Not because it is filled with screaming children and…read moreabsent-minded/jaded parents --it isn't--but because it is marvelously decorated and feels like an old castle or something. Exposed wood beams, stained glass, the place really gives off a great vibe. However, I am giving the hotel three stars to caution my fellow travelers. I'm giving it three stars because I am an idiot. Three stars because location is inconvenient for exploring Trier, and you should know that. There are bus links to the city, but I think it is quite a few stops from the city center. The hotel will gladly call you a taxi, which runs about 12 Euros or so to get into town, not a terrible cost, but it does take time away from sightseeing. Otherwise, if you're not looking to explore the city, or just looking for a romantic night out with your significant other, this place is great. The experience wasn't flawless, either. We had an excellent 4-course meal in the restaurant, but the breakfast, while robust, was lacking in service. It's damn near impossible to get a refill on your coffee, which is a shame because the coffee is, in my opinion delicious. It's real filter coffee, which is very hard to find in Europe, so have some, but don't expect a second cup.

We took a taxi from the station but it is possible to walk with a good map.

Most lovely Hotel!…read more I don't like to add reviews for Hotels, but this Hotel deserves 5 Stars. Clean, updated, quite, comfortable rooms with great views. Updated bathrooms. 2 Pools, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor infinity pools. Some of the best breakfast's we had, with a grand variety of breads, bread rolls, meats, fishes, fruits, pate's, etc. - Made to order breakfast was served hot, tasty and prepared with love. Check you the picture of my decaf Cappuccino. - The staff was very professional and friendly and we enjoyed a few nights at their bar, where they took utmost care of crafting drinks and drafting fresh beers to perfection. We had dinner one night in their restaurant and all of us were very very satisfied with the presentation, taste and variety. The local wines they offer are superb! It takes 10 minutes to walk to down town and the views from the hotel are wonderful. Wonderful Hotel and Restaurant!!!

Despite having just 36 rooms, there are a surprising amount of amenities including an indoor swimming pool. When we were there we had it to ourselves - extremely romantic as the staff lights big pillar candles and there's a view of the city through big glass doors. Our room was gorgeous - large, with a sitting area, lots of storage and a great bathroom with rainfall shower. Because its a bit outside the center, it's a 15 minute walk to the city proper for touring and dining. There is limited parking on site (maybe 10-12 spots). During the week dinner is served but on weekends, it's bar service only. If its sunny, there is a huge terrace overlooking Trier but it was chilly, so we sat in the comfy lounge. As can be expected, the wine list is full of local Moselle Valley treats at fair prices. Breakfast is included in your stay and includes homemade pâté, local cheeses and cooked eggs to order. Staff is young, enthusiastic and charming. I'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Modern high quality furnishings and excellent amenities. Most importantly, during these scary COVID times, the rooms were very, very clean - in all details, I felt very well taken care of here. Breakfast was also very good, the owner takes great care of you and everything was prepared a la carte. Again, it's a very small hotel, no restaurant or bar but you are right in the middle of town surrounded by countless restaurants, bars and Cafes. I stayed there twice now, both times in different rooms and both times a great experience! Looking forward to my next stay there!

Value for money is very low. Decent location, but... the parking is not included, there is no outside terrace space, there is no AC and the street noise from the pub outside makes trying to sleep impossible if the window is open, the pillows are simply paper stuffed squares of fabric, and the staff wanted a deposit to let us have a fan in the room! We had originally planned to stay 2 nights but reconsidered after a few hours sweating in the room. The registrar told me he couldn't refund the second night as I had already paid. I offered to call my CC company and decline the charge altogether and suddenly they were able to reverse the 2 night charge and apply a single night charge. The room was clean and the bathroom worked.

A super friendly staff takes it over the top. Such service and ambiance IS approximately priced though. I can see a romantic valentine night or anniversary celebration spending a night or two here. The breakfast was also fantastic with a ample mix and variety laid out for indulgence.

They said they couldn't guarantee it, but they would try. When we arrived 3.5 hours early, we were pleasantly surprised to see our room ready. Katherine at reception was lovely and our room was spacious and clean. It's a little bit outside of the city center (definitely walkable though) and they have a private lot in the back for parking (8 euro a night). The walls are a little thin, so we could hear the maid cleaning the room next door--in all fairness we were super-jetlagged and didn't wake up until after 10, so it's not like they started cleaning unreasonably early. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking to stay in Trier/middle Mosel.
