Historic Third Ward

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Barre3 Milwaukee! From the moment you walk in, the…read morespace feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The studio features stunning cream city brick walls that give it so much character, soft flooring that feels supportive during every movement, and even a beautiful view of the river that makes classes feel peaceful and grounding. The amenities are amazing and make everything so convenient. There are lockers for your belongings, three spacious changing rooms, two bathrooms, and thoughtful extras like hair ties and deodorant if you forget something. Everything you need for class is there and perfectly organized-weights, bands, core balls, and sweat towels so you can just show up and focus on your workout. The instructors are truly exceptional. My favorites are Xiomary and Alexandra. They bring such positive energy, clear instruction, and thoughtful corrections to every class. They offer modifications and advancements so everyone can feel successful, and they genuinely care about your experience. You leave feeling strong, supported, and empowered. The community at Barre3 Milwaukee is something special. It's inclusive, encouraging, and never intimidating. The workouts are balanced and intentional--strength, cardio, and mindfulness all in one--and the playlists are always motivating without being overwhelming. I just wish they had better parking!

As someone who hates the gym and has had very little physical activity, walking into a place like…read morethis can feel really intimidating. Luckily, the instructors are insanely supportive (and won't pressure you), and the attendees are various skill levels. There are two main rooms to this facility - one with a soft floor for jujitsu or yoga and one with punching bags, ropes, a big tire, etc. for hardcore training. While I've only had the chance to participate in one class so far, I'll definitely update my review as I have a chance to explore the diverse schedule that's available. I will say, it was a bit of an ego blow trying to keep up with people who have been in the program for a while, but my teacher made sure I understood he was there to help me reach my personal goals, no comparing, no judgement... just one step at a time. Also, he taught me the PROPER way to do even simple things like squats (which I was doing totally wrong). One word to the wise... if you don't have your own boxing gloves, get some! My hands smelled like dirty feet for three days (even after washing them multiple times).

Nice and clean place with two sections: Mats for BJJ and a CrossFit ish section. This is definitely…read morethe go-to place for Jiujitsu in town. I had no previous experience with BJJ but the class didn't make me feel uncomfortable and had lots of fun. The equipments on the other side of the gym is pretty cool and people were doing some kickass workout. Might try the bootcamp or kickboxing next soon.
