Don't expect major chains (although there is a Boots the Chemist and a WHSmith bookstore) but there are many little businesses from eating and drinking establishments, little jewelry and shoe stores, hairdressers, clothes and even old fashioned sweets. Three main streets (Station Road, Eastcheap and Leys Avenue - the latter very pedestrian friendly) and you must visit the Wynd and the Arcade which are all pedestrian and full of history and interest. The staff here are very chatty and helpfull, make you feel like you can just walk round and look and not have staff on your case. The shop looks very colourful and good selection in different colours and all set out very well. I brought four items and just came under £13.00 and this is for my holiday, and includes 2 tops and 2 bottoms. It is well worth the money. Lets hope that this shop does not close down.

They have various stones ranging from pearls to birthstones etc. The prices are all very reasonable. I brought a few beautiful necklaces for my nieces, the prices varies from as cheap as just over £10 to £30, in the range I was looking in. They do have more expensive items, depending on what you want. The shop is based in a little arcade, but is well worth a visit if you are interested in fashion jewellery and costume jewellery.

The owners are always so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough and so worth a visit.
