School progress was stifled as he fell more and more behind. The program itself is designed to target kid - specific problem areas. It's been a relief to see his reading improve in ways we really couldn't have addressed through at home reading. I wish we'd signed him up sooner!

The one year old teachers were rough with the kids, grabbing and yanking them hard when they wanted them to move. It seemed like the one year old teachers were annoyed at the kids and they would rather be anywhere else. Doesn't look like the cleanest facility either. Definitely wouldn't send my kids here, especially for how much they charge and how little the teachers and director seem to care about children. RUN.

Another update is they really need to refresh the counseling dept. I've never been ignored so much in my life as I have been by these counselors. I've also heard my kids and their friends say the same kinds of things. They are just not good. If your kid is a go getter, they will do well at East. But I think all types of kids need attention and help too, and the quiet ones fall through the cracks here. Again, something I've dealt with in our family as well as hearing it from other families.

Our son started in the infant room when he was just 16 weeks old, and it's been amazing to watch him grow and thrive. She comes home excited to share what she's learned each day, and it's clear how much her teachers genuinely care about helping her learn, play, and build confidence. The staff creates a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where our kids are excited to go each morning. We truly appreciate the communication, kindness, and dedication of everyone at New Horizon Academy. We highly recommend it to any family looking for exceptional childcare and early education!

Sounds like that person is the only one working off their entitlement. I'm a single mom with 5 kids and rent in the neighborhood. The staff at this school is phenomenal. The support that my kids (and I) have received the past 6 school years has been amazing. I am sad to be leaving next year. The principal, Kent Cruger, knows every kid by name. The things the other reviewer had to say were flat out lies. He absolutely puts every child in that school first. BOULDER is not diverse... that is not his fault. I'm not white, and neither are my kids. I am not rich. We are treated the same as any other family. Mr. Soole (PE) is loved by all the kids, because he is a big kid! Mrs. James (Music) keeps the kids engaged with productions that are also meaningful. Every teacher we have had has been compassionate and kind, teaching to the needs of the individual child. I am a HUGE proponent of neighborhood schools, and quite frankly, dislike the open enrollment concept. It overcrowds some schools and leaves gaps in others. People should focus on putting energy and time into their neighborhood schools, where their children can have friends they can walk/bike to. I have lived in several states, and have passed through 8 elementary schools over the past 20 years of being a parent. Bear Creek will always hold a very special place in my heart, and those of my children who were lucky enough to attend.
