Allen is incredibly detail-oriented, and I leave happy with my haircut every single time. I originally planned to grow out my bob after dyeing my hair dark brown from blonde, but I hated the awkward in-between length, so I went back to Allen to refresh it instead. I'm so glad I did. The first time I went to Allen was actually to fix my hair from my previous hair person. I was almost in tears because my hair was orange literally the week after I got it done and dropped so much money. my hair felt so dry and looked like I havent gotten my hair done in a year. I tried to tell myself it doesn't look that bad but the more I looked at it, the more upset I got. So I was looking for someone on yelp to help me fix this and came across Moc Hair Studio. The reviews were great and although I was nervous I couldn't stand to look at my hair anymore the way it was so I took the leap of faith and gave it a try. Allen was so informative and let me know what exactly my previous hair person did to make it look like that. He explained what he will do to fix it and throughout the entire process I could tell how meticulous he was. I felt like I was in good hands and after he was done, my hair looked like what I wanted it to look like in the first place!! I was so impressed with his work that I decided the next time I needed my hair done I'm coming back. Fast forward to yesterday.. I wanted a change with my hair so I decided to go back to Allen and see what magic he could work. I wanted to try something a bit different from what I usually go for and I knew Allen could do it but from previous trauma of going to the same person multiple times and never getting exactly what I wanted, I was still scared. Again he calmed my nerves by taking his time and making sure everything looked perfect. I've never been to anyone before where I felt like I was his only customer ever by the way he was taking second third and even fourth looks to make sure the color is right, the hair is even on both sides, and the hair is healthy and not damaged!! She knows how to create a full makeover with extensions while keeping your own hair healthy and minimizing unnecessary bleaching or damage, everything always blends so naturally. She knew exactly where she wanted to start my layers and even took the time to show me how to style my hair on my own as well! At the previous hair salon they would thin out my hair so so much. Yes, it did feel lighter but often times I'd leave the appointment feeling as though they had thinned it out way too much. Jessie made sure not to thin it and even told me herself since I already had thin wavy hair it was best to avoid that. She mainly focused on using scissors rather than thinning blades to give me the layers I've wanted. Results came out amazing and I did not leave worried about how much hair I may have lost. The hairstyle she gave me is very easy to maintain as well as she assured me it would look fine as it grows out as well. So excited to go back and try out maybe a different style of bangs with her! Overall my experience with her was amazing, she was sweet, also had a nice little Korean drama on for me to watch. I tend to yap and she made sure to have some small talk while focusing on the haircut. Sarah came to my rescue - I showed her a picture of the look I wanted and explained my concerns, and she really took the time to listen and understand exactly what I was going for but at the same time taking into account of my hair's health. To ensure to stays the right amount of healthy I asked for a brown ashy shade, and she recommended milk tea brown shade with a bit more ash than normal to reach my targeted shade! She absolutely nailed it. The color came out so close to the reference photo, and it suits me perfectly.
