From (719)-508-9045: "I gave you guys a fair deal below cost but due to the review I will give you one chance to remove it if not I will file a defamation lawsuit along with a change order and lein for the full amount of work approved by your husband let me know how you would like to proceed I regret being fair to you" "-Correct Change order sent -you worked with one location not 3" "Attorney will be sending you a letter next week. Have a nice day :)" Review Continued: We hired Raptor roofing to replace 4 panels on our shop roof (damaged skylights) with solid metal sheets and replace quite a few rotting/leaking boards. I specifically asked that all repairs be sealed to prevent leaks (boards and panels) and that the company inspect the roof and notify us of any additional leaks. We went from 7 leaks pre-repair to 25+ post-repair. 90% of these leaks came from where the company repaired the roof. The remaining leaks came from the rotting boards we requested they replace but did not. The owner, Levi, was very apologetic, said the crew did not do what they were asked and told us they would take care of it and when they were finished our roof would have no leaks- at no extra cost. I was very impressed by and thankful for this response. The project manager came out to see the leaking areas and rotting boards and about a week later the crew came back out and sealed the roof, replaced the remainder of the bad boards, added sealing grommets to the screws, etc. My husband and I were under the guise that this company wanted to fix their mistakes. There was never mention of additional cost at any time but we were apparently expected to pay for all 26 of the extra boards, the tape, foam added to the ridge cap and some labor. Then the bill came. It had gone up $1600. Levi and Keith insisted that when my husband talked to the project manager, Jocson, he requested additional work. Here are the problems with this: 1. If a roofing company is replacing panels, they should be sealed because the purpose of a roof repair is to prevent leaks. I also specifically asked that all repairs would be sealed leading us to believe that any sort of sealing tape for panels was included in the original quote. 2. We told the roofer we wanted all of the rotting leaking boards replaced, they determined that number to be 15. The roofers picked 15 boards to replace- 80% of these boards were along the replaced metal sheets making them more easily accessible. There were plenty of rotten boards still present- so did the inspector not account for enough boards or did the roofers replace the wrong boards? Either way..the companies mistake that we paid for. 3. Jocson told my husband our roof needed foam added to the ridge cap where the metal sheets were replaced during his reinspection. My husband, under the guise this company was going to take care of all leaks, agreed that sounded good. No extra cost was ever mentioned. We never signed another contract. We were never told there would be extra charges. It was never implied there would be extra charges. If they told us additional work was needed at extra cost before doing the work and sent a new contract/quote that we agreed to we would happily pay it! Levi admitted to this failure in communication. Apologized. He said he saw this coming which suggests he was aware that he and his partners misled us. He said for $2000 more they would have just replaced the entire roof- after the fact. He took off $300, dropping the extra cost to $1300. We paid it because we pay our bills on time and pay for services promptly- its the right thing to do. This company does not operate ethically as we do. Communication with this company is also terrible. From start until finish I never once received an update on anything (quote, materials ordering, completion, etc.) unless I asked for it. We always seemed to be talking to a different person, none of which were ever present on the jobsite. We never got feedback or advice from them suggesting that our roof needed additional repair. Unprofessional and disorganized. To add insult to injury we asked for a veterans discount which they do offer but we never received.

We had a great experience with Timberland Exteriors of Colorado. We found out about them through…read moremultiple neighbors on our block who had a good experience. Previously, I had other other roofing contractors come out take a look at our roof and they never followed up with us and seemed sketchy. In addition none of these contractors found any hail damage. Both David and Brent did an excellent job communicating with us in a very kind, clear way that made us feel comfortable working with them. They found the hail damage we suspected all along and were concise in making the case to the insurance company in a gentle, effective and ethical way. Some roofing companies are extremely inexperienced and have no idea how to navigate insurance claims. Not the case with Timberland, they understand the insurance business inside and out and know the nuances of hail claims. I highly recommend Timberland if you need a new roof!

Great at roofs, suck at gutters…read more Contacted Timberland Exteriors after a few of my neighbors used them to replace their roofs due to hail damage. Dan came out and was great about getting all the information I needed for my homeowner's insurance and working through the claim process. We were very pleased with the roof replacement - but NOT the gutters. Roof went really well. Gutters were a nightmare. Dan's color samples were not current and the numbers he gave to the gutter guy were a different color. The new gutters were installed and were not the correct color. Dan was great and came out and took a look and confirmed that he had outdated color samples. The gutter guy came out and I gave him a sample of the paint color that the gutters would need to be painted. After a few weeks, the gutter guys just showed up out of nowhere and painted the gutters. Thought all was well until we had a snowstorm, melt and re-freeze. The gutters were leaking from seams and created major ice dams that I have never had an issue with in the 15 years of being in my house. I sent Dan pictures and he and the gutter guys came back out and checked/adjust the gutters. Have not had a snowstorm or melt/refreeze since, but I do have one gutter that is still backing up and leaking in a seam. As the weather warmed up, I went out to pressure wash my deck and found paint overspray all over my deck and patio furniture. Again, I contacted Dan and he sent the gutter guys back out to clean it up. The gutter guys ruined the darker picture frame Timbertech boards by pressure washing too close and did not get the over spray off my railing or furniture. I contacted Dan again. He sent the gutter guys back out and the had a second chance to fix the issue. They still were not successful in getting the overspray off my deck. I sent Dan pictures again and he told me he was going to contact the gutter team again and asked me to call the owner of Timberland Exteriors, Brent and to give them more time. In fairness, Dan did offer to try and remedy the problem, but by sending the same incompetent people out to ruin my deck further?? I told Dan I was done dealing with the gutter team and I'd do the cleaning myself to ensure it was done right. Great at roofs. Suck at gutters.

Below are a few highlights of their service: -They were very inflexible with scheduling and the only time they could come was when I needed to drop my son off for summer camp. -The technician who came to work on the doors did not wear shoe covers or offer to clean up the debris he tracked into our home as he worked on the doors -The doorknobs were installed backwards, so that the doors could only be locked from the outside of the rooms (locking people inside). We have children; this could be problematic. -The technician left before I could review his work -When I called to ask about having the doorknobs reversed the receptionist (I believe her name was Kristin) hung up on me. -After being hung up on, I called back to see when we could expect the technician to return, and I was told he would be back after his trip to Home Depot (we live about 15 minutes away from Home Depot). It was around 1:30 in the afternoon when I called the first time, at 3:30 when no one had been back to our home to put the doorknobs on correctly, I called back to check the status. -I was transferred to the owner of the company, who told me the tech would be out to put the doorknobs on correctly. No one ever showed up that day to correct the work. So we had to reverse the door knobs. -The following day the tech showed up 2 hours later than he was expected and grumbled, "I'm not perfect". I don't expect anyone to be perfect, but when a mistake is made it should be corrected. Working with Mr. Handyman has been a nightmare, and I would love to save anyone from this headache. I strongly advise looking for a different Handyman company. At this point our project is only halfway done and a door that once closed no longer closes. However, fortunately the locks are back on the correct side of the door. -They left many scratches and gouges in the paint of our door trim and did not try to touch it up even though he painted the doors the same color as the trim. - They started the work before, they received all the doors, meaning they were planning on stretching the project out across weeks. I hope it's just a weird coincidence, but it came across like this is the type of company that promotes men being able to put locks on the outside of doors enabling them to lock women and children in rooms against their wills. After my request for them to put the doorknobs on correctly, I was asked not to call back (only my husband could call) by the same receptionist who hung up on me. It seems important to this company that the women and children being locked inside these rooms do not speak up or advocate for themselves. This has been a horrific experience working with Mr. Handyman. I personally don't feel safe with them in my home, and I hope this review helps consumers to pick a handyman who is handy and accountable.

She then said the technician stated he was there for 3 hours when he was only there for 10 minutes. She then told me she'd talk to the boss and get back to me. That never happened, so I followed up a week later only to be told, it was a flat rate and that's the price. This was a frustrating experience from the price and customer service aspect. I asked twice for the technician to call before any work was performed. That didn't happen. Then I was told I would receive a follow up call which didn't happen. I regret referring them to others.

Well we couldn't wait until the next morning as it was already 8:30 pm and it was getting colder and colder inside the house and outside. He told us exactly what needed to be repaired (need a new blower motor) and costed out the repair which was $200 "less" than what the other company estimated.
