We had an awesome meal and Orlandeaux's!…read more The atmosphere -- casual but also such a lovely lot and view w the panoramic windows. Makes it feel a little fancy. The food -- we loved every single thing we tried. Boudin balls, greens, shrimp and grits, catfish campti. Come hungry! Portions are big and for a fair price We got lucky and didn't wait too long but I've heard there can easy be an hour wait. You can sit in the bar area or enjoy the water view. So good I might be back tonight!

As the oldest continuously operating Black owned restaurant in the United States, the café has been serving incredible Creole cuisine and preserving an important piece of American culinary history since 1921. The rich history alone is worth the visit, but the outstanding food will have you coming back again and again. The legendary stuffed shrimp absolutely lives up to its reputation. Each bite is packed with flavorful Creole stuffing, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and incredibly satisfying. It's easy to understand why this dish has become one of Shreveport's signature foods. The red beans and rice with smoked sausage is another must-order, delivering rich, smoky flavors and comforting homemade goodness. Their gumbo is equally impressive--deep, hearty, and filled with authentic Louisiana flavor that tastes like it has been simmering for hours. And if you're craving a sandwich, the po'boy selections are loaded with delicious fillings and served on fresh bread that makes every bite memorable. The restaurant's location along Cross Lake creates a beautiful waterside atmosphere that makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the scenic views provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. The portions are generous, making the prices more than fair for the amount of food you receive. You definitely leave feeling like you got excellent value for your money. Even better, the staff is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful, making guests feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. If you're visiting Shreveport and want authentic Creole cuisine with incredible history, outstanding service, generous portions, and unforgettable flavors, Orlandeaux's Café is an absolute must-visit. It's not just a meal--it's a taste of Louisiana tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Entire staff had attitude after I said I'm not paying $18 for four single "meat" patties and a coke and got a refund. For a place that has a one star rating they are full of shit.

I don't know if this happens during the day but tonight my family and I walked into the restaurant to order. This woman comes out saying, "No cash because no ones at the front." Even when she was free and there was 4 people at two windows. We walked out and went through the Drive-Thru and sat down inside, but right when we open the door some other worker yelled out "Dining Room's closed!" We ignored hear because there was already a family eating. We sat down and ate until someone else tried walking in and the door was locked (This wasn't even near closing hours). The lady that yelled at us yelled the same thing at the woman trying to walk in. My family and I were pissed. The lady who yelled at us turned away right when another guy came in. I impulsively ran up to the door and unlocked it and told him to come on in. He went to order but that employee denied his order. I don't recommend coming here at all.
