I complimented a friend wearing nice black wedges good for casual or office attire and she told me she got it from Payless. I filed that info in my mind. The next day, after fieldwork, I passed by Robinsons and saw Payless. It was a happy coincidence since they were having a sale!
When I entered I immediately noticed that there were labels on each row of shoe displays; the shoes were grouped according to shoe size. What a simple yet useful and effective idea! Why don't more shoe stores do this? It'll save time as customers will immediately know what shoes or sandals are available for their size and not request for a pair their size, only to be told after some waiting time that their size is not in stock.
Among the shoes, I was happy to find out models of comfortable ones with soft soles. A sales staff patiently assisted me and showed me the comfortable pairs and how I could identify them. Actually, I noticed that the sales staff here are all friendly and helpful - kudos to them.
I ended up buying comfortable sandals which I could wear with cocktail dresses (perfect for semiformal events!) and can also be used for casual but dressy clothes. I think my discount was 20%. The final bill was about P1,000. That's a reasonable price, considering the design and the comfort of the sandals. read more
