It is like an Aladdin's cave full of lovely stuff to look at, and the prices are pretty good which means you can buy as well as look! Sometimes the wait to be served in the fabric department can be a bit tedious, but most of the time they are pretty efficient. There is a cafe and toilets on the upstairs floor, where they also have picture frames, paintings and ornamental things such as vases. There is a lift if you cant manage the stairs. A really great shop, I wish there was one a bit nearer Abingdon where I live!

If you don't recognise the name, they used to be the Gold and Silver Studio in Queen Street. Michael makes most of the jewellery that they sell, which is generally in either gold or platinum though they do also sell some silver, plus they do sell some pieces from other makers. They will also undertake commissions for bespoke pieces, and repair, remodel and value your own items. The only reason I do not come here more often is that I can't afford it, but I regularly drool outside the windows!

But even though it's part of a chain, House of Fraser should be commended for making it look as though it's an independent department shop. Spread over three levels it's a one-stop shop for ladies who love retail; there's fashion, cosmetics, homeware and a cafe to sit down after an exhausting shopping session. It may all seem a bit middle class but look closely and there's plenty for younger girls too. There's an Oasis, Benefit, MAC and All Saints to name but a few stands. Not the cheapest of places, but a lovely place to go if you're trying to please a whole family of shoppers. They also hold weekly one-off events so make sure you pop in to see what's happening in-store.

Staff are either very young or old (some of the ladies in the clothes area must be over 70 - lovely people, not so hot on the till technology) and are ALWAYS pushing the storecard.

It's a large shop filled floor to ceiling with cards for every occasion, for him and for her, funny and sentimental, occasions such as moving home and leaving job are also catered for with a wide range of syles and choice. They also do a wonderful range of wrapping paper, really beautiful pieces with complimenting tags and bows or ribbons as well as lovely albums and diaries. I would say some items are rather on the pricey side but you are paying for quality so it's not unreasonable.

I saw the kate middleton shoes in the window and that they were having sale on men and clothing items and some shoes. Now that I got to see the sebago shoes in person (because I couldn't find them in the US anywhere) I loved them and ordered them the minute I got back to the hotel (couldn't buy them in store because my luggage/suitcase didnt have enough room). The quality of everything in this store is great, same par with russell and bromley quality of shoes (which they have not too far away from this store). Same with clothing, great. Wish I could have bought this one jacket I really liked but it wouldn't have fit into my suitcase (next time lesson learned I'm bringing two suitcases lol- there is just too much good shopping in the UK). For those in the US, think the quality of sperrys (since its the popular boat shoe in the US) but I think the leather quality is a tad better (its softer and probably easier to break it). If your more curious on this you can google and their is more information and discussion boards on this. Sebago is more expensive though than sperrys in general and usually their is a reason for it (but then again, everything in the UK is more expensive in general). Overall, great little sebago store. Im glad I saw one in bath because I never ran into one in london surprisingly. I saw Reiss, Hobbs, Harrods, LK Bennett several times, etc. But never a sebago......wierd lol.
