I was fortunate enough to get shop owner Dee who tattooed some daises and a date for me. Dee was kind, and extremely professional. The line work is clean, and dainty for a very meaningful tattoo. He was very gentle and kept checking in with me during the appointment to make sure I was comfortable. Overall highly recommend this shop! I will be returning to see Dee for more work. If I could leave no stars I would. My tattoo has been infected for nearly a month. It rejected aquaphor, only medical ointment would help, and I have had to take multiple antibiotics. Severe bruising and swelling around the tattooed area. I have several tattoos and this one BY FAR took the longest to heal (still hasn't healed completely and I got the tattoo on April 29th). Three doctor's appointments later and I have had to miss over two weeks of work. Would DEFINITELY not recommend this place. Extremely rude and cavalier about the infection. I sat and waited almost 35 minutes to get my jewelry put back in. When I asked the lady at the desk after 15 minutes how long she would be she told me be patient. And told me she is doing two piercings. I am understanding and don't tend to leave reviews, but the attitude the older lady had with me was very unkind. Another 15 minutes went by and I asked once again how much longer because I have been waiting 30 minutes. Then the piercer was then done and walked out and the older lady just kept repeating over to her the impatient lady is next. I don't typically leave bad reviews whenever problems get resolved however, people need to be warned about the male piercer at this location. He did my industrial piercing when my bottom Cartlidge was to flat hold it. he did not tell me this prior to doing it he just did it. I wanted to keep the piercing so badly that I left it in for a year it got very infected and inflamed so I went back to peacocks I had the pleasure of seeing Shayla who's done multiple of my other piercings, and they have never been infected. She has always told me if I cannot have it, and always accommodated to me, she had to take out my industrial piercing. He also did a forward helix on my opposite ear. He didn't Pierce that far back enough so she also how to take that one out. both of my third holes got infected very badly and I had to lose them. I was cleaning my ears properly because I have so many other piercings. I know how to take care of them however, if they're pierced wrong or incorrect, they won't heal properly or heal ever. If you go to this place go to Barbie or Shayla they're absolutely amazing. When I did go back and they took out my piercings that were infected they gave me two free bottles of H2O spray, free jewelry, and a free piercing card . Which I guess makes up for it but at the same time I would've never spent that money if the man would've told me that I don't have the ears for that type of piercing. read more

I've had all eight of my tattoos done here and my husband has had all four of his done here. I even brought my daughter here for her first tattoo when she was 16. I had my first tat done in 2000, so I've been using Peacock's for a while. I refer all my friends here. Obviously in the past 15 years, there's been turnover of the tattoo artists, but they have all been great. Everyone in the shop has always been nothing but kind and friendly. The artists do great work and make you feel at ease. I can't remember the names of everyone who has put ink on me, but I know Cricket has done a couple and Spencer has done a couple. The shop is really clean. That's something you should always been looking for when you want some ink. I know I can trust the cleanliness here. The first couple of tats I had done were flash. Uggg... I know. What was I thinking getting flash? Well, I chalk it up to young and stupid. They are great pieces and were done well, but now I want my ink to be original. I go in with a concept and the guys have always been great at drawing up exactly what I had in mind. I've been super impressed with the tats they've drawn up for hubby b/c he gets much bigger pieces than me which are more intricate in design. Peacock's is a bit more expensive than other tattoo places, but you get what you pay for. I'm not sure about you, but if I'm going to have something on my body for the rest of my life, I prefer for it to be perfect. For that, I'm willing to shell out the extra bit of dough! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! My daughter and I got matching tattoos early January 2019. I noticed obvious fading in two letters on my tattoo after about a month. I called and asked if they'd be able to touch it up the next time I was in town. The tattoo artist told me to call back closer to the date we'd be there and it wouldn't be a problem as one touch up is free. I called in May and was told that our artist was no longer there and they wouldn't honor the free touch up. I was told by the old lady that was there when we got the tattoos (I don't know her name) that it would be a $50 minimum charge to fill in TWO LETTERS. Their high turnover shouldn't affect their customer service. If you're looking for quality customer service look elsewhere. read more

I went to get my industrial pierced here. I was soooo scared to get it done, but I'm so glad I did! It's so cute! We called in for small matching tattoos and the worker said there was no one available to do it. He calls back and tells us to come in. We get there and a guy at the front helps us out. We waited. People started to come in after us and they got their services done before us. After an hour of waiting, they asked us for a picture to sketch. I decided to get tattooed here because my friend gets hers done here and they all look great. I was extraordinarily disappointed (not to mention horrified) by my experience. The artist didn't shave the area beforehand, barely showed me the stencil and completely butchered the band around my arm. I asked him multiple times whether he was able to do the tattoo and he assured me that yes, he could. He did not give me the tattoo I wanted. When he told me to go check it out in the mirror, he had already cleaned up his equipment when I returned and moved onto the next client before I could tell him I wasn't satisfied with the tattoo. I would rate this place zero stars, I got my belly button pierced there and the piercer pinched some of my skin and used the wrong kind of jewelry for my belly button. I had to go to a real professional piercer and get my bellybutton checked out and he told me that I had a slight infection months after getting the piercing.The whole experience seemed rushed and as if me coming in to ask for a piercing was an inconvenience for them even though they are supposed to be a tattoo and piercing shop. Once upon a time, when I was a young dumbass, I got my tongue pierced at Peacock's which was then located on Merrill Rd. I don't remember much of the experience except the girl who pierced me was very nice and I felt bad for her because she later encountered my mother at Target who said to her, "You must be the one who pierced my daughter's tongue." How my mom managed to assume correctly that this was THE girl who was guilty of defiling her child, was (and still is) beyond my understanding of the natural order of things. I think mothers develop some sort of sixth sense that enables them to innately identify anything that threatens to expose their children as anything other than the upstanding citizens of the world who they tried to raise them to be. Let's fast forward 13 years. I'm still a dumbass. I still have the tongue ring. I used to have an eyebrow ring. And I just recently got my 3rd tattoo. That 3rd tattoo was done at Peacock's (now on the corner of Beach and St. John's Bluff). The front of the shop has comfortable couches and lots of flash to browse through. The back (where the magic happens) was clean and the walls were covered with fantastically dark paintings, i.e. skulls, alien creatures, and the bride of Frankenstein who stared down at me the entire time. I wanted to get a phoenix on my arm and I was paired up with Shannon, the tattoo artist, to make it happen. I first met Shannon the week before, when I set up the appointment, and he seemed a bit humorless and more than a little condescending, so I wasn't sure if this was going to work. But, he redeemed himself by making sure I was comfortable and engaging me and my small entourage of friends in conversation, including answering a bunch of questions that I'm sure he's heard a million times. The posse was there only because none of them had ever seen a tattoo made in real life, not because I needed moral support, I swear. And I think they were also secretly hoping that I would cry. Which I didn't, thank you very much. For those who have never had a tattoo, here's what happens. Your choice body part is shaven, then sanitized. Then a transfer medium is rubbed on you which is followed by a stencil. Then the tattoo gun starts buzzing and your choice body part gets set on fire. Just kidding - it's not that bad. People seem to want to know what a tattoo feels like. At its best, it feels like repeated light pinching. At its worst, it feels like a bunch of needles being stuck into you over and over again. It is what it is. The only teeth-gritting times were when he was working on my shoulder and during the tail end of the 3rd hour when I was getting sore, tired of sitting and hungry. So, anyway, 3 hours later, I was left with a lovely and colorful phoenix on my arm. Shannon turned out to be an honest and decent guy and the price he charged was fair. Came in today to get my Labret pierced and it was pierced at a severe angle. Not only does it look insanely crooked from the outside. But since it's at an angle, the left side of the flat back Is raised super high and the right side is digging into my lip, and the left side was TEARING up my gums and teeth and catching on my teeth every time I talked. I have to take it out and wait and go to my normal piercer, who I should have waited to see. Barbie did it, and I do want to say she's a very professional, funny, and nice person, and she did my friends septum and nostril very well, but do not go there for a complex piercing, like the lip. Also tho, there's absolutely no way that she didn't see how much she messed me up and made the decision not to warn me and admit to her mistake. This complaint is even more on management and the shop as a whole. I went back in to tell the manager and to get help and they basically did not care. Didn't offer me a refund, just said I can come back when it heals back over and I literally told them I'm not coming back. I have my a Medusa lip piercing, and it's never once, even during healing, touched my gums or teeth, so I know how it should be. I'm now out $50, I have to wait to get it redone and go thru the pain of it again. They are basically a train wreck there and very unorganized. My friend and I got tattoos back in September 2012 (hers for fun, mine as a birthday present to myself) and decided on Peacock's. Shannon, the man who gave us a quote (a little overpriced since we only got text), was very condescending and patronizing and treated us like he didn't really care whether he got our business or not. And then, when I told him I wanted him a typewriter-esque font, he shrugged and seemed irritated when I told him that I didn't like the fonts he was showing me. Spencer, the man who tattooed us, was very cute and nice - made sure that you liked your tattoo and you were comfortable. He talked and kept up good conversation. However, it being a Saturday night, a drunk lady came in and kept bothering me/Spencer in the back room. Instead of directly telling her that he was busy or that she couldn't be tattooed due to being intoxicated, he only laughed nervously and didn't do anything. So having a very loud, obnoxious woman hovering over me getting a tattoo and having no one do anything about it was annoying. Tattoo is good - never peeled or anything and still looks good. The most recent piercer that assisted me made sure to have a clean dot where I wanted my piercings and she had me check the dots to make sure they were exactly where I wanted them. I went here a while ago for a tattoo and had a pleasant experience so i decided to go back to get my septum pierced. Unfortunately, Alaina was in that day and a) was late b) set up for me very very quickly without much cleaning and without any markings or lines or consulting me about placement and c) pierced my septum with a crooked clamp which led to blood streaming down my nose into my mouth as she tried to clean it with Q tips. I was horrified. She was not very upset about it and took no responsibility. However, I was issued a full refund. I returned 2 weeks later to get my septum done by Barbie, who was AMAZINGGG!!! She was so kind and helpful and made me feel so much more comfortable.
