Give the name a Google and you'll see why they don't name him. He managed to get his USDA breeding license SUSPENDED in 2008, which REALLY takes some effort as the USDA is not exactly tough on puppy mill enforcement: https://oalj.oha.usda.gov/sites/default/files/AWA-06-0023_080225.pdf (refusal to admit the inspectors, btw, means he probably declined to let them in at some point knowing how bad things were...all those violations are from when he WILLINGLY allowed inspectors in. Can you imagine how ugly it must've been if the violations in the report are what he allowed them to see??) If you don't want to read the PDF, imagine those heartbreaking Sarah McLaughlan ASPCA ads (in the aaaarms of the aaaangels) and that about sums it up. Fuzzypups is nothing but a broker for a (particularly gruesome) puppy mill. I'm sure they'll claim he cleaned up his act or something, but think about it a minute- does someone who lets things get that bad actually "care about dogs" enough to turn things around and somehow become a responsible breeder working only for the betterment of the dogs and not for sheer profits? Let me answer that for you... NO! And no, I don't have a "fuzzypup," I ran across them while searching for a REPUTABLE havanese breeder and was absolutely appalled that these disgusting mill brokers tried to paint themselves as a "family business all about the dogs." Give me a break. All about the Benjamins maybe. I just laid my rescued mill dog (from a mill dog shelter, not "rescued" by buying them from the mill!!) to rest, about 5 years before her breed's typical lifespan, after years of illness and suffering, because people like ol' Clem and Fuzzypups couldn't care less if they're churning out dogs that are going to suffer from painful health defects all their short lives. They'd rather make money off torturing sentient creatures- and make no bones about it, that's what dogs in mills go through- torture! Before they accuse me of being against breeders, there's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a dog from a responsible breeder who is doing everything they can to produce healthy, well adjusted dogs, better the breed, and do right by dogkind. Heck, I'm looking for a good breeder myself, for my own reasons. Fuzzypups is NOT a good breeder, nor is Clem Disterhaupt. Sure, you might get lucky and end up with a healthy or psychologically sound dog if you buy from Fuzzypups, but based on other reviews it's quite the gamble. MORE IMPORTANTLY, any money you give to Fuzzypups, whether through boarding, grooming, or buying a puppy, is going directly back into the mill industry and ensuring people like Clem Disterhaupt can stay in business to keep churning out mill puppies. If you care about dogs AT ALL, stay far, FAR away!!

I spent two years searching for a puppy when I retired. In 2018, I found Nick and adopted my dog daughter. She is healthy, smart, beautiful, playful, fun with perfect temperament. Nick is such a great breeder, I followed every instruction and read all the books and information he recommended. Since then, I read extensively regarding raising puppets and cobberdogs. I could attest everything Nick shared are textbook accurate, and experiences learned from real life. In 2021, When our dog daughter was three, I called Nick telling him that we were ready to have another dog baby. After the long wait, we got a little boy. This time I flew to Nick's farm in Colorado to pick up the puppet in person. Any people who has some amount of knowledge SHOULD know no professional breeder would allow any stranger to visit dog nursery to see new puppets and dog parents, because breeders need to protect their dogs, as strangers could unknowingly bringing virus/germs and wiping out entire litters. When I was leaving, Nick gave me lots of paper towels in case little puppet got motion sickness in car and airplane. Our new dog son arrived home with no accident at all. Like his sister, our dog son is gorgeous, smart, healthy, active, fun, and a quick learner. He is 2 and half years old now, knows so many tricks, including sing along with daddy. Our dog daughter and son have comprehensive pet care, they have been super healthy without any health issues. Both dog kids are such charmers, our vets, vet techs and groomers all adore them, sometimes I think they spoil them. I am in Phoenix, here I have met several Cobberdog parents who got their dog kids from Nick. All of them are super happy with Nick and their dog kids. Some of them are Nick's repeat customers. I could not recommend Nick,and his Highlanders Cobberdogs enough. A side notes: Nick is right, there is no bad dog, only bad dog parents. This theory is confirmed by the famous dog breeders Monks of New Skete in all of their dog raising books.

I do have concerns with the health of the shop because it is VERY dusty in there. Maxx does eat poop and I'm not sure if that's because he was used to it being in a small area with poop. He was a little harder to potty train because he's very used to peeing anywhere. ( I've had four other dogs) He is such an amazing puppy and they did give a first free vet visit. Customer service is great and they give us their phone number if we ever needed help with him. They would message us anytime a new puppy that we wanted came into the store. I am very fortunate that he is very happy and healthy. I was very skeptical at first if he would have any diseases or anything but he's very healthy. I would directly buy from a breeder that's trustworthy next time. Maxx is like my baby so I wouldn't trade him for anything. The store does need higher maintenance.
