Great place to adopt! Beaux has been a joy and the adoption process was very smooth and quick! It does take a bit to get to the point of being able to get an appointment but it's well worth the wait!

My fiance and I went to an adoption event in the Ellington location, we did not know what to expect but we were happily surprised when we got to meet the newest member of our family, Luna Tripp! They couldn't have handled the adoption any better even with COVID-19.

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE I just adopted my puppy, gautier (booze now) from here. He's the cutest little dude we love Him dearly but be careful from adopting here. I made the mistake of not reading reviews before adopting. It seems that i am not the only person who has dealt with similar situations. When i went to adopt him They asked me no questions before taking him home or asked for any references. They did warn me about his heart murmur but the day i took him i noticed an insane amount of itching and parasites in his poop let alone they had just told me he was completely healthy and dewormed. After a few days of keeping a eye on him i realized something was up so i emailed them with my concerns they said they had no recollection of any of this and would ask the foster but i never heard back and it's very obvious that he was in pain and uncomfortable due to crying and whinning while scratching almost constantly through out the day. It got to the point where he would knaw at his skin till he was bleeding. Wasn't much i could do, i had already made the vet appointment but had to wait for them to squeeze me in he ended up having a skin issue, worms and a parasite. They should have either told me or should've realized something was wrong because it took me less than 2 days to notice. I believe this place in unprofessional and a scam. I spent $500 thinking i was getting a healthy puppy but now it's ended up being a lot more due to all vet bills and medications he is on. Even with all his medical complications he is still the perfect little dude and I'm glad i got to take him before things got worse for him.

This was one of our first pics of our baby. She is much bigger now but still just as cuddly ;)

Please read my review. Some people have awful things to say off of a brief encounter. I do not think that is fair. We originally contacted PawSafe back in Feb. 2019. We spoke to Diane via email and were directed to fill out an application for adoption. Unfortunately, my husband got a horrendous stomach bug and we could not go to our original meeting. We decided to go meet an adorable puppy at an event. We got there as soon as the event started and I literally took the puppy fka Spot from Granny's litter out of a volunteer's hands. It was an immediate love at first sight. After filling out the appropriate paperwork, we were able to take her home. Not only was Diane incredibly approachable, but she is a realist which I fully appreciate. She told us all of the pros and cons of a little puppy and made sure that we were aware of all of the responsibilities she came with. Our pup, Roxy, is now 10 months old and probably the most spoiled pup in the world. We absolutely loved working with PawSafe and have begun to look for a second pup using their rescue again. I will tell you, despite some of the awful reviews above, they have been instrumental in finding a good fit for our furbaby. They gave us some really helpful tips on how to best prepare our dog for an additional pet. I look forward to many years of remaining active in the alumni page and working alongside Diane to find the perfect fit for our family. This is my one plead. Please do not judge this organization on some of the reviews I've read. They are ignorant and seem to be muddied by the disappointment in not getting a pet. Diane has been nothing but nice and knowledgeable. She is very protective of her puppies so if she didn't think it was a good fit, she was probably right.

This is a great organization. (be sure to read the hidden reviews below the visible ones). Marie G gives a thoughtful review...but admits it was no-ones fault that her dog developed issues afterward and paw safe did a great job taking her dog back. Not a 2 star review...more like a 4 or 5. We adopted two sisters and they let us see them first as we told them that if we liked them we would take both. Our vet said who-ever spayed them did a good job. The business side of the adoption was professional. Our family wouldn't be the same without them. Can't speak to the crowds, but I give 1 star to Rose's parenting skills...who brings children to see puppies unless they know they can get a puppy they want.

We adopted our puppy over the weekend 12/10/16 adoption event by PawSafe. From reading the previous reviews, I gathered that it's best to get there first thing bright and early. My husband and I woke up at 5:30 AM and got there at 7:00 AM. When we got there the line was already beginning to build up, we were the 17th family in line. The first in line had arrived from Massachusetts at 7:00 PM (the night before) and camped out the store for the night! They got the puppy they came for - Molly :) There were a total of about 30 to 40 families. Thankfully my husband decided to pack a couple of park chairs and a blanket for the cold December morning. We were surrounded by friendly folks ready to adopt a puppy and we had a wonderful social time that helped the time pass effortlessly. At 8:00 AM the volunteers started appearing. One of the very good things they did is have us start signing in so we could secure our number and then go out and get breakfast or coffee instead of waiting till the event start time out in the cold. They asked us to be back by 9:15 AM so they could promptly start maneuvering the crowd at 9:30 AM. We decided to go out to breakfast at a nearby diner with some folks whom we had just met at the event waiting line behind us. As soon as we got back around 9:10 AM, the doors to PetSmart were open and puppies lined up in crates with their foster families. There was an air of excitement and everyone including the friendly volunteers were in high spirits. They had families line up in a separate aisle, in the order of the sign in. They called out names and the families walked over to the next aisle over with the puppies. Even while waiting in line people were happy and social with a lot of sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. The older dogs were being walked outside by their foster families. The whole process was seamless and well done especially considering it was being done by a volunteer organization. They even had puppy take home gift bags with dog food with dog treats. What was more impressive was the the gift bag was tailored size specific! We adopted a large breed puppy at 8 weeks old and the bag had large breed kibbles. This was extremely helpful since we were to overwhelmed to shop aa soon as we found the puppy of our choice cuddled in our arms. They had instructions for us on diet and care, all the vaccination and health paperwork to take to our vets. All the information we needed was ready in hand. I would like to extend our thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and foster families for effortlessly working and giving hope to so many animals to find families and make a forever home for these helpless creatures. Thank you and God bless each and everyone of you! Cheers always, Kempshall and Sanya McAndrew (Proud dad and mom to puppy Hook)

I have two dogs that I adopted through Pawsafe! I had such a good experience the first time, I was happy to return when looking to add another pupper to our family. This rescue has a big group of volunteers who foster so many of these dogs when they come up from transport and they work hard to keep the dogs out of the kennel and in warm and happy homes where they can bond with people and other animals while they wait for a forever home. Both of my dogs were loved up in foster care before they came to my home. I've had no problems with communication and getting all my questions answered and I felt informed every step of the way. The adoption fee is what it is and these dogs came home to me and were already fixed and microchipped, had great vet care along the way and it also covers their cost of transport. It is no small job to save these animals but these people never stop rescuing. And the best part of it all is that I've got these amazing friends in my life now and as it turns out, they rescued me. Life is more fun with a dog, I promise

This is my awesome puppy, Freddie. We believe she is a border collie mix.

I adopted a puppy at the January 28th PawSafe adoption event held at Choice Pet Supply in Carmel NY. It was very well run, and I am very happy with my new puppy. I had filled out my paperwork about a week before and was invited to attend (email from Diane). The advertised start time for the event was 10:00AM, but I had heard that it was a good idea to get there early. I arrived at about 4:30 and that made me 2nd in line. The people in front of me got there at 4:00. Within 20 minutes there were 3 more small groups in line. By 7:30 there were a total of about 25 groups in line and when the store unlocked its doors (around 7:55) there were about 40. Just inside the door there was a sign in sheet and we each wrote our names in order. This sign in sheet is the most important thing because this is the order you will be called in when the event begins. We then had some time before the PawSafe people arrived at the store to set up, so we could shop in the store or go to one of the breakfast or coffee shops nearby. There is a Starbucks a few doors down in the same shopping center and a Dunkin Donuts and a McDonalds across the street. At about 8:45 the PawSafe people started setting things up, so they cleared everyone out of the first aisle of the store. It was crowded in the other aisles as we listened to them getting ready. We were given some instructions on how things would work. These instructions can all be found on the PawSafe site, but it was good to hear them again. At about 9:30 they were ready and called for anyone who had signed up for an adult dog. These people were the first to receive their new pets. They then called out the first 5 names on the sign in sheet and lined us up in the closest aisle to where they had the puppies. We had all picked a favorite puppy from the pictures and profiles on the PawSafe site, but we were allowed to look at any of the puppies and no one was allowed to pick a puppy to adopt until the previous person had made their final selection. The family in front of me asked to look at 2 puppies. Neither of these puppies were ones that I was interested in so I was also allowed in and I asked to look at 3 specific puppies. I was led to the first one by a volunteer and allowed to sit with it and see if I liked it. Each puppy has a volunteer who takes care of it until it is adopted, so they are all sitting with their volunteers as you walk through. The pictures and descriptions on the PawSafe site are very good. The puppies and dogs I recognized were exactly like their pictures and as described. I was led to and looked at all the puppies I thought might be best, but quickly decided on the first one. That was it. Another volunteer helped me hold my new puppy as I signed the final paperwork and paid the adoption fee. I even received a treat bag from Choice Pet Supply as I left. I was done by about 10:20. I don't know how long the people further back in line waited, but I would guess it took at least a few hours to get everyone through. My advice is to make sure you get there early so you can be one of the first to sign in. Once you have signed in, don't worry - they are very good about following the order on the sign in sheet. Be back before 9:30 so you don't miss anything. Once it is your turn they will not let anyone else adopt the puppies you are looking at until you make your choice. PawSafe did a great job!

Pawsafe is the BEST! I recently rescued my puppy Zeus out of a local foster home. The process was easy and i was really impressed because you can tell they treat the dogs they save like their own. Thank you Pawsafe for connecting me with my fur baby and for donating your time to dogs in need!!!

My wife and I are looking for any hypoallergenic dog to adopt near Hopewell junction, what do we have to do??…

We do not see hypoallergenic dogs very often but the best thing to do is check our website: www.pawsafe.org as the dogs in our care are listed there!

Well I would like to adopt this cute little dog and I was unable to locate 311 Route 292. I live just down the block and drove up there. there exists no Animal Rescue only a Pet Motel. so what is going on?
