Apparently the office had some questions about me trying to make another appointment in 3 months. During the time I was waiting I was not consulted or asked any questions. I explained to the desk it was an authorized appointment and what was the problem. I offered to call the V.A but was told they were in contact with them. At that time I sat down. No further communication and at 1429 went back to the desk , no one there waited a minute, and sat back down. At 1431 I left the facility and called the community care office at the V.A. very poor communication and will not return. Was very disrespectful of the staff to this veteran.​

She takes her time educating and guiding her patients in healthy habits and medical choices. She also has the ability to do a lot of testing in house instead of driving to Columbus for further tests. I explained I was willing to pay out of pocket for whatever my new policy didn't cover but she just continued to be hateful to me so I hung up. I made an appointment at Pearl Vision and they weren't rude to me at all. Don't give this office your time or money I have heard nothing but bad things about them and they proved it!

I am looking in the mirror and see the eyeglasses are not straight. I giggled and told her I was the one wearing them and they were not straight. She became frustrated put the eyeglasses down and said she would have the doctor adjust them. She did not inform the doctor (guessing because the doctor may have been with another client) she went to the front desk and told the other young lady all about it not only did I hear her so did everyone else in the office. Wow Rude, again! Totally unprofessional. I sat there waiting but, had to leave for another appointment and to return back to WORK. Elrich is good at doing eye exams and providing accurate prescriptions, however, she is not good at being friendly and so therefore her staff is a reflection of the boss. Her staff are rude on the phone and in person. It is obvious CareSource members have and will always be treated differently from members with commercial insurance. Sadly, CareSource puts out more money than most commercial insurance. I was unable to use my own frames because Elrich stated that there is always a problem doing that. NO the problem is you won't get paid the $400 for the $12 frames if I use my own. The same thing happened with my previous Optometrist - who said CareSource doesn't allow you to use your own frames. Well, the time before I did use my frames and the Optometrist charged CareSource for my own frames $300. I reported it! All situations are swept under a rug and the usual I am sorry when sorry didn't have anything to do with it. I really hate that my experience with Elrich and her staff was totally the opposite of what I was expecting. The staff either do not know their jobs or they don't want to do the job. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter I am a client and should be treated as so.

At the end of the visit, he was told that he owed $168! We have never been charged for an eye exam since it's covered for one a year. That's when we found out that because he wears contacts, they charged him for an eye exam AND for a contact exam?!?! Never heard of such! We've gone to Pearle Vision and other Eye Specialists in Columbus and have NEVER been charged for two eye exams. We asked for the contact prescription, and got the same response as the lady above. They didn't really want to give it to us and wanted us to order the contacts through them. That said, they did find an issue with his eyes and the contacts that they finally found worked for him. Jury is still out on what we'll do next year. We'll go to this eye specialist and see what happens there.
