The 1-1/2 year old is especially easily distracted but Andrea managed to have my pup's attention in all our action shots. + Memorable moments. The pictures are priceless--I wanted them all. Even my friends who know my two dogs very well were impressed and said the essence of my dogs were captured in the photos. + Timely. And during the pandemic, she and her assistant wore masks. + Action shots. I was worried that my younger dog would run off and not pay attention. My worries were unfounded as I saw my dog run to her over and over again. Not once did my dog run off to chase a bird or sniff something on the grounds. Every single time she ran to Andrea to give her the perfect action shot! + No pressure. During our viewing session, Andrea patiently allowed me to view the proofs and select my favorites. Not once did she try to push any of the images or packages onto me. We also scheduled a follow up call to allow me to narrow my final options. + Dogs don't lie. Both of my dogs responded favorably to her. In fact my younger pup tried to follow her home. That tells me everything. Andrea has been a joy to work with - we are lucky enough to have had two sessions with her. We won the first session through a fundraiser with Copper's Dream Rescue where our handsome pup Kuma got photographed for their 2021 calendar. Andrea immediately made us all feel at ease and Kuma fell in love with her and her treats. We left our shoot feeling like we'd made a new friend! When we met with Andrea to view the photos she took, I immediately started tearing up watching the slideshow. At the time, our pup Kuma had been on steroids and various other medications for many months and hadn't been his true, energetic self. Seeing him running and smiling in the photos made my heart swell and eyes fill with happy tears. I have been following Andrea on Instagram for quite a while and really admired her work. When my dog turned 10 years old, I knew I wanted some nice photos before she got too much older. We had the absolute BEST experience working with Andrea and our fur-baby, Kona. It was our first time taking doggo pics, but I must say that Andrea brought out the inner model in Kona! Little did we know how photogenic our pup was, and we have Andrea to thank for getting him in the zone! Andrea was very responsive and she provided all the information we needed before our photo session. She worked with our dates, locations, and really took the time to ask questions to better know what we were looking for in our photos. We had scheduled a session at the beach in Half Moon Bay, but that day was unfortunately overcast and we were a bit bummed out... but Andrea still took advantage of the day and was still able to capture some amazing photos of our little guy despite the weather not cooperating. We rescheduled to a different location and date and the weather was great, so we ended up with photos from various locations that showed off Kona. Andrea is a natural when it comes to working with pups. She has a ton of gadgets, tricks, and treats to get your pup to do exactly what she wants. Kona immediately took to Andrea and was willing to do everything she asked him to. It was amazing to see her bring out Kona's personality during the photo session! I'd actually rate Andrea 6 out of 5! A friend recommended getting professional shots of my pup and I'm so glad I did. We know Andrea from a Westie meetup group and have long admired photos of her Otto. From the very start she made sure she understood exactly what I was looking to get out of the photo shoot. Her love of the subjects is so clear -- my dog *loved* the extra attention, it was just a fun beach play day for him. Andrea captured him in front of a few different backgrounds, but the ones I love the absolute best are the action shots of him chasing a ball. I would never have been able to get those myself. The triptych on my wall now is a wonderful memory, especially these days of sheltering-in-place! Andrea is the BEST! Not only is she a wonderful photographer, she is a dog whisperer! This combination is essential in capturing the best images of our rescue pup, Blossom - who is scared of everyone! This review has been a long time coming. I scheduled a photoshoot with Andrea as a Christmas gift for my fiance. I hemmed and hawed about whether or not I wanted him there for the shoot too, and in the end I'm glad I brought him along because part of the joy in receiving the photos is actually being there for the process. We opted for a two hour shoot, which allowed us to take photos at a lovely garden, and then switch up the scenery for another more open park that our dog Kelsie could run around in. Andrea was super friendly, patient, and you can tell that she does a lot of great work with dogs. She never pushed Kelsie to do anything that she didn't want, and made sure her personality shone in her photos. Not to mention she also had a lot of great ideas for posing, framing the picture, etc. that I never would have even thought of. This review is long long overdue! We've always photographed our dogs over the past twenty years. One key difference that I've found - there are photographers who do families in general and then there are pet photographers that do photos of your pets. I was looking for the latter because I think it makes a huge difference when it comes to experience dealing with animals. Andrea has a very very unique background. Not only is she gifted with a photographic eye but she is an animal behaviorist and trainer. This edge makes all the difference for her when it comes to ability and skill. Add on top now that she's super organized, personable, and absolutely LOVES what she does and you have the total perfect package! When I contacted Andrea she was quick to reply. I explained our situation and desire to want to have a beach/waterfront scene as a backdrop. She not only knew of a place, she did her best to monitor weather conditions as well. Our first attempt unfortunately for the shoot didn't go through because of the rain, but Andrea went out of her way to get our three guys photographed at an alternate location before we had to send one away to compete in a dog show up in Oregon. That really shows her dedication! The actual shoot was awesome. Andrea came prepared with treats, props and other utilities to make the shoot easier. I was more exhausted at the end and I think Andrea could have easily shot more! The finished product was absolutely great. We had a choice of many great shots. We ultimately picked different poses and scenes that brought out the personality of our new puppy. Andrea is top of the list for me for future shoots that involve our furry family members! read more

In Spring 2020, we booked an outdoor photo session with our two (now fully grown) pups and my husband and myself. Not only did we end up with amazing digital prints (2020 Holiday Card, here we come!), but we ordered FAR more framed prints than we ever expected. In particular, we have one spectacular photo of the Half Moon Bay harbor, fishing boats shrouded in fog, with our two girls swimming together in the foreground - printed large and hanging in our dining room. The passed out chihuahua is our adorable little guy. He's not used to being a star, but Andrea managed to get him to pose for 3(!) hours. After walking in with some seriously clutch lenses, Andrea spent a lot of time on our floor and lawn, trying to bring Gato (yes, Gato) to life. If you saw all our results, you'd know that she brought the goods. Gato is lucky enough to have three pictures in the Paws & Play Studio gallery. It's great that Andrea knows a lot about both photography *and* animals, particularly pups. Andrea spent lots of time to understand my dog's personality over the phone. She asked me what kind of treats my dog likes. we wanted to have our two corgis - Doku and Mumu - captured in one of our favorite settings: the golf course. If you want photos that truly capture your pet's personality, you NEED Paws and Play Studio!! Andrea is spectacular and her photos even more so. While I'm currently sans pup, I have a couple of other pets that I wanted some nice photos of, so I turned to Andrea to deliver. And deliver, she did! I've always thought cats can be hard to photograph-especially outdoors-but she nailed it. She even snapped some beautiful shots of my Green Cheeked Conure, which I keep on my phone to show off to friends whenever the opportunity arises. For the photo shoot itself, Andrea was flexible about time and location, but still gave her own recommendations in order to get the best shots.
