I decided on this place because there was a restaurant on site, so I thought that would be convenient. Ironically, we did not eat at the on-site restaurant. Check in/check out was easy. I didn't really run into any other staff. The bed was comfy. The TV took a little getting used to since there were multiple remotes. The walls were thick enough that you didn't hear your neighbor's conversations...just the guy moaning loudly next door that sounded like it may have been a massive hangover or a nightmare. (Could've gone either way). I didn't use the shower when there, so I cannot comment on that. The toilet and sink had good water pressure. Everything was clean. The fridge was cold. The AC worked great. No complaints.

The only issue we had is the TV hadn't quite been connected yet, I guess. There were a bunch of new TVs in the office so that was our assumption. The remote didn't work and even tho' it was connected to HDMI, there was nothing but snow. However, we were given two free breakfast coupons to compensate. We would definitely stay at this location in the future!

So, if you're looking for an affordable place in Gila Bend, I'd recommend the Palms Inn, but remember it's "two-star".

It would've been nice to take a dip in the pool, but it wasn't very clean, or welcoming. Then again, it is November, and perhaps it was closed for the season. It's family run, and the folks I spoke to in the office were quite pleasant and accommodating.

This hotel looks a little run down but it is way clean and very affordable. The man at the office was super nice and helpful and was even willing to not charge tax cause he thought I didn't have enough cash but I found some. It's so nice to have the car right outside our door since we are on a road trip and don't want to unpack. It looks like a lot of the cars/trucks in the parking lot belong to blue collar workers. They have great Internet access, washers and dryers, a pool, barbecues, cable tv and a microwave and fridge in the room. One downside could be that a train passes by here every so often. I would totally come back here cause I also liked that it takes one second to get from the office to your room or the pool or the ice machine and in some bigger/nicer/more expensive hotels you have to walk forever to get to these places.

The setting itself is really lovely; an old school with an interior courtyard, turned into simple but warm rooms to stay at. Every time the rooms have been impeccably clean and I love that you just use a code to get in and out. The javelina pillow on the bed is also so comforting and cute! The gift shop is fantastic if you want to support local makers and get some unique gifts for yourself or others, many with a strong emphasis on the Sonoran Desert. Every gift I've purchased here has been a huge hit with the recipients. And the staff? Lovely. All of them are friendly and attentive, even the 4-legged one! These folks genuinely seem to enjoy where they work and get along with their coworkers. The one hit or miss with this place is the food. I've had some great meals and I've had some lackluster ones. But I appreciate the complimentary daily brewed coffee from Curley's from 7-11am (I think those are the hours!). And if you prefer something a little fancier, then visit Curley's, a 2 minute walk around the corner, and while you're there, treat yourself to one of their delicious pastries.

When we showed up at this hotel, which I had booked through Expedia, the clerk said that I shouldn't have done that, because it cost me $130 through Expedia when I could have gotten it for $90 if I had just called the hotel directly to book a room. The room the clerk gave me had no shampoo, conditioner, coffee, bar soap, nor a knob for the bathroom door. And the shower stall had no grab bar, so my elderly mother didn't feel safe using the shower there, without anything to hold on to in case the floor got slippery, potentially putting her in danger of a serious bone break. We stuffed socks into the hole in the bathroom door where a knob should be to give each other privacy when using the bathroom. The parking lot is gravel instead of blacktop, so a little bit tricky to walk on, as the little gravel could shift on you while walking in the parking area. Could've been better, but the beds were comfortable to sleep on, solid yet soft, and they were clean, so I can't give this place any less than two stars, because the beds at least were satisfactory.

It's near mile marker 87, about 64 miles west of Phoenix, AZ and 68 miles east of Quartzsite, AZ. The rest area has clean restroom facilities, plenty of parking for vehicles of different sizes (from motorcycles to 18-wheelers), several picnic areas, dog walking area, snack machines behind heavy metal bars, and a water spigot. There are some fun informational signs about topics unique to Arizona --(1) rattlesnakes, Gila monsters, and scorpions. (2) state parks, attractions. (3) fun facts about cacti. (4) and my favorite, the 5 Cs of Arizona: cattle, citrus, climate, copper, and cotton. My understanding is that Arizona allows motorists to stay here overnight, and restrooms are open 24/7; however, it's likely to be very noisy given its proximity to the freeway and the high volume of trucks and traffic coming into the rest area.
