I…read morewas too disappointed and upset yesterday when I picked up my two airedales from the grooming. First off, they didn't have my appointment shceduled when I arrived with the two of them at 7:30am. But they went ahead and took them. I had made the appointment the week before, after calling around looking for a place that had experience grooming airedales. They were the first to tell me they were. In fact, shared with me that they had a couple of airedale clients they groom. Just in case, before turning my airedales over to the groomer, I told her specifically. that I liked a long beard and mustache, and not to cut them. I even went as far as to give her photos of how I wanted the "head", showing different angles. I even told them what size blade to use. All I can say is, the ears are right on both dogs. I have no idea how many months...maybe a year, for my female to grow her beard back. Or how long her hair will grow back on her face so she doesn't look like a poodle or whatever that's supposed to be. The Groucho Marx eyebrows and the mustaches....I'll have to do or find another groomer just to fix them. And poor Roadie, he has been limping on his right front leg since we got him home. I was hoping it'd be better today, but it's not. Will have to take him into his vet. if there's no improvement. Don't know what happened, but he didn't have a limp when he went there yesterday morning. And they sure didn't say anything on how he may have hurt himself or gotten hurt. One thing I will not be doing, is taking them to the Big Dog Show at Reliant Stadium , in Houston, for "Meet the Breed". In the past, I've always taken our airedales for that. It's like a "show and tell" , where people can see and touch different AKC breeds and get information about them. They do not represent what an airedale should look like. Not even as a "pet". I didn't expect a show cut, but I did expect an airedale cut from someone who claimed they were experienced and knowledgeable to do that. I have serious doubts...serious doubts that was truthful. The price....shocking...$335.60 ($25.60 was sales tax) I was told $95 each for the grooming because of their weight. Then the upcoding for the nails ($15), conditioner ($5), dematting ($10) (was told they found a mat under Roxie's front leg, I told them to just cut or shave it off..it wouldn't show anyway), they said nothing about finding any mats on Roadie, but I was charged for them.). Then an extra $30 charge for "scissor service". I wasn't told this would be an extra charge above the "grooming service". And what was the "add on pattern set service" ($10) for Roadie? That was a whole other charge...and not one for Roxie. But I guess she was so messed up, they couldn't claim that. Roxie did have a cute bandana that was so tight on her neck, we had to cut it off. Roadie didn't have one, Maybe all they are used to doing are small dogs? You would have thought they would have put some cologne on them at least, but no. Just as well, they probably charged for that. I was shocked at the price. And of course, we had to pay before they brought the dog's out. And they don't give you a receipt of the charges, either. When I got home, I had a mystery message to click some weird link on my phone from an unknown number. Nothing that said it was from Red Bluff Pet Resort. Just a link to "view Roxie and Roadie's report card" and to "click this link to get pre approved for credit". After getting on my computer, I was finally able to figure out it came from them, and the desk person had signed me up for it. First off, there was no report card. There was a place for putting my credit card information in for them to make things easier for next time (as if). And I finally found my receipt and the breakdown of charges. It was a very expensive lesson. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a groomer that really does know how to groom an airedale in the Deer Park, Texas area. Photo of Roxie and Roadie. After I get back I have her start providing housekeeping services as well. She wanted me to sign a document for maid service. She seemed really nice, and I trusted her. She later tells me I am locked into a 1 month contract. I do not believe she ever told me that it was a long term contract. I decided to say nothing, and continue on with the service, but just never use her again after the 1 month was up. At a certain point into that she tells me that her relative with dementia also stayed there when I was gone during the pet sitting visit. She also says that she brought her dog along as well. She said the dog did not get along with my cat. I found like maybe 15 opened spaghetti packages in my pantry after my trip. They were not used, just opened lol. They were bulk packages in plastic from Costco, and thought maybe there was an issue with the store. After she told me about the family member with dementia that was there, I wonder if it was caused by her. After this I never wanted to use her for pet sitting. I have since found a couple of really great pet sitting companies, which I am really grateful for! I have been using them exclusively since then. I had tried out a few freelance maids, but never had good experiences. I decided to try out her services again. I thought that if I just do not sign any contracts or let her be alone in my place, it will be ok. I felt she did a good job cleaning before. She came over, and while she was cleaning my bathroom it started leaking around my faucet. There had been an ongoing issue with the faucet leaking, but it had stopped after a plumber tightened it several months back. I asked her to not use a toothbrush or abrasion to clean any other places that have caulking. I normally just use alcohol and a towel. I never told her that she was responsible or got upset with her. She then got upset, and used a disrespectful tone to talk to me. I just ignored it. I had also asked her to not use scented dish-soap to clean as I have sensitive skin. She never used these cleaners before when she cleaned. She suggested vinegar instead, and I told her that I had some. She then started cleaning with vinegar. Later on she said that I should not really use vinegar to clean because it can damage things when used longterm. Why would she suggest it then, if she thinks it will cause damage? It seems very passive aggressive. Is she in intensionally trying to damage my things? She then went on about all of these problems in her life. I had asked her about coming everyday part way through the visit, but after the visit was over I just felt drained and gross. It was way too much bad energy. I later see all these brown specs in my toilet. I try to use the toilet brush to remove them. I notice they were lower in the bowl as well where stuff should not stick. I then see that they are divots with rust. I have never had this happen to any toilet in any home I have ever lived in. The toilet is less than 2 years old, and a high end brand. I paid almost 1k to have it installed. She claims she only used dish soap to clean my toilet lol. I believe the damage was intensionally caused by her because she was upset that I asked her to not use a toothbrush to clean my caulking. She could have a very successful business as a housekeeper and pet sitter, if she just acted normal, and did basic things right. Honestly, I am just happy I never have to see her again. I would gladly pay 1k to get this person out of my life, so I guess it was a bargain to have my toilet ruined lol. I have learned my lesson. I am going to stop using freelance maids from now on. I have had too many bad experiences. I am going to instead use a cleaning company, professional organizer, prepared meal service, and a laundry delivery service. I am sure it will cost a more money, but is is worth it knowing that there is a company managing and vetting the employees.

I spoke with Patty and she set me up an appointment for Friday (8-15-2025) at 9am. Yesterday (8-14-2025) I got a text with drop off instructions. See below.....so up and out the door early to get them to groomers this morning I showed up at 9:10 walked in and Mendy was in complete shock that I was dropping them off. I said well Patty set my appointment for 9 she pulled up the schedule on the iPad and said no your appointment is at 12. I said no it was for 9 trust me 12 would have made me happy not to have to rush. Mendy stated leave them I will fit them in. My dogs sat there from 9:10 to 2:30 and was rushed to get the female finished because husband went to pick them up. When asked about the issue the vet fired back well your wife could have taken them and returned at 12. Really!?!?! First off why did this happen? Are appointments suggestive now days? My appointment was at 9 they should have been groomed at 9. Second was that your best response as a business owner? Absolutely not! And third where's the accountability for your mistake? The comment "I will fit them in was a complete lie." They were the last two for the day and when Ray asked Mendy about her comment to fit them in she didn't have anything to say but a mumble. I'm sorry my rant is over, but let me be clear you don't play with my babies. So as an animal lover rethink your visit to Spencer Animal Hospital they lack accountability and I'm positive my dogs stayed in the cage the entire time without water and was told they had a potty break.
