Jordin was in the midst of a busy Spring as things were changing quickly, but she made the time and effort to get in touch, set up a meet and greet, and start cat sitting for me. I've been using her services ever since then. Jordin is super communicative and easy to work with. She has an app for contact which is great, it means all of our conversations, scheduling, invoices, etc are all in one place and there's never any confusion. I like that I can view her calendar and see which dates are available before I send a request, and double-check if I already booked ahead for any trips. She also posts updates any time they will be closed or busy holiday weekends are coming up. Her prices are reasonable, similar to what I was paying the previous sitters. Jordin's very sweet with the cats, diligent about bringing in mail, emptying the litter tray, feeding the girls and all of that. She has always followed our instructions and communicates any problems. She sends a little report at the end of each visit with photos, which is always a nice touch. I highly recommend their services.

From the very first session, Titus was immediately receptive to Dawn. She has such a calm, confident presence and a clear gift for connecting with dogs. What really set her apart, though, is that she didn't just train Titus--she trained me, too. Once she showed me how to properly work with him using clear, consistent commands and rewards, everything clicked into place. The improvement in his behavior has been fast and honestly kind of amazing. Dawn is patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about setting you and your dog up for long-term success. I can't recommend her enough--if you're looking for a trainer who really knows what she's doing, look no further than Happy Dog Obedience!

I think Dawn is a literal dog whisperer. When we met her initially, our dog (who we were desperate…read morefor help with, and on the verge of trying to rehome - and we have a LOT of prior dog experience!) immediately clued in to what she wanted him to do like he had always known her and we knew immediately we wanted her help. Her pricing is incredibly reasonable compared to other options as well, we were so, so happy and relieved to hire her for a training course. Our dog is a Mallinois/Boxer/Black Mouth Cur mix with a lot of energy and he is STRONG at 85lbs. After just 2 of our 5 sessions with Dawn, he is already infinitely better behaved and happier, too! We all are. It is very important that you are consistent with your dog and keep up what you and your dog learn from Dawn between and after sessions to get the results you will want, but wow, what a positive change you get from that effort! If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Emily Scott - Emily Scott

I just finished 2 of 4 sessions so far with Emily Scott, and I could not be more happy with the…read moreresults. Some background about my dog: We rescued a female 3-year-old German Shepherd mix 5 months ago. She was driving us absolutely insane. She is: - Very pushy and demanding for attention. To get our attention, she'd nip at us, paw at us, gnaw at our hips, and even hump us. - Bad house manners: She'd get into mischief like pulling on cords, digging in plants, and chewing her bed apart. - Jumps on counters, tables, and people. - Very mouthy. - Territorial barking. - Reactive on leash. Barks, lunges, growls and whines at other dogs when we're on a walk. - Overall bad at leash walking. Pulls, plays tug with her leash, crosses us, jumps over bushes. - She can't just RELAX. Always looking at us for the next activity (even if we've walked for an hour). Follows us around everywhere. - Under-socialized. She loves dogs but has absolutely no etiquette (will not respond to other dogs' corrections). Why I highly recommend Emily Scott: - Before finding Emily, I was talking to another trainer here in Fresno area who had a 5-star rating on Yelp(!!), and let me tell you: Emily Scott is LIGHT YEARS ahead of this other positive reinforcement trainer. After an initial consultation, this other trainer told me my dog just needs to do her basic obedience training program. What?! Look at my list up there! My dog needs way more than basic obedience. With Emily Scott, we're doing her "Advanced Obedience Training Program for Pushy and Adolescent Dogs" which addresses all the issues I identified up there. After talking to other dog owners in Fresno who have done professional training, I truly believe Emily Scott is the best positive reinforcement dog trainer in Central Valley. She is probably one of the best in California! My Bay Area friends haven't seen the same level of success with their dogs. - Emily Scott will meet you where you're at in your training and not waste your time. I've spent countless hours researching positive reinforcement techniques for every issue: Zak George. Kikopup. Relaxation protocol. Positive reinforcement Facebook groups and subreddits. Before Emily, we already successfully implemented a lot of basic obedience (sit, down, come, look at me, place, calm settle). I feel like I knew a lot already, but I was at a point where I was overwhelmed by all the information: what to prioritize? how do I know if it's working? when do I try something else? Emily Scott recognizes and respects what we've tried, explains why some things weren't working for us, gave us new strategies, with clear demonstrations, and truly put us on track for faster results. My dog has improved SO quickly in so many ways, and it is completely thanks to what we've learned from Emily. If my review hasn't convinced you to hire Emily Scott, please check out her Instagram (@escottk9s) where she posts about other dogs & dog owners she's helped.

The only part he couldn't complete was staying alone for 3 minutes with the evaluator--which, from my understanding, can be waived since he's my service dog. Then she claimed he failed three portions, which was simply not true. I was so upset I asked her to redo the test. She ran through everything on camera again, and he did great. Then she brought out another dog and started clicking while bringing it over--something no trainer should do. My dog gave a subtle growl but stayed in place. She jumped on that, said he failed, refused to continue the evaluation, and tried to push me into training with her. What a crook. If you use her, I promise issues will come up eventually. I paid $75 for that evaluation, and my dog passed the test with flying colors. WHAT A CROOK! FKIN SCAMMER. I thought I replied to her comment, but I sent her a message directly, so I am sharing with you what I said to her. Please work to uphold the integrity of the business: She contradicted herself, calling my dog sweet while claiming "aggression" was the issue. He passed every requirement except the 3-minute stay, which she refused to complete. Yes, he whined, but the entire interaction felt off from the start. Thank you for the refund, but it was well deserved. The whole process was shady--you were clearly ready to fail him. Completely inappropriate.
