How often do we see THAT these days? A business owner who is present , cares, and is hands-on enough to make a phone call. Scott McCartney, owner of 1st Choice, came across as compassionate and committed, friendly and professional. He reinforced in my mind that his company is a first class organization, in spite of the experience that I had on a "one call close" sales presentation. I think these guys are definitely "legit", but I also recommend getting other bids and educating yourself about your own project before committing.

Contracted with Aaron Trommelen of Specialty Construction to erect a metal carport from a kit I…read morepurchased from a vendor, and build a wooden platform for metal steps to abut to. This was to be shade and shelter from rain for my camper. After some delays ( Aaron seemed to be doing this as a side job and only when not working on his primary projects) the shelter was completed and looks good, sturdy. The project was abandoned when the camper was backed under the shelter and I went out of town for a month. Yes I know I should not have paid in full until the job was comlplete. I did however pay in full and gave him $3,400- $200 more than I agreed to because I felt the job was good and I trusted him. The platform was never completed by him although upon contact when I got back he said he would. I also discovered the shelter leaks significantly. Eight weeks after the original shelter was completed I finally paid someone else to move the partially constructed platform in place and complete it. The shelter still leaks. It seems Aaron Trommelen is now working out of town. The least he could have done is let me know what was happening. I feel I was very understanding of all of the delays but in the end he stopped responding. Aaron Trommelen of Specialty Construction is not a man of his word and not to be trusted.

Nancy…read moreand and David came out to measure our windows and give us a free estimate on the cost of added drapes over all of our interior windows in our home. Because of the intricate crown molding above each window frame and door frame, it was difficult for my husband and I to do the window dressing ourselves. We went to Lowes, Home Depot, JcPenny, Target, Dillards, etc and no one had the specifications (lenght/width of rods, and length of drapes) to accommodate our needs. Luckily, after viewing Window Decor and More's (WD&M) 5 star rating, we knew this business was perfect for our wants/needs. The estimate took about two hours to do: we had 5 windows and 3 sets of doors that required drapes and a dining room that required Roman Shades. Nancy helped to guide my husband and I through the process and with selecting the fabric materials. Because it was our first time using this company, and because we got our entire house done, we were given 10% off. Nancy and David also had a payment plan that allowed us to pay 50% upfront and then the remaining was due when the drapes were installed. After placing the order, the drapes, which were custom-made, took 6 weeks to make. What would have only taken one day to complete installation, took two (each day a week a part) because the place that makes the drapes forgot to send a rod and one section of drapes. While this was not WD&M's fault, they did their best and worked their fastest to insure that we got the lost fabric ASAP and that my husband and I were satisfied to the fullest (which we are). All in all, this place is amazing and the staff is superb. The two gentlemen who came out to our place were courteous and pleasant and even enjoyed giving my kitten a couple rubs of the belly here and there.
