Beyond that, I left town shortly after starting treatment, and she and all of her staff provided extremely kind customer service and support from a distance. The work she does typically can't be done virtually, and everyone knows dental work can be painful and difficult. She is not just a dentist. Her work and consult has helped remedy my complex, lifelong medical issues. By not being local, I completely disrupted her treatment protocol and process. With a less skilled dentist this could have been bad. But, she did such a good job with understanding my case and designing a custom oral treatment device that I was able to get through it on my own from a distance. Meanwhile, the whole office was helpful and accommodating. In cases like mine, the work she does is life saving and always life changing. I wish I could transport her and the entire office out west. She was ready to dive in when I pointed out that I asked for nitrous. Then I got some nitrous. But there was no further discussion or questions about my comfort so you can imagine how I almost came out the chair when she got to drilling on the nerve. And that's just one example of the lack of due diligence and meticulous care I expect from a doctor.

Dr singleton took a more conservative approach and was able to treat my tooth with a filling instead, saving me from a more extensive procedure. The entire office is incredibly caring from the front desk to the hygienists and assistants. They even sent me a hand written letter after my first visit and followed up after my procedures to make sure I was doing well. It's those thoughtful touches that really set singleton smiles apart. Since then, I've returned for my wisdom teeth and to repair a chip in my front tooth, and every experience has been excellent. The person at the front desk (I think her name was Niki) was very helpful when I was filling out my forms and explained to me what was covered through my UofM grad student insurance, along with other logistics related things. I'm usually not good with paperwork, so her help was very much appreciated! After the initial examination, I learned that I had a filling that came loose and some minor gingivitis (which was expected since my teeth have been bothering me for a while now), and Dr. Ma explained her treatment plan for me in a way that I could actually understand. I should mention that I usually get very anxious when it comes to dentists, but Dr. Ma's gentle approach helped alleviate some of that anxiety. Oh yeah, and the hygienist was super thorough. Like, it felt like she got to parts of my mouth that I didn't even know existed. Quick Edit: my boyfriend recently went to Choice Dental after I pestered him about his dental health situation. He's just as weary of dentists as I am, so I was really relieved when he told me that he had a good experience with Dr. Kim. A chain (message me if you want to avoid them) that would always cancel your approintments the week of, offering you an appointment you couldn't make or an appointment 5 months off. And everytime you'd go, different dentist. Nice. So, when I changed jobs, my wife and I looked for a new dentist. Little researcher that she is, she found Dr. Choi at Choice Dental, which is on South Main just across from the stadium in that office building with the parking underneath. Not only is the office pleasant and the staff very friendly and competant, but the service is just outstanding. Everytime I'd turn around, he'd have something new and techy, from the tiny camera he used to take pics of my teeth so I could see what was going on to the program he used to show my how my teeth were going to move. Better yet, when I went for my cleaning, the DENTIST did the whole cleaning. Not a 2 minute consult. The WHOLE cleaning. Long story short, this dentist will make you feel like you're back in time, with a dentist who's good at what he does and actually gives a damn about you. Old school. He was not interested in what brought me there, just in how he was going to line his pockets. Every phone contact I had with these people was a demand for money.
