Kapeller Violins was a wonderful shop, but alas, they have retired and closed the shop. Both of…read morethe owners played string instruments and were members of the Richmond Symphony. So far, there is no other shop locally that has anything in stock that can compare, and while it is tempting to say you will purchase something inexpensive and see if you or your child likes it--remember that it is hard enough to play the thing, and impossible to get lovely tones from most factory made instruments. The closest shop at this time would probably be Brobst, near D.C.

I was in Richmond for a cello workshop where a friend told me about Kapeller Violins. I was able to get an appointment before I had to head home and could not be more pleased with the result. A persistent wolf was dealt with because Jane and Brittney were willing spend the time needed to find the cause and get it corrected in addition to other needed repairs. They seemed genuinely concerned that I was happy with the result...and I am.
