Darlington is an…read moreaverage-sized town, yet its Primark store is one of the biggest I've seen, and it stocks a lot of items that I've only previously seen in the Oxford St, London store, such as its skincare ranges. The Primark store is now located in the Cornmill shopping centre, on the site of what once was, the C & A store, after moving from a location on the outskirts of town a few years ago. The Primark in Darlington is the first I'd ever heard of, a lot of years ago now, and before it ever became fashionable. The windows of the store always look inviting, with lots of models, male and female, young and old, sporting Primark's newest clothing ranges and accessories. At the entrance to the store there's usually a couple of sales racks, which does make the store look a bit cheap, in my opinion, but the rest of the store is well looked after, with tidy racks and rails and no clothes/hangers cluttering up the floors. This store has an extensive underwear and nightwear section on the ground floor as well. Upstairs, the menswear, childrenswear and Homeware are all squeezed on to one floor, so their ranges aren't quite as impressive as the women's, but there's still a decent level of stock, and it's all clean and tidy there too. This Primark does have a good selection of products that other Primarks I've visited don't have - the aforementioned 'smellies' and a gift section, with make-up sets and Christmas crackers.

I do have a few clothes from there that have lasted me a while. This store is very big, it has mens, childrens, womens, accessories and then towels and bed stuff. I don't like it because no matter what time of day you go in, it's busy and messy. I can cope with it, but it's so crammed that it's really hard to find anything in there. The queues are always long and the staff aren't always that polite because they're so rushed off their feet that they just try and get you to hurry up and be on your way. In the more positive side of things, it's good for a bargain, I like it for cheap clothes that I don't mind wrecking and I like it for plain socks and tshirts to wear under things.

The clothes aren't always great quality but you get what you pay for - cheap and shoddy clothes! (That's because they're made in sweat shops by children) The store often looks a disordered mess with clothes on the floor and in the wrong place, especially the underwear section as most of the knickers are just arranged on tables. Overall, I avoid this shop as much as possible and only go there as a last resort.

Anyway same old evans items, some really nice clothes but really over priced. The sales area generally has rubbish in but sometimes has a few bargain buys so worth looking in. Their underwear section is really bad, in the way it does not have a good range of sizes that you would expect and the underwear is not all that sexy. Best to go in January when the sales are on. Staff are really helpful though. Do not get their store card, its a rip off on the old APR!

They still have queues at the till sometimes, especially during sales but that's to be expected. It's also very handy because it's closer to the bus station so if I buy lots of stuff I don't have to walk across the town centre with it all.

In this store it's mainly casuals, jumpers, fleece, plain tops etc although the shoe bit is quit good, often better than the big department in the newer one I find. There is also a small bit of underwear, Inspire, the brand for size 18+ and 915, the children's section in new look. The accessories are very poor with very little choice. Changing rooms are brightly coloured and have a massive seating area. There is also plenty of them.

I hope the management would look at this as sales would increase for men if you stocked sizes more in keeping with what is required. I cannot see that the thousands of items in the 30 to 36 sizes sell as they are for teenagers and not for the older person as youngsters of today want high brand items.
