History

Established in 2003.

Paulette Mertes Studios, formerly located in the Central Building at 970 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford Center, has recently moved to a larger, loft studio in the historic Plaza 2074 building on Park St. in Hartford. This charming building now offers clients a full 2200 square feet of space with 12 foot ceilings and antique, hardwood floors.

Meet the Business Owner: Paulette M.

Paulette Mertes began her photographic career as a photojournalist for a daily newspaper in the Midwest. She became a full-time portrait photographer when she opened her own studio in 2003 and has earned numerous awards for her work. Paulette has been named "Portrait Photographer of the Year" for the last 6 years by Connecticut Professional Photography Association. She has also earned Photographer of the Year from Professional Photographers of America and has been recognized by Canon with the Canon Par Excellence Award for her body of work. "I've been producing beautiful photography for over 30 years and I have always loved the connection I make with my subjects. In my sessions, I provide a warm and compassionate atmosphere in which I capture the soft expressions and candid moments that show my clients love this experience as much as I do."
