This place is old and gross. Most of their products are expired and way overpriced... I would rather drive the 10 or so miles to Cub Foods.

Whenever I am in a new town, I always gravitate toward the vegetarian-friendly establishments. When…read moreI found this place, I was pretty excited, because I have had some really good experiences in health food store cafeterias! I am really giving this place three stars, but one extra for service (as you might note below). The excellent: Upon entering the cafeteria area in the back of the store, one of the folks behind the cold/prepared foods counter greeted me, and I asked him about the options I could order for dinner. He was amazingly helpful, but to be honest, there really aren't that many vegetarian options on the menu. There is a hot food table, but I wanted more of a sandwich, so I ordered the falafel sandwich. It was different than any other falafel I have had (baked instead of fried), but it was fresh and tasty. The pricing was spot-on and fair. The meh: The seating area to eat, just past the cash registers is pleasant enough, but needed to be cleaned. It's very utilitarian, and served its purpose... but a more inviting space would certainly be welcome. Overall: Probably a 3.5. However, because of the service and the fact that I am an optimist, I'll give a 4.

The section could use more care as there were many out of date cheeses, and one very moldy one right in front; I actually bought one a month past sell-by by choice, as I really wanted the cheese. I saw some cheeses dated as far back as February this year (it's the end of June). The market otherwise looked clean and maintained.

I needed to grocery shop on my way to my vacation rental in Cornucopia Wisconsin. Rather than drag…read morea cooler and bags of food all the way from the Twin Cities I opted to stop at a SuperOne on my way across Wisconsin. There were three locations on my exact route, this one has specifically good reviews, which is how I chose it. First of all, huge clean well stocked store, tons of inventory, literally everything you could possibly want, and excellent prices. I noticed that the prices were substantially lower in some cases than what we pay at Cub in the Twin Cities. (Cub IS expensive even though they pretend to be budget-friendly.) I had budgeted $100 for what I needed to get to bring to the rental and I spent $44. But I was looking specifically for pasties. I asked the butcher if they had any pasties, and he came out from behind the counter, walked me over to a cooler that was full of pasties. Six different brands, all made by small businesses or families in Minnesota or Wisconsin. I got the story on all of the businesses, plus a lesson how a proper pasty is made, the proper meat inside of it, and everything else that a person needs to know to make a selection. (Turns out in his younger days he trained at a butcher shop that ground meat for a pasty maker.) It was a delightful conversation and the picture below is the selection that I made, and they were delicious. I bought two of them and given their size I assumed we would have leftovers. On the contrary, we ate every last crumb. Everyone we spoke to was friendly. We clearly looked like tourists because we were just roaming around the grocery store and we were approached several times and offered assistance. Even the checkout lady had a great sense of humor and wished us a happy vacation. Next year on our fall trip to the South Shore this is where I will do my grocery shopping enroute. PS not to slight Cub in anyway, when I got back to town and went grocery shopping, to my delight, I found this exact pasty in the freezer section. And when I questioned them about this brand, they said it is the best one and the only one that they carry.
