I have a mechanic in northern cal but frankly I don't trust them. They are from a generation that is all about them. They are constantly complaining about doing work on my RV. I was in so cal and my water pump went out, it was Easter. I called good Sam and they recommended calling PC mechanic inc on Monday. I called good Sam they set up a tow truck and called PC Mechanic inc and spoke with an awesome service writer named Charles. This guy took care of business, explained everything, made a point to get my rig fixed ASAP and let me stay the night since by the time the tow truck came Monday it was to late to work on it. First thing at 7 am the next day they found the issue, they expedited getting the water pump and got me up and running that morning. They didn't try to find crap to charge for that didn't need to be done. Honest, trustworthy, quality work and reasonable price. So the hourly rate is $375.00 but la together it was under 450.00. The thing I look at is if you can't afford the work in the rv world don't get an rv. They require maintenance and repair. I'll tell you what, I will be making an appointment to have all the other stuff done I want done in November. Would recommend this place to all RVers read more

I took my vintage (1998 Georgie Boy, Maverick) in with a P0306 OBD code on a Ford Triton V10. Misfire on No 6. I decided to have all the plugs and coils replaced. Number 6 is a well known coil to go bad. The best thing about getting them all replaced was the mechanic found the number 3 plug had backed itself loose. He was able to use a tap to recover the threads and get a new plug in. Overall, I was very satisfied with their service. Front office staff was friendly and professional and the whole place is really clean. I will definitely recommend them to friends with RV's. Thanks to everyone at PC Mechanical. read more

Terrible experience - buyer beware! I showed up in person to make an appointment. Chad the service writer took all my information and scheduled my motorhome for two weeks later. On the appointed day I arrived only to be told by Mark the other service writer that they had no record of me. However, he also took all my information and I left the RV. After no phone call for 5 days I went in to check the progress only to be told they had not started. When asked when they could start repairs Mark basically said he had no idea. When I told him I would just take my RV home he got mad at me and gave me plenty of negative attitude. Do not recommend, their organization is a disaster without regard for the customer. read more

I called ahead and made an appointment to have my Class A diesel pusher RV's airbag suspension checked out. I had been told by Camping World in Valencia that there was a significant problem and to have it checked out. I could have been totally ripped off but instead, I had three guys checking out my coach, explaining that there was not a problem and that the sound I heard was only air equalization. I left with no work being done. But I can tell you that when I was walked through the indoor RV work area with done of the coaches lifted up in the air, I was impressed with how clean and organized everything was. Well, after a timely repair to our Jeep tow bar we traveled on to our next destination, Oakland. When we arrived we found we had lost another bolt on the assembly! Very upset we call PC Mechanical... it was not one of the new bolts they had just installed but another older bolt... They advised us to stop by the shop on our way towards home. Not a problem as we love the area. Long story short and calls into Blue Ox tow company, they discovered it was the tow assembly not the Jeep! Blue Ox was as old as the coach, 14 years. We now have a new Blue Ox tow system and are finally confident in towing our Jeep. PC Engineering is awesome. Charles got me right in for an appointment and Dave who is obviously a supervisor got involved and did a lot of the work to get us on the road again quickly. We are so glad we found these guys and gals. We hung out with our dogs on the lawn for the five or six hours it took to replace 10 control arm bushings on the rear end of our 21-year-old Monaco coach. All for a reasonable price. Their facility is incredible. Next time we are in Santa Maria I plan on getting the front control arm bushings replaced by these guys. Whether they need it or not. read more

They generally accomplished the repairs. It was expensive, but what isn't? Problem I had was the people who did the work were not careful with our rig. Grease on the carpet, on walls near work done and the most upsetting a strip of flooring shredded by the screwdriver that appeared from under a slide when we opened the rig later at home. I was able to clean the carpet and walls but what about the floor?, I'm stuck with a mandatory area rug. read more

I had a problem with my Onan generator on my motorhome. I was given PC Mechanical's number as an authorized repair center for Onan by the Cummins/Onan service center in Ventura, Ca. Contacted PC upon arrival in Pismo Beach. Made arrangements through Charles to have a tech come to our rig. I am pleased to say that Mario did an exceptional job getting my generator up and running and even changed out the pressure relief valve on the hot water tank. Very happy to recommend PC Mechanical. We bought a new RV about 6 months ago and were going to take it out this weekend when I noticed a problem with the running lights staying on, it appeared to be some sort of short. I didn't know who to take it too and who does RV repair so did a search and most are out of the area and those didn't have very good reviews. I did notice one that was in Santa Maria, PC Mechanical but it wasn't an RV outlet so decided to check it out as it is so close. Needless to say I'm glad I went, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. I told them we were trying to go camping the next day and they said they would try and get it fixed as quick as possible. Easy to get the RV in and out, they do every kind of servicing needed for an RV. I was shocked when an hour and a half later they called to say they found the problem and fixed it. Also pleasantly surprised the cost was actually less than my deductible on the warranty. I found my RV mechanic for the future. Definitely a 5 star rating. read more

We were on our way from Ventura to Lopez Lake with our granddaughter when our 1991 RV started to lose power going up Gaviota Pass. It gradually got worse until I could only go around 10 mph. After being turned down by two other repair facilities in the area, Mark told us he would fit us in. Turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter; they had to order it from Oceanside. Mark was kind enough to give us a ride to the nearest Radisson where they were very accommodating and allowed us to stay in their lobby until our daughter arrived to pick us up. We returned a few days later to retrieve the RV. PC Mechanical did a great job diagnosing and replacing the converter. Highly recommend them; just wish they were in our area! read more

I had a 7 pin plug adapter installed on my hitch by my local Hyundai dealership. They welded it in a very low position and it got bumped anytime I drove in or out of a steep driveway. Over time it the wires frayed and the bracket became loose. It could no longer be used. On a visit to my parents house in Santa Maria my father called PC Mechanical to see if they could repair it. Mark generously offered to take a look at it a few days later when they had an open appointment. My father explained that I was only visiting until the end of the day. Mark was able to fit us in on the same day. Not only did he accommodate us on super short notice, he also had the new plug welded in a position that it no longer scrapes the ground. In Orange County the phone estimate with parts and labor was $575, here I paid about a 1/4 of that! I truly appreciate the prompt, fair, and quality work we received. I have taken my RV to PC Mechanical on several occasions for maintenance and once to have furniture install with good results. So I asked them to wire up a flexible solar panel system I purchased from Renogy. I installed the panels myself and had PC Mechanical wire the system and install the controller. They had installed other manufactures systems before and assured me that they could handle the job. Unfortunately, they had to work on the system 3 times over 8 months to get it working properly. Renogy replaced the controller twice under warranty. It is not clear what caused the first controller to fail. Initially, it was believed that it was defective, but looking back it was wired incorrectly. I spent hours of my own time trouble shooting the system after each of the first two trips to PC Mechanical. After the second trip and a seconded failed controller it was determined that they had wired system the incorrectly. It wasn't until the third time they worked on the system that they bothered verified that it was working before the RV left the shop. What set me off today enough to write this review was the poor attitude of the service manager! I received a bill for the most recent work done on the system so I called to ask that it be waived. I was made to feel that I was the bad guy in this situation. I was grudgingly told to rip up the bill and then was hung up on. I paid $2,400 to have work done by a company who claimed to know what they were doing. They fried two $800 controllers, which luckily the manufacture replaced at no cost! They wasted hours and hours of my time and then they ended the relationship by rudely hanging up on me. Clearly, they don't want my business! Two bad solar controllers, wrong gauge wiring and bad connection on roof. Where was my compensation for time and frustration? No apology what so ever. read more

I had my RV in for servicing and some pluming issues, PC Mechanical, diagnosed the pluming tank problem quickly, fixing what they could, and even giving me repair options on where to take my RV to finish the repairs quicker to meet my travel deadlines. Just before I left, they heard a sound in the engine compartment that they felt did not sound right, they called the mechanic out to the parking lot and sure enough I had a loose alternator that needed a new bolt.
