. They said, NO! The lab assistant wouldn't let me talk to Pearon. The lab assistant asked if I wanted to open an incident report. Or just kiss my money goodbye. She Opened Incident Report #208149162 I left and called Pearon. I talked to somebody and they told me that it would be resolved in a few days and it shouldn't be any problem. Pearson has the WORST website. It is very user unfriendly! The people you chat with online are NO help what so ever! They will not escalate. I chatted with them after six days and they said, Give them a few more days. It has been over 2 weeks and they are still saying give them a few more days. I called up there a several times. One time I talked to somebody who couldn't speak English. A few times, after listening to a LONG preamble. They said, We are open 7am to 7pm. We are currently closed. That was during the week in the afternoon. They absolutley do not care! There is nothing I can do because They are the only game in town to do Certification.
