Purchased a weed eater at Pawn Plus in Macomb for $70. The weed eater was a Craftsman and BRAND NEW with the instructions & warranty attached in the original plastic. I bought in March of this year & didn't use it for the first couple weeks. Then I used it 3 times and all of a sudden the head fell off & there is no way to reconnect it.
So, thinking I had a warranty (because I applied for it online after purchase) I took it to Sears. They say it's NOT covered because I purchased it through the Pawn Shop rather than Sears. I say it was BRAND NEW & the head fell off because of DEFECT not DAMAGE but still no coverage.
So I take it back to the Pawn Shop & the owner does NOT accept ANY responsibility. I tell him the whole story and he tries to claim that I purchased the unit "USED"...It was NOT...It was BRAND NEW!!!.....So Basically I handed him $70 for a piece of junk I used 3 times that I'm going to have to throw away (I am a very good at repairing thing but this cannot be repaired.).
Beware of buying things from Pawn Plus in Macomb especially since prices of merchandise are nearly that of the new item anyway. BUY NEW from a retail store!!
****!!!****!!!**** For the record,,,this unit NEW at Sears is $69.88. So I could have had one WITH a warranty if I would have only had went directly to Sears!!! I was NOT saving money by purchasing at Pawn Plus.
