Spanish Springs Lanes - Insulated mug we spotted after we were told our kids couldn't have sippy cups with water in them

The staff was rude, they don't have many balls available, and we had to wait for a lane. We won't be back.

A bit torn on this one. I'll split this in 1/2…read more Restaurant: The food was typical bowling alley-expected food. I've seen that this location is in need of a kitchen/entertainment manager so I have to assume leadership/guidance and authority is lacking at the current time. Quality: Chicken quesadilla was very tasty and was appropriately priced for the quality and quantity of the appetizer. Flatbread pizza: This is where I struggle. The flavor was okay. The crust was burnt and it was very overpriced for what you get. Regardless the situation, there's no excuse to send out a product that was clearly burnt. This not only impacts the reviews but can also impact the tips of the wait staff. Cheeseburger: It was a cheeseburger. It was a little pink in the middle and didn't come with mayo/lettuce or tomato. Again, shouldn't price as a high-end restaurant but provide sub-par product. Overall: Cleanliness of the bar/seating area was okay. Tables were sticky and some tables had condiments while others did not. Our waitress was attentive. We tipped her well. Overall it was a little bit of a let down after I was told the food was great at this location. BOWLING: cost: very appropriate. Cleanliness: Didn't see anything that would warn us that it was not cleaned often. Service: It was quickly identified there are regulars and those regulars will act entitled. We had 2-3 people step ahead of us at the counter to demand things. There was zero courtesy that we were waiting. Lanes: Well kept. I'm Overall I think we'll visit this bowling lane to b Bowl but not sure we'll revisit the eatery section. I hope they get help in the kitchen soon. Bowlers like to eat and drink. The more they drink the more they want to snack. It could become a missed opportunity. If I give the food side a 2nd chance, will update my review.

The other players try to get their balls as close to the jack as possible. Although it sounds simple there is skill and strategy to the sport. The balls are weighted which causes them to curve as the roll. This allows players to get their ball past other players who may be blocking their jack. I had never heard of lawn bowling before when I spotted the Mount Dora Lawn Bowling Club at the end of Donnelly Street next to Elizabeth Evans Park. Willard M. Bryant and his next door neighbor Fred S. Thompson learned about lawn bowling on their vacation to St. Petersburg Florida in the 1920's. The friends liked the sport and when they started spending the winters in Mount Dora they decided to a start a lawn bowling league. With help from Charles Edgerton, owner of the historic Lakeside Inn who served on the Park Commission, they were able to get the approval of the city council to stat a club. Three rinks were built and on April 7, 1928 the first Mount Dora Lawn Bowling League was created consisting of 20 members with Bryant serving as president and Bryant as vice-president. On April 13,1928 the first match was held against 35 bowlers from Orlando. In 2014 a historic marker was dedicated at their clubhouse to the history of the Mount Dora Bowling Club. Today the club has 300 members making it one of the largest BowlsUSA affiliated clubs in the country. They will teach you how to play the game and give you a free trial membership. After that you can purchase a membership to be part of the club.

I gave each kid $50 per card and that lasted about 20-30 min of play time. The prizes are also very lofty in the amount of tickets required to get them. I'd say an item you could buy on Amazon for about 10$ will cost about 50$ in tickets. The staff was a young local crowd, what you would expect considering the area. My son had left his wallet at one of the game stands and no one was able to help him find it. We never got a call from any of the staff regarding anyone finding anything. We also opted to do an escape room which was 4x the price it shouldv'e been considering the room and the puzzle and lack of direction. 10 min for 50$ for a family of 4 and no clues or guidance was definitely not worth it. We didnt even get past the first step because even though we had the right idea and lock code, the lock didnt open.... If someone had been listening or watching I think they shouldve assisted since we had it correct. I stead we just stood around for the remaining 8 minutes... poof, there goes another 50$. I think this place would be more profitable if they lowered the prices and had special marketing days. Overall the staff was helpful and down to earth. Despite the expense we had a decent time.

At these rates I have no idea how they will last without the other stuff around them. (ie bowling, games)
