The owner was very attentive and knew how to groom a large winter dog and she was also very meticulous with her work. August looked like a show dog when he was finished. I will not be taking him back, ever. There is so much more to the story as I have talked to other dog parents about kennel cough at this place. Seems like a couple of other reviews mention this. I have taken him to another daycare when I lived near Elmwood Park and I have never had this issue and right away I notice that this other daycare always had someone watching the dogs at all times and their cameras always worked . I have two shih tzus and, knowing how much skill their coats require, I made multiple attempts to call ahead and confirm that this groomer was equipped to handle long-haired breeds. It was difficult to get anyone on the phone, but when I finally spoke to the owner, I was assured that they could manage the job. I explicitly requested a simple trim: faces, ears, and feet Had the owner herself groomed my dogs, perhaps this review wouldn't be necessary. Unfortunately, someone else did -- and the results were beyond unacceptable. I picked them up between work appointments and was in a rush, so I didn't examine them closely until I got in the car. I was stunned. Both of my dogs had bald patches on their faces where there had previously been full coats. Their appearance was so jarring. This was not a minor miscommunication or a matter of preference -- this was a clear lack of skill and care. If you have a long-haired breed and value their grooming look elsewhere. This place is not equipped to handle the job, no matter what they tell you on the phone.

First off, it's impossible to find someone to groom a cat in this area. We had a situation and desperately needed help with our long-haired Siberian. Unlike every other groomer we contacted, Furever Friends Family couldn't have been kinder, more generous, or more accommodating. They squeezed us in for a same-day appointment without hesitating. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely love animals. They took the time to understand my cats needs, her personality, and ensured a tailored grooming experience. My usually anxious feline felt at ease almost immediately (and seemed to like them more than me!) The grooming itself was top-notch. My cat came out looking like a show-stopper. Additionally, the space is spotless. You can tell cleanliness is a top priority! I can't recommend Furever Friends Family enough. Since the new ownership took over, our experience has gone steadily downhill. Prior to this, we had…read morenever once had an issue with grooming--no matter how long our dog's hair had gotten, even after COVID, the groomers always managed to brush him out without any problems. Unfortunately, that level of care has completely changed. We've dealt with several poor grooming jobs under the new owners, but this last visit was the final straw. We received a text saying they needed to go shorter, and we agreed--but when we picked up our dog, he had been completely shaved down to the skin. Our dog is part Husky, a breed that should never be shaved, and any reputable groomer should know that. To make matters worse, he had a cut on his neck from how close they got to the skin. Not only was the grooming unacceptable, but the staff also refused to take any accountability. Rather than admitting they were uncomfortable grooming our dog, they chose to proceed--and take our money--at the expense of his well-being. I have added photos of what he should look like versus how he looked when we picked him up. I can no longer recommend this place. Since the change in ownership and grooming staff, the quality and care have drastically declined.
