For 15 years we trusted Liz and Tori with our Wheaten, Saylor. Every 4 weeks she got a full groom. Saylor got excited when we said "want to go see Liz - Tori"! She ran in with high energy, couldn't wait to see them! After losing Saylor we now have Shelby - a Wheaten puppy who goes to Paw and Claws every 4 weeks for a full groom! She loves going. I am EXTREMELY grateful that Liz takes her time and is mindful of the stress that grooming puts on the animal! I'd rather it take 4-6 hours with minimum stress on my furbaby than an hour and a half of constant torment and stress! Every time I took my pup back her behavior got worse. I was told it's my fault because I spoil her. The owner has no people skills. I have no problem with my Shorkie at home. She likes to be bathed and dried. Brushed everyday is her treat. She loves it. So my suspicions aren't good read more

One word describes this place.... TERRIBLE! Brought our 8 month pup here for a grooming on a Friday. Dropped off at 815am called twice through the day to check status, picked up at 330pm. My pup was still not finished. 7 hours and you can't even finish grooming a dog is ridiculous. Then owner tell me to bring the dog back to finish, I say when? She tells me next Friday! Holy cow, you now want me to wait a week to have my grooming completed, crazy. Besides all this she's telling me we picked the wrong dog for our family, and that she bites and all these other negative things. Just to find out she's trying to drum up her side business of training. Very shady business, stay away and go somewhere else if you can. read more

We have been taking our dogs here for years and they are simply outstanding. Not only do they do a great job grooming, but they genuinely care for each of our dogs. During the pandemic they were open to groom our dogs and took better care than any other local business to maintain the safety of not just their workers but their customers and their dogs as well. Owner Liz is extremely rude and has a habit of talking down to people. She's unprofessional and needs to learn as a business owner how to have people skills. I've felt uncomfortable for a while and today just confirmed it. I'm literally in shock How this woman spoke to me .. I had brought my dog here for some grooming. For the first 2 times when I had gotten him about 5 years ago. I am just writing about it now because it still infuriates me when i think about it. The place takes forever to groom the dogs. At least 4 to 6 hours. Where every other place seems to take1 to 2 hours. I did have another dog prior to this dog that I currently have. And I asked why he was more of an emotional wreck every time. And the female owner gave a lame excuse saying that the dogs need a break when grooming. And claimed that she was dog trainer. Well claiming to be one and actually being one are 2 different things. My first dog never became more relaxed. After trying after a few times. My second dog that I brought there. I brought only 2 times. The first time. I whitenesses one of the employees kicking one of the cages to get a dog to stop barking. And Lainey said something to the employee. About 6 weeks later I brought my dog in again for a grooming. And had witnessed again the same employee. Roughed up another dogs cage. I again said something to the owner. She said well he's new. I told her that's not true he's been here for at least 6 weeks. And he's still treating the animals poorly. To boot she would bust a brain vessel when I would use a credit/debit card. Because she didn't want to pay the up to 4% the cards would charge. I told her to increase the prices to reflect it or tell people that there would be a card surcharge. She didn't like the suggestion. After this last encounter. I told her I will never recommend her business. And that I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Brought my dog there a couple times and although the grooming was good , I was concerned about the 7 1/2 hr wait for my dog to be picked up . When I finally called because I thought they must be closing soon , I was told she would be ready in 20 minutes. So basically my dog was there for that many hrs with no water or being able to use the bathroom. I did ask the woman ( not the owner) about my concern and she replied that if they need to go they usually go in the tub and we wipe them . Sorry I will not put my dog though that ever again. read more

I finally found a groomer that can groom my anxious pup. They took their time with her and she came home soft and clean and NOT stressed out. I am so happy with the way they treated her and groomed her. To me it was worth every penny! read more

absolutely HORRIFIC job grooming my dog. he not only looks TERRIBLE (absolutely not how you should groom a little dog, so close to the skin) but we just noticed this morning he has scabs on his under belly where she must have nicked him!!!! I will NEVER return. I've heard from SO many people that they don't like this place and figured maybe they were being overly critical, and I needed a place open during this pandemic, but I should have listened! The owner Liz is rude and feels the need to lecture you on how to care for your dog. She's condescending and unprofessional. She was rude with me and I let her know it but I have thick skin and I continued to go back. She made the same mistake with my wife when my kids were with her. My wife gave it right back to her and we never returned. The grooming part is ok but nothing special. My dogs would stay there for 8 hours without being walked. Steer clear of this place. read more

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. Paws N Claws work is impeccable. I bring my dog there all the time and my friends, other family remembers too. If you have a nasty dog and another groomer "refuses to do it" bring it to Liz she will take care of your little companion. Their salon is ALL open, not behind a wall so you can see what's going on. read more

Our family owns a calendar ready medium to long haired Russian Blue/Maine Coon mix...well, I should say owned... We brought our family cat to Paws & Claws and they ruined her. She came back and did not even look like the same cat. When she was dropped off we asked them to shave her hind region to prevent sticky poop situations and leave the rest of her alone just like previous times. We also ask for no blow dryer since it freaks her out and they did that anyway (on multiple occasions). The worst part is when I called to confront them about it they wouldn't have the decency to admit their error and offered us a measly $20 off our next visit. What on Earth makes you think we are coming back. Before you are quick to judge about this posting please note, we do know that the hair will grow back but this is going to take a long time. Our cat coat looks mangled and horrible. We are NOT happy at all about this and would not suggest this business to anyone. It is hardly a business if you do not know how to run it. This groomer makes you feel as if your the worst dog owner in the world. I had a issue where my dog received a cut to his eye and was told it was soap. They will at times let your dog run around with other dogs. Not knowing what each dogs temper is your little dog could be a chew toy to the big dogs. She's over priced and doesn't cut them the way you would like. read more

I also had a terrible experience at Paws n Claws in Mt Sinai. The owner was rude and offensive. I don't know how she has stayed in business for so many years. They kept my young dog in a cage for hours, did a terrible job and were very unprofessional when I picked him up. They were not even finished grooming him and refused to give him back to me until they were done. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a shop owner. read more

The owner who also does the grooming is a nasty women who does does not treat your dogs professionaly, or with care. I saw her treating someone's dog horribly when she thought no one was watching, she should not be allowed near animals let alone groom them! Not to mention she had my poor dog sit in the cage for 2 hours after my dog was finished and didn't bother to call to let me know he was ready, so my poor dog was in the cage for a total of 6 hours for no reason. I will never be back and I will make sure i spread the word the 2000+ people on my facebook, who live around that area to never take their pets there read more

We have brought many of our dogs for grooming at Paws n Claws. They do an excellent grooming- they listen to your request and don't just give every dog the same cut. The staff is friendly and the dogs are always ready when they say. I would definitely recommend Paws n Claws ! read more
