At the end of the visit, he was told that he owed $168! We have never been charged for an eye exam since it's covered for one a year. That's when we found out that because he wears contacts, they charged him for an eye exam AND for a contact exam?!?! Never heard of such! We've gone to Pearle Vision and other Eye Specialists in Columbus and have NEVER been charged for two eye exams. We asked for the contact prescription, and got the same response as the lady above. They didn't really want to give it to us and wanted us to order the contacts through them. That said, they did find an issue with his eyes and the contacts that they finally found worked for him. Jury is still out on what we'll do next year. We'll go to this eye specialist and see what happens there.

The glasses have one lens with correction but the right eye had no lens because he has a lens implant. My request was for blank lens in the right eye sector. I was greeted in a very friendly manner and advised that the cost would be $10. I had just left Lenscrafters where I was advised the cost would be $250, would take 2 weeks and they could not guarantee the work in used frames (I can understand that part). I am very pleased with the cost but especially with the service I received. Very caring, very understanding and very apologetic that I might have to wait awhile (it was 18 minutes). I recommend this to anyone who needs glasses, contacts or even questions. The really care about their customers - the other customers left with big smiles and thank you as they finished their visit too. Super people, super service.

Recently I brought some office glasses for repair where a hinge broke. After a while the same side broke again. I called to follow up and learned I was still under warranty. Whomever I spoke with seemed to be kind as usual. I brought the eyewear in on Monday and was immediately put off by the person behind the counter doing whatever he was doing. He spoke rather dismissively telling me he would be with me momentarily without actually looking my way. After he continued doing whatever he was doing at the computer he asked me what I was there for. After getting my name and looking me up, there was a bit of confusion as to how my name was listed. Again this in itself was not an issue for me but his attitude was stone cold I "DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU!" Once he found me he looked at my eyewear and immediately said, "OH THIS BROKE WHERE THE PLASTIC IS, THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX THESE". No customer service, empathy nor reasonable expression from one human being to another let alone a customer. This was all I could think about. Then he said, "I could bond them but I doubt it would last a day. Sorry!" It was a very sarcastic "sorry" - more like a f&^! you 'sorry.' It was at that moment I realized i needed to get outta there before I went beyond my own personal character. I took my frames home and added a little super glue to the point of breakage. I'm glad to say its been over 48 hours now and I've worked in them for some 22 hours since Monday without a problem. The glue is sturdy and I am satisfied with my own limited 'craftsmanship.' The fact that he didn't choose to make a fix for me is one thing. I find that disappointing in itself. But the fact that this man with a nasty ass attitude spoke to me like I was a worthless waste of his time has me rethinking whether I will ever seek out their services again. To reiterate, this was my first negative experience as opposed to the many times I've been there and received friendly service. I could imagine several reasons why this could be which I won't mention. One I will mention is I had just cut my grass before driving to the store on my lunch break. Perhaps he thought I was a hobo. But again, regardless, I am still seething when I think of how this person summarily dismissed a person who takes pride in spending money with good businesses. I was taught in the first grade not to judge a book by it's cover. I would have asked this person his name. But I was so put off even now I don't care.

I was accompanied the entire, very thorough process, by two (I assume) technicians, one of whom was in training. I was pleased to see how well the trainer and trainee worked together! Very efficient. The only time that I wasn't with the techs, I was being seen by Dr. Chester, a very affable and confident physician. I can't say enough good about these consummate professionals. I seem to be on the 6 month plan where every 6 months I lose my glasses! We went there last Saturday when the weather was just yucky! I wasn't sure if Eyemart Express would be busy but I need to be able to see to drive safely! I was amazed that the store was empty! I was able to walk in, hand them my prescription card and had my 2 pair of glasses in about 40 minutes and we were on our way! I chose the 2 pair for $38.9? something and with taxes paid a little over $41.00! My glasses fit well. The staff were all friendly and helpful and gave me time to shop around. No pressure! For future reference I heard one of the clerks say that a good time to come in is around 2:00 pm. There is also an optometrist there but you need to make an appointment with the doctor to be seen.

Then , I stopped by there and, the sale advisor, listened to me carefully and , she said that I have a full warranty and she's going to order new ones for me. I was glad. Finally, they made it and they shipped after they told me that the glasses were ready to be picked. But, I was busy in Chicago when I received the message. We were very pleasantly surprised at the service and professionalism of the staff at Meijer's Optical. My wife didn't realize that it was the doctor himself who was checking her in. We both had full eye exams and both ordered new glasses. The exams were very thorough and professional; the dispensing staff was very helpful and the selection of lenses and frames was excellent. We were able to get appointments within a few days of calling and our glasses will be ready within 2 weeks. You can also get insurance on your glasses against breakage and scratches on the lenses. Apparently the office had some questions about me trying to make another appointment in 3 months. During the time I was waiting I was not consulted or asked any questions. I explained to the desk it was an authorized appointment and what was the problem. I offered to call the V.A but was told they were in contact with them. At that time I sat down. No further communication and at 1429 went back to the desk , no one there waited a minute, and sat back down. At 1431 I left the facility and called the community care office at the V.A. very poor communication and will not return. Was very disrespectful of the staff to this veteran.​
