This was a beautiful spot for dinner before going to the theatre. We were originally seated outside and were able to hear the music being played on the quay. Unfortunately, a few wasps really liked us. The server was great about moving us inside. There was a nice variety of drinks to choose from. We all enjoyed our entrees. Just moved to Charlottetown and my parents were hanging around a bit and wanted some seafood and we just happened to walk past Peake's Quay and the big patio overlooking the water was perfect for the sunny day. Lots of space here so we were seated right away, was not super busy either. Service was a tad slow and nothing to really write home about but the menu is solid and food was tasty. HUGE drink selection too so something for everyone here. The seafood is fresh and well presented and the Peake's salad that comes with a lot of meals is awesome! It is fresh mix greens with berries, goat cheese, candied pecans, pickled red onions, almonds and a lovely raspberry vinaigrette, not your average side salad indeed! We ordered some local brews and calamari to start, which was flavourful and with a great sauce but these are large guys (I personally prefer the small). My dad enjoyed his fresh "perfeclty salty" oysters and my mom ordered the seafood bake which is a rich creamy white wine sauce with haddock, mussels, salmon, and shrimp with the Peake's salad. I ordered the wharf bandit which is the best of everything, the Peake's salad, a fish cake with aioli, and an awesome piece of fried beer batter fish (WOW the batter was so thick and tasty). Great fresh oysters here! We tried a shot of shine (moonshine) burns like hell going down. Very fun place with fresh seafood.

While in Historic Charlottetown, be sure to visit Peake's Wharf located on the waterfront and has 20 small shops, boutiques, and restaurants including Cows, Crocs, Quayside Boutique, Lobster On The Wharf and Peakes Quay Restaurant & Bar. After taking a walking tour of the waterfront, my buddy and I spent an hour here browsing through the shops. I picked up some shirts at Cows and at the PEI Dirt Shirt Co and snagged some souvenirs at a couple gift shops. We also checked out How Bazaar, which carries some very trendy loud & colorful dresses and accessories at discounted prices. Various boat cruises (June-Sept) depart from Peake's Wharf during the afternoon and evening sailing around the harbour. At night time during the summer months, there are free outdoor concerts on the waterfront. Pay parking lot nearby. read more

My second time visiting this restaurant. There's an incredible view of the ocean and lots of tourist shops nearby making this a perfect stop on your trip. Great local fish options (which is a given, it's PEI) and an adorable patio. Quick and friendly service and sharable sizes. Please note this is not wheelchair accessible. read more

Great location and food is legit. I had the lobster roll and a Caesar salad and both were great. A tough expensive but that's the market these days. The drink menu is above average for this kind of restaurant - lots to choose from and not just beer. Would go again. read more

We were seated quickly, however once we sat down there was no further interaction. No one offered us water or took our order for about half an hour. We tried to get the attention of the staff scurrying about the restaurant but people actively ignored us. We ended up leaving without talking to anyone. read more

Where there with my sister on a cruise we ported there. We stopped by sat upstairs on the patio. We were greeted quickly with big smile, great personality and funny young lady. We had drinks, decided on the oysters. They where great!!! Did not stay longer... But a great place to visit. read more

Stay Away! Simply the worst food we had on our trip throughout The Maritimes. We ordered mussels. How could they not be great? This is PEI. Trst me, the weren't. They were cold and rubbery. The rest of the meal was not much better. Just find someplace else. read more

While in town to see the iconic "Anne of Green Gables - The Musical", we walked along the harbour and found ourselves at Peake's Quay, your basic waterfront shopping/dining destination. "Hey! They have a nice deck where we can sit and have dinner before the show!" Yeah, it's that, and not much more. Once again we get disappointed with the lobster roll. Why is this so difficult? When it is tiny littly pieces of lobster meat (legs?) portioned with a scoop, and served on a burger bun, somebody is unclear on the state-of-the-art, if not the concept itself. The upside is that it does get served with a caesar salad. Their house-branded beer was just fine, and the service was quick and friendly. None of it was enough to make up for the wretched country music in the background. Sorry, friends, we came to Charlottetown, not Amarillo. There's plenty of good music around here. And while we couldn't hear them over the country music, there were televisions hanging all around, which costs a star in my system. read more

My boyfriend and I came to Peake's Quay because we saw their lookout lounge that looks over the marina and thought it would be a cool place for a late dinner. It was super windy and cold that night so we opted to sit inside and we noticed it had a cool pub atmosphere that reminded me of my local at home. I ordered the fish cakes and he had the fish tacos as we wanted to try as much seafood in PEI as possible. The fish cakes were delicious and flavourful, I ordered a side of the chipotle bbq mayo to dip them in which was a key choice. The house salad that they came with had strawberries, almond slices, red onion and a berry vinaigrette (it also came with goat cheese but I opted out). The salad with that dressing was incredible, probably the best house salad I've ever had! The fish tacos were a good amount of fish and had a great sauce. Service was great, friendly and attentive. Ate here for our last night on PEI. We were seating promptly and had a great view off the deck. The waitress was pleasant and we got our drinks quickly. Then it went downhill into a disappointment. Their house Lager is a watery brew with little flavor- i would have been better off to stick with bottles. I had their seafood platter which, on positive note was a big pile of fried clams, fried shrimp and a good size piece of haddock. On the way negative side, the food arrived barely warm (which is pretty nasty for fried foods). It took quite a while for me to get the staff's attention (no one ever checked if food was ok). They remade the order which arrived promptly enough but arrived with 1/4 the clams and shrimp and double the fries of the original serving. I ate what I could since I was hungry, paid the bill and left disappointed with my last meal on PEI. Service and quality might be fine for the cruise ship crowd but there are better values in Charlottetown. read more

After a day of touring PEI, we wanted to stop in Charlottetown for dinner. We reviewed the Yelp and found Peake's Quay had very good reviews. The reviews were correct. A wonderful bay side restaurant with an open are deck. We sat outside for dinner. The selection of beer was very good and we had the poutine as an appetizer (While the Poutine was very good, it also filled me up). I had order the ribs, while my wife had the halibut. Both choices were excellent. Our waitress was great, and before we left, that nights entertain started a solo set (he was very good also, sorry, I don't know the name). read more

We stopped in for a snack and drinks. Fantastic ocean views. Lots of umbrellas if you need shade. Our server was so polite and sweet. We ordered the fried clams and fries. Great staff, better food. The patio has a wonderful water front view. The staff are happy and welcoming. They made our meal much better with joking and laughing with the table. The resturant itself has a pretty good pub feel to it that I really liked. But as far as everything else goes the resturant was not worth it. The meals were wicked expensive and not very good; to say they were mediocre would be a compliment. I'm not entirely sure why William and Kate would chose this place to eat on their royal PEI visit. My waitress was was not friendly at all. On the other hand my parents sat at the table next to me and had a wonderful waitress and their meals were a little better. My parents would give it 2-3 stars, but the service at a resturant should be consistent, not horrible for one table and good for the table next to us. In the end I would not suggest eating here but if you feel so inclined I would suggest the potato skins because they were pretty good. read more

I agree with the other reviewers. I was very disappointed with this place. I ordered the fish and chips... I would have expected the tartar sauce not to come in a pre-packaged Kraft tub. My son ordered the small pizza and it was ok. My friends had the specials which were ok, but again, salad dressing came in a Kraft baggie. Really? I only wish I knew Charlottetown better to recommend somewhere else, anywhere else. read more
