We didn't know much about the place, expect for some reviews we had read online. He really wanted some new frames that 'didn't look like all the others.' Enter Discerning Eye. We arrived to a bustling shop and were greeted right away. This place is a feast for the eyes. So many beautiful frames to try on. Eclectic, funky, artsy, and unique describe what they have to offer. After a few minutes of browsing, Emily came over to assist us. She is awesome. She stayed with us during our entire visit. My husband tried on several different frames, asked lots of questions, and we were in and out in less than two hours. We never felt rushed while we were there, despite how busy they were. Frames are organized by designer. Bargain frames are in the basement. We intend to go back and check those out at some point. They had a trunk show going on the day we visited, so it was quite the overall experience. Snacks, CHAMPAGNE, and a prize basket (we received $30 off a pair of frames). (Specifically, when I realized my son didn't have an adequate batting helmet for baseball mere hours before his first game of the season. I was able to order online and pickup no problem. He is insanely proud of his golden helmet, might I add.) This location expanded during the pandemic and has a ton! Hunting, biking, fishing, skiing,... a robust Iowa Hawkeye apparel section... shoes, apparel-- you name it! Honestly, my favorite spot to shop Scheels is online. I got some amazing Fornia clothes on clearance. My blazer I got is legit one of my favorite things and I spent less than $10-- what a steal! When we came in, we had a few employees greet us and smile as they saw our little girl (honestly it's hard to be in a bad mood when you sees you because she is so cute and will turn your bad day into a much better one). Not expecting to really purchase anything in particular, we just walked around the store and browsed. This location sells Iowa University clothing, that can be found on the first floor. There is also a mascot statue of Herky The Hawk by the clothing section (an older version of this mascot). Upstairs, you can find rifles, binoculars, etc. But most importantly the dog section, in which our little girl was very excited to lead us to (although this is our first time visiting this location, she just knew where her section is). We let her choose what item she would like for us to buy her, which ended up being a resealable bag of dried salmon dog treats. At the register downstairs, this friendly employee had asked if our dog had picked out this item herself, lol. We laughed about it, as we told him yes she did. I'll start with the positive first: they now sell sex toys and lube (Maude brand) which is super cool. The candles they sell are so unique and well crafted. What a creative idea to use old fish tins for the base! The not so good: in summary everything's extremely overpriced. Revival use to be more of a thrift store (and yes they still buy and resell thrifted items) but now a large selection of their items are new and well over $100. Mind you this is not a luxury store. Now, I will say Revival has always carried new items and more "high quality pieces" however, today I saw a "preloved" coach bag for $300+ which was insane to me. The selection of clothing is more neutral and basic tones like cream, nude, brown and white. I miss the color and variety that use to be! Today I purchased some groovy sunglasses, vintage Levi Jeans, and some other new goodies. I still love this place and will check it out again the next time I'm in town!

Their understaffed, over stressed and underpaid associates are lacking motivation and people skills in this location. It's not that Walgreens needs to hire more people. They are not given the budget to have more. They are routinely expected to do more with less. But that's "the industry standard". I walked into this convenient location and made eye contact with the male service associate. There were no customers in sight and he was just standing at the register playing his fingers like drumsticks on the counter. I gave a smile. He gave zero reaction. Where was my "welcome to Walgreens"? I proceeded to the front wall because I was in need of a technology device for my iPhone. Looks like they are ready to get a reset on all their cell phone gear because the entire front wall was pretty much barren and full of clearance tags. So I just bought a water and left. While I was there I wasn't greeted by any other employees. No management on the floor during my visit at 7pm. Only the little drummer boy and a photo tech who was trying to be patient taking an entire group of young children's passport photos. The store was in ok condition. Besides the front wall. Side racks snd end stands merchandised, back to school products out and ready to sell. Upon checkout my drummer friend gave a week "hey". And once I paid asked if I wanted a receipt. That was pretty much the extent of our exchange. Even while I was at the front wall looking intently over the little choices in product he proceeded to play his drum solo.
