Blerk! As everyone says, yes, it is very conveniently located outside the Castellane metro station and by two movie theatres (which seem to be the only ones in Marseille that sometimes show movies in VO [version originale] with French subtitles FYI.) But we hated our food, thought it was overpriced, and the service was not very good compared to other service we had in the south of France.
We got a bottle of wine which tasted like vinegar to me and I wouldn't drink, but we never got anyone's attention again to ask for another/swap. I wasn't very hungry so I had an appetizer for my meal, beef carpaccio. I have lovely memories of eating razor thing bright pink carpaccio gently drizzled in oil with a few capers and some shavings of parmesan on summer nights in Paris. This dish did not live up to or even approximate those memories. Big thick slices of beef browning at the edges, covered in grated parmesan, arugula, some capers, and tomato. It came with a spray bottle of olive oil (????). The beef was a bit tough and the whole dish oily and unflavorful.
He got the andouillette, which to be fair is probably our fault for ordering. Maybe it was a fine andouillette. Maybe our waiter should've told us what andouillette is. Anyways, it came with a polenta cake which wasn't so good either.
We just got our very expensive check and hustled out of there. There are so many other places to eat in the area, go to one of those. read more
